Chicago Sky owner Michael Alter banned Enes Kanter Freedom from Wintrust Arena after this past Sunday’s Fever game. The phrase he used was “a potential threat.”

The footage of the moment he is talking about is short.

Late third quarter. Natasha Cloud scores, celebrates, then walks toward the baseline. Freedom is sitting there in a shirt that reads “WOMAN noun. adult human female.” He stands. Arms out. One step toward the floor. Security fills the gap. He is walked out holding the shirt up for the building to read.

That is the act. This is how he framed it in a tweet:

“I just got kicked out of a @WNBA game for supporting WOMEN! Let that sink in, AMERICA! 🇺🇸”

Alter’s account is that Freedom had been chirping, that people in the seats said he started it, and that the night changed when he got up. “The security’s job isn’t to wait to see how far they get.” Fan code says you do not enter the court. On Wednesday he told OutKick that some threats do not get a warning, and he used shooting a gun as the extreme example.

O'Reilly on the recent 'No Kings' marches

 I got a hint of these "No King's" rallies going through downtown Chicago over the weekend. Don't know how I view them, perhaps just another progressive march - and being heavily pushed by outlets such as CNN or MSNB....MS NOW, etc. And perhaps this is just another protest against President Donald Trump.

I see this Talking Points Memo from Bill O'Reilly he talks about this as you will see below. These rallies aren't organic, they're heavily funded by a variety of billionaires and you have to question if there is really a critical mass of people who are upset with President Trump. [VIDEO]

Bill O'Reilly is right. No solutions, no problem solving, just get Trump out. We don't want his solutions.

I could go back to 20 years ago, when this energy was directed toward George W. Bush, and rightfully Americans were asking questions about the military actions in Afghanistan and especially Iraq. However, the same kind of thing there, march for peace and then what else. Was the message peace or anti-war back then or was it just we "hate Bush".

How can anyone take these rallies very seriously?

This is old news, I sat on it and well now I want to bring it to your attention. This is something that I strongly oppose. And I see there are some sides that have no shame as far as when or even how they protest. This is an issue to me.

As you may know all the executive offices in Illinois are held by Democrats and the "Free Palestine" crowd have opted to single out the family of Democrat State Treasurer Michael Freirichs.

Do you want to know why? Because his office failed to divest some investments with ties to the State of Israel and doubled down. They came to his house once before last year and then they recently came back.

Eh? Really disturb the peace at 3 A.M. some people have nothing better to do and worse still this.

“The lead woman had a bullhorn, and she made it very clear what her reasons were (for protesting),” he said. “She made it very clear by singling out my children, calling out, saying she knew that they were at home, knew that they were in their cribs and that they shouldn’t be allowed to sleep.”

Are you guys for real? Why are you making that man's children suffer? And again you're disturbing the peace with your protest!

For Treasurer Freirichs' part his statement:

I will always defend the right of people to peacefully protest. But coming to my home with bullhorns at 3 a.m. and frightening my family simply goes too far. This is intimidation to cause fear through scare tactics. They made it clear as they were leaving that they would continue to harass my wife and children where they sleep until my office divests from Israel Bonds. I won’t back down from these threats. I stand by the investment decisions I’ve made.

OK, I'm with it. But they shouldn't be protesting in a private neighborhood at 3 A.M. Well I don't know where he lives, and that's not really my business anyway. I presume he lives in a Chicago neighborhood and such activity would be disruptive.

May 2020 - 'peaceful protests' in Downtown Chicago

[VIDEO] I'm sharing this video from my other YouTube channel Ninth Ward Chicago to show how this were this month in 2020. That was such a strange year we had a pandemic and then civil unrest in many American cities after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Most American cities are still recovering from this activity.

I didn't record much unrest other than some vandalism. I recorded a march right on State Street. And then me waiting on a train to go back home, however, due to the "unrest" aka rioting in downtown Chicago CTA service had been disrupted.

I finally uploaded this video during the 2023 Chicago mayoral race hoping that Chicago would turn the page from the Lori Lightfoot era. Which explains the comments you saw scrolled at the end about how the next mayor should take control of the city.

With this said, Lightfoot left office in 2023 and the jury is out on her successor current Mayor Brandon Johnson. He's a much better communicator and perhaps not as abrasive as Lightfoot, however, he doesn't display the leadership that's necessary to be mayor.

For 2020, IMHO if Rahm Emanuel had run and won a third term as mayor the city would be in a different state at that time than it was at the time. Would Chicago be as out of control as it seemed to have been in 2020? Would the pandemic be any different under him?

Now I hear Chicago could fall behind Houston as America's third largest city.

I might also add that year there was a presidential race which ultimately was won by Joe Biden and 2021 started off with that same energy as was seen the last week of May 2020. And while the pandemic was rough, it has been a rough period under "Let's go Brandon". Will 2024 see different results?

All we can do is stay tuned.

Timcast: Canada is now FREEZING bank accounts without due process

 

[VIDEO] We're visiting with Tim Pool today again with his report on what's going on in Canada in one of his segments from yesterday. The Trudeau gov't in Canada is using emergency powers in response to the ongoing Canadian trucker convoy protest. In other words the gov't is messing with their money.

It's a bit ironic since many Canadian provinces I'm seeing are letting go of their pandemic restrictions. No more masks, no more vax mandates, etc. While it seems the federal gov't of Canada seems to be for the moment doubling down on their pandemic response to the whole nation.

An ongoing thing it seems a continuing conflict between those who say it's time to live with coronavirus and those who still seem intent on maintaining restrictions. Using vax status as a means to keep anyone from using public accomodations.

#Tucker: Lawmakers are panicking over this

 

[VIDEO] Tucker Carlson talks about the response to the ongoing Trucker protest in Canada. One funny thing about this is well if you dont know anything about trucking how can you tell these guys what to do. How do products get to the store shelves for example if no trucker is delivering them? Are you able to replace them?

Of course a lot of this is about the pandemic in some parts of Canada they're doubling down as you might see in the province of Ontario. Also you see Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer who seems to want Canada to clear that bridge outside of Detroit. I'm surprised there aren't more protests of her mandates up there, and she ought to be one of those who will start lifting them as Gov. Pritzker has here.

And the media response is to demonize these truckers or even those who use cryptocurrencies. If you use bitcoin you're a racist, while if you use your nation's currency well you're only helping to fund these officials who keep the mandates going.

I get the feeling one we stop with these mask mandates or vax mandates we still haven't settled down.

Rubin Report: Freedom convoy putting visible stain on Canada's Trudeau as media lies ramp up

 

[VIDEO] So what's going on with the trucker protest convoy? Dave Rubin further discusses this ongoing protest which started in Ottawa and now has extended to even Detroit where a Canadian convoy has shut down a bridge into that city. Oh wait, you did know "Motor City" borders Canada?

Anyway, what's the common theme here? Well you will see clips from the liberal attack machine oh sorry the progressive left attack machine trying to tell their respective audiences to dismiss this convoy. And even Canada's Trudeau gov't trying to smear these blue collar logistical specialists (truckers) as any fringe groups that we're taught to shun. All of these truckers aren't nazis or white supremacists or confederates, they're just tired of the pandemic and the restrictions.

[VIDEO] The Prime Minister of Canada has been taking a bit of a beating with tuckers essentially taking over Canada's capital city since last weekend. This is essentially a protest of the ongoing pandemic response by the Canadian gov't. It should be noted that truckers have shut down the border between Canada and U.S.A. in the vicinity of Montana.

Another fun fact that while the truckers honk against the mandates of the Canadian gov't, it should be noted that it came out in the past week that Prime Minister Trudeau has tested positive for coronavirus. This is although he is vaccinated and has been noted in a variety of sources vaccines are said to keep you from getting very sick, however, it doesn't exactly prevent you from getting infected with coronavirus. 

Anyone from Canada reading this blog? Are you involved in this protest? As Trudeau just got through an election just last year, do you think he could survive this?

FOX Chicago: Mass thefts in Chicago amid protests of Kyle Rittenhouse verdict

 

[VIDEO] As you know I write a variety of blogs and yesterday I posted about a smash and grab at a Game Stop store on the south side. You see some clips of that scene in this video, however, moments later in downtown Chicago there was yet another smash and grab at a Neiman Marcus store.

Then combine this with protests in light of the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict and of course even in the cold weather concerns over any civil unrest as this case has proven to be very polarizing. You see that here.

I mentioned to you that the men that Rittenhouse vanquished in self-defense last year had been derided as a white supremacist for shooting some very troubled men who were allegedly there for Black lives. 

I just with there were effective protests over the crime over these smash and grabs here in the city. I can see this case for what it is, self-defense. Everyone seems to blow off that this young man may have feared for his safety.

When will we come back to Earth...

O'Reilly: So-called peaceful protestors attack CNN crew

 

[VIDEO] Remember what I said last summer and this goes from these progressive liberal leftist socialist Democrat politicians to the media. As long as you're essentially part of the power structure you're able to successfully project your image to the masses you're as much the enemy. Bill O'Reilly is right, these so-called protestors, demonstrators, rioters, etc. only want destruction and violence. They don't care who sympathizes with them as long as they want to cause mayhem.

Tim Pool: NYPD Commissioner calls activists spoiled brats

 

[VIDEO] I give Kudos to the NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea, hopefully when he says this you have the ear of one Mayor Bill de Blasio. Shea is correct in his comments:

She lashed out against the protesters on NY1 Tuesday morning, saying the NYPD’s limited resources shouldn’t be used to curb “spoiled brats.”

“We’re chasing knuckleheads who are breaking windows, causing property damage, making graffiti and lighting fires,” he said. “That’s the last thing people in New York City need."

“At a time when there is an uptick in crime we don’t need officers pulled away for I don’t know what you call them,” Shea added. "I’m not calling them peaceful protesters. I’m calling them spoiled brats at this point.”

Context:

Two dozen people were arrested in Manhattan early Tuesday when a protest over a man killed by Texas police ended in arson, vandalism and confrontations with police — activities that drew a sharp rebuke from NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea, who called the demonstrators “knuckleheads” and “spoiled brats.”

About 100 people took to the streets near City Hall about 9:30 p.m. Monday to express their outrage over the death of Johnathan Price, a former college football player who was killed by police over the weekend as he tried to stop a domestic assault at a northeast Texas gas station.

After trying to block the street near Centre and Chambers Sts., protesters made their way up to Broadway near Washington Square Park, where several windows were broken and buildings were marred with graffiti, officials said.

Several small fires had also been set before police rounded up most of the protesters by Astor Place and Broadway and placed them under arrest shortly after 12 a.m., cops said.

Fourteen of the marchers were arrested for unlawful assembly, disorderly conduct and obstruction of government administration, officials said. An additional 10 protesters received summonses.

...

Nine of the 14 arrested protesters lived in the city, cops said. The rest live upstate or in states like Georgia, California and Ohio. At least one of the arrested protesters lives in Texas, officials said.

They were acting crazy over a police involved death in Texas. Anything that happens to a Black person anywhere spawns protest anywhere.

And again another distortion of a Dr. King soundbite: "Rioting is the voice of the unheard". These individuals have nothing better to do and causing more harm than good. 

Relevant Protest Warrior signs for 2020

I've mentioned Protest Warrior on this blog over the years. If this website and organization is ever revived I think it would be more relevant than ever. It could wonder what signs could they come up with to trigger the far left of today including BLM.

I went through their long defunct website to pick out images of signs that would likely still be relevant today. Signs that would work, however, when PW was active back in the 2000s most of their counter activism was pro-Israel and focused a lot on the Middle East. Some of the characters they had on their signs Yasser Arafat and Saddam Hussein are no longer alive. Also they took aim at the United Nations as for some they don't even represent the best solution to the issues of peace and security of the world.

Regardless I would dare say for PW is that today's activist environment is a lot more volatile in 2020 than it was in say 2003-04. Basically the fight was against the so-called peace movement which could be described as more anti-American than anti-war. These days I think counterprotesting groups as BLM and Antifa is a far more dangerous proposition in more ways than one.

The signs you see below would be very relevant today.

This sign is exceptionally relevant. The worst part of this sign is that some of the loudest elements of this especially that small retort at the bottom are white. They're the ones say the police should be defunded, they're talking the most about systemic racism, they're talking the most about white privilege. Wait did they talk about white privilege in the 2000s?

Hmmmm, some people can argue those same whites who are willing to pay for the sins of the atrocities over the past few centuries might me more racist than they realize. I would argue being a so-called anti-racist is the real white privilege. And consider this a Black police officer out of Portland, Oregon did a media availability to state that it was usually a white anti-racist activists who prevented Black people - who should care about solving the issue of police brutality - from actually engaging in dialogue with police.

We could change this sign for looting yes? Looting is reparations that's what a "spokesperson" for Chicago's BLM stated for local TV cameras and got some play on FOX News in recent weeks. There is one city that I know of that has voted on reparations for the descendants of slaves.

Well this could apply to more than the Green Party. I think the activists who remain in the streets into August really have this mentality. They're not going to solve any problems, the goal is the spread the misery to those who aren't suffering any misery. Or indeed to complain about gentrification claiming you're squeezing minorities out of their communities.

This is more of a message for today as we're still in the heat of a global pandemic. We're trying to figure out how to insure our young people can continue their education. We hope to send them back to the classrooms while the teachers are far more concerned about the possibility of getting sick. However today's crisis has caused me to wonder if we need reforms in our education system. One reform I do support is vouchers so that the young people living in low-income communities can go to a great private school and get a high level of education.

What's true before coronavirus is that there are doubts you can get a high level of education in public schools. Of course we can expand this to higher education, we need to reform what's going on there as well.

Minneapolis Police union leaders speaks on recent BLM protest

[VIDEO] A few days ago I shared a video of a protest outside of a Minneapolis Police union official Bob Kroll in his suburban Twin Cities home. It was such an angry and vile speech by a state legislative candidate that has made the news - well FOX News who knows if it even made it to CNN, MSNBC, CBS, etc. Either way Kroll who is also currently a Lieutenant in the Minneapolis Police was interviewed by Laura Ingraham on her FOX program.

I've revisited in a couple of posts the initial unrest in Minneapolis back in May on this blog recently and shared posts from the Minnesota based blog Powerline which discusses the rift between the Minneapolis Mayor and the Minnesota Governor. It seems a riot in one of the state's largest city wasn't urgent enough for the Governor to immediately mobilize the Nat'l Guard there. I used those posts to stick up for the Mayor Jacob Frey as he hoped to maintain control of city streets there.

Of course what's clear from Lt. Kroll's comments is that there was a failure of leadership long before the unrest back in May of this year. And if you believe what's being said in this report, the damage from this disaster will take many years to recover from and I'm led to believe in spite of Minneapolis being such a "progressive paradise" it's not right now! 

Ami Horowitz: Inside the Portland riots - this is what the media calls peaceful?

[VIDEO] Another look by Ami Horowitz into the unrest here in America. Last month he took a look at the CHAZ or CHOP area of downtown Seattle, Washington which thankfully was later dismantled by a city government that was in no rush to do so.

Portland, Oregon on the other hand still hasn't settled down since the end of May and the focus has become the federal courthouse there. Even promoted a stronger federal response in the form of additional federal agents to protect federal assets there.

Horowitz stated during this video that he had been threatened by these so-called protestors if he chooses to portray them in a less than flattering light. As much as I had dreamed of doing something similar at one point in time this would be enough for me to call it a day trying to cover the truth.

Still these riots conducted by anti-fascists or anti-racists has really become a cover for this idea of "organized chaos" and violence. Some of them are recorded by Horowitz saying they want to disrupt society. I don't think this is about being anti-fascist or anti-racist anymore, the bad news is that the narrative is being enabled by the media and guess who else would be targeted by this organized chaos - CNN, MSNBC, etc.

These leftists will turn on politicians seemingly sympathetic to them...

Conclusion, I hope these Democrat politicians realize that if they don't bow exactly to the mob they're next. Anyone who doesn't agree with them on saying abolishing or defunding police they become the enemy. They're getting canceled.

Portland, Oregon Mayor Ted Wheeler has been on top of President Trump sending federal resources there to protect a federal courthouse which has been under attack by protests. It seems as if Portland hadn't settled down since the unrest over George Floyd's callous death at the hands of Minneapolis, MN police on Memorial Day. If this isn't a sign that this isn't about racism or justice I don't know what is.

Regardless, Wheeler has been all over federal tactics which includes detaining these protestors rioters. Just essentially whisking them away in their unmarked vehicles after detaining them. No announcement of who they are or even no announcement of an arrest. [VIDEO]

I'm dismayed about what's been going on, however, we're not in normal times. We still have a pandemic going on and Portland seems hell bent on tearing itself apart. This isn't acceptable Mayor Wheeler and other leaders - mostly Democrats - in Oregon are enabling this chaos. Like I said, you can enable and sympathize if you want but these "activists" will ultimately turn on you. Even the Mayor of Seattle had to learn.

Wait, the Mayor of Minneapolis, Minnesota had to learn himself when he wouldn't commit to abolishing the police department there. And remember he was all over the issues of "systemic racism".

Hong Kong protests objectives

[VIDEO] I've got a bit of catching up to do on these protests in Hong Kong. HK is essentially an auntomous area of China which was up until 1997 a dependency of the United Kingdom. It's known as a very capitalistic society which probably could do very well in a China that has increasingly accepted capitalism except it remains a single party state ruled by the Communist Party of China.

So basically these protests (which have lasted three months) began when China considered an extradition bill which sparked these protests. Now the protests are over whether or not Hong Kong should be able to elect their own leaders.

Hong Kong is so autonomous they utilize their natural right of free speech by booing the Chinese national anthem. What's emphasized in this video is that in the rest of the People's Republic of China booing the nat'l anthem is illegal. I can only imagine what happens if you do that in Shanghai or Beijing.

Either way what do you think about what's going on in Hong Kong right now? Do you support what the protests are attempting to achieve over there? Do you think it's good that the America response could basically support the HK protestors?

This past weekend's protest

Been having a rough time here in Chicago. In the past two months Chicago has seen increased protests thanks to first the Laquan McDonald story. He was shown on video being shot 16 times by a Chicago policeman who has been indicted in this incident.

I wrote over at The Sixth Ward about the protests that took place in downtown Chicago on Black Friday. Protestors shut down many of the shopping destinations on the Magnificent Mile not long after the release of police video in the McDonald case.

And here they still protest. Yesterday activists took to a police credit union on the city's west side for more protests. It wasn't just about police brutality or possibly unjustified police shootings:

The protesters said they had an additional mission: To reconfirm the values of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Monday's federal holiday honoring him comes at a tumultuous time for Chicago's race relations, as city officials deal with the aftermath of the Laquan McDonald police shooting scandal and work to change a long-standing policy of keeping video evidence in police shootings under wraps.

The march on the Near West Side was intended to bring awareness about King’s belief that political equality can't be achieved without social and economic equality. Protesters called for black workers' rights, open housing for blacks, the revitalization of black communities and viable jobs.

Protester Gabe Frankel, of the Ravenswood neighborhood, said marching the day after the anniversary of King's birthday was meaningful, particularly after this week's release of surveillance video from the January 2013 police shooting of 17-year-old Cedrick Chatman.

"It's time to step back and reflect to see if we're meeting the pillars of (King's) goals," he said. "I think we're failing miserably."

In addition to protesting police brutality, dozens of activists joined the march to advocate for workers' rights, asking for people of all education and experience to have access to parental leave, paid sick leave, the right to unionize without retaliation and protections against discrimination based on race, gender, past drug offenses or incarceration.

This is how you draw many protesters not just 20 or 25. You probably do have to bring in many people with different ideas. So not just police brutality, but other social justice causes regarding employment or economic rights.

It almost reminds me of the Protest Warrior days - can't believe that site is still up. The protests recorded there were largely "peace" marches but they had an agenda which again took up social justice causes. I recall them talking about education, welfare, health care and they were at a peace march.

This underscores the point:

Kejioun Johnson, a McDonald's employee living in the Roseland neighborhood, said black communities won't be stabilized until black workers begin receiving fair and equal treatment.

"Low income, low-wage jobs and race (at Chicago's fast-food restaurants) are one and the same," he said. "Organizations like McDonald's suck our community dry. Today, we're here to reclaim history and continue fighting for our communities."

I see... This gives me a facepalm although I recognize that if this is truly a grass roots effort it's possible organizers weren't entirely able to do their homework.

Protesters succeeded in closing the credit union for regular business, but they had done so because they believed they were "shutting down a privately owned bank that the FOP is housed in," Pagan said during the protest. The union, however, is housed in a building across the street.

In this nation to protest various causes is a right. It means there are those of us who don't like the fact that they protest. Sometimes though protests and activism results in change. Question is what kind of change are these activists seeking and what do they accomplish by shutting down a police credit union?

Capitol Fax: Is that really necessary? #blacklivesmatter

[VIDEO] Over the past weekend I shared news stories over at the FB page for my blog The Sixth Ward about the protests regarding Eric Garner out of NYC.

Last week I has already posted about what Rich Miller wrote about this story using his own angle. And then he writes about it today with a local twist.

Every now and then I write about 2nd City Cop. Basically it's a blog written by Chicago police officers (anonymously) for Chicago police officers. Of course since both of these cases that have stirred the races up in the past two weeks involved cops I should've know they would have something to say.

BTW, if you dare venture there Rich warns you and I warn you that the comments there are often NSFW. Those commenters have opinions will state them vulgarly and will use racial epithets to make their points. If not outright racial epithets the comments will be harshly racial.

Of course to start Miller shares the story of what happens when you dare protest the police have something stolen from you and see the actions of the police. Yup one could say f*ck the police until they need them. However the issue of this story was that it apparently was fake and patently racial as the thief was purported to be black and victim was a white female.

We could agree ironic but this didn't actually happen during all the protests. Although hey I'm sure this happened somewhere in the country perhaps this does happen.

However, and why the video above was posted is because this actually did happen. I'm sure some police officers see a little bit of everything and are numb to it. And some may well want to thumb their noses at the citizens who they must serve, however, the citizens who don't appreciate it. Then turn around and wonder why there are those citizens who don't appreciate it.

So the symbolism of playing "Sweet Home Alabama" during a Black lives matter protest in a predominantly Black Chicago west side neighborhood could be seen as a bad idea. I do like the song and don't consider it racial, but I recognize that context-wise this could be as bad as playing "Dixie" on loud speakers in a police vehicle in a Black neighborhood

It's already easy to point fingers at police and all we have to do is pick a reason. We're in our rights to point out the boneheads when we see them.

To protest an American right

[VIDEO] On Wednesday a group of protesters disrupted a session of the Illinois House of Representatives by dropping fake paper money on legislators. They were part of a group refered to as Represent.Us and the video you see above is from their YouTube channel.

Rich Miller wrote: "Notice that nobody started grabbing at the fake money."

This display was a protest against "loopholes" in Illinois' anti-corruption laws. And taking Millers quote into context it's funny that Illinois politicians are seen as corrupt - well especially Chicago politicians - but most of the members who were closest to the money drop knew it would've been bad PR to touch that. Even if the money was fake.

Well, assuming anyone asked for my take on it. :P

Back in 2003: Warriors among them

[VIDEO] This video produced by Evan Coyne Maloney features a group known as the Protest Warriors (PW). The PWs schtick if you will is to infiltrate protests with signs using the left's slogans against them at gatherings such as the San Francisco anti-war rally you're watching above.

This occurred close to 10 years ago and Maloney took a trip to the west coast to ask more questions of the anti-war crowd. While Maloney is still active as a filmmaker, PW doesn't appear to have survived. Founded by Kfir Alfia & Alan Davidson (or Lipton) they were once known for having a very active forum where people of different political ideologies debated. Unfortunately the forums were shot down on two occasions and it appears unlikely that they will return. An online store that sold merchandise has been shut down. Also while Kfir has moved on to other interests it was reported that Alan has since passed away!

I stated three years that PW would've been perfect for the events of the tea party and of the Occupy Movement. If only there had been some infiltration of Occupy rallies that occured last year and the year before that. Also the idea of infiltrating the events of the opposition may seem to be very passe now, there surely are just as many ingenious individuals such as Alan & Kfir who are able to protest those with whom they agree in such hilarious ways.
