[VIDEO] I'm sharing this video from my other YouTube channel Ninth Ward Chicago to show how this were this month in 2020. That was such a strange year we had a pandemic and then civil unrest in many American cities after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Most American cities are still recovering from this activity.
I didn't record much unrest other than some vandalism. I recorded a march right on State Street. And then me waiting on a train to go back home, however, due to the "unrest" aka rioting in downtown Chicago CTA service had been disrupted.
I finally uploaded this video during the 2023 Chicago mayoral race hoping that Chicago would turn the page from the Lori Lightfoot era. Which explains the comments you saw scrolled at the end about how the next mayor should take control of the city.
With this said, Lightfoot left office in 2023 and the jury is out on her successor current Mayor Brandon Johnson. He's a much better communicator and perhaps not as abrasive as Lightfoot, however, he doesn't display the leadership that's necessary to be mayor.
For 2020, IMHO if Rahm Emanuel had run and won a third term as mayor the city would be in a different state at that time than it was at the time. Would Chicago be as out of control as it seemed to have been in 2020? Would the pandemic be any different under him?
I might also add that year there was a presidential race which ultimately was won by Joe Biden and 2021 started off with that same energy as was seen the last week of May 2020. And while the pandemic was rough, it has been a rough period under "Let's go Brandon". Will 2024 see different results?
[VIDEO] Believe it or not it's been four years since the world shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic. It started with two weeks to bend the curve to now we're still talking about it's impact. Just as you see John Stossel discussing here.
The lockdowns, the social distancing, the extreme measures just as attempting to determine what a consumer can or can't buy because of coronavirus, deeming protest as "non-essential". Oh, wait I almost forgot before these vaccines there was discussing of "herd immunity" and that was dismissed by the media. And yet the one nation who made that gambit seen less death - that's Sweden they didn't lockdown at all!
I might share some more thoughts about this later.
[VIDEO] Tim Pool discusses the news of new mask mandates coming out of the Atlanta HBCU, Morris Brown College and within the movie company Lionsgate. Here's more out of Morris Brown - school is just about starting later this month down there - from CBS News:
Atlanta-based Morris Brown College has announced that the school is reinstating its Covid mask mandate for the next two weeks as a result of positive cases at the Atlanta University Center.
The historically black college posted a note on its official Instagram account noting that the protocols would be in effect for the next 14 days. This includes a requirement for mask-wearing by students and employees, physical distancing, contact tracing, and other significant efforts to reduce the spread of Covid-19 among the population on the Atlanta campus.
There is a new variant that they're concerned about
Medical experts have indicated that they are watching new variants like EG.5, which the World Health Organization has determined is a variant of interest.
So some of the mitigations are common sense although some might debate that wearing masks might not be entirely effective. Social distancing and washing hands seems to be the most common sense thing to do, everyday. That should be normal.
However, I'm remembering the effects of lockdowns in 2020. And I like Tim Pool's layman's explanation. We hear about these other variants the alpha variant probably was lethal though it incapacitates hosts to the point where they can't spread it. The variants that we were supposed to be concerned about after the initial bend the curve through 2021 were probably not as strong as the alpha variant though they might be more contagious.
Regardless I hope that there is someone in the public health or public administration field who are looking at 2020 and proposing better responses to a similar contagion. And as they discussed two weeks to bend the curve for a virus we don't understand, felt prudent at that time. However, the more this continued the more problematic it would become. I would hope we wouldn't do that again.
Thought, allow me to add some of this news is coming out not too far out from a Presidential Election. I'm keeping that in mind if I see more stories like this.
I think it's great news that his symptoms are mild. He has been vaccinated and boosted, he still got it although it's mitigating some aspects of the infection. I do sincerely hope he will be on the mend.
I see many reactions which are political and even saw some hints of a react from the man he booted out of office President Donald Trump. Trump himself got coronavirus during the presidential campaign in 2020 which prompted the cancellation of one Presidential Debate with then challenger Biden.
I don't intend to make this political, keep in mind that the President is almost 80 years ago. He'll turn 80 in November, and many of us are concerned about his declining mental faculties.
And to throw this in, I'm not concerned about the potential of a President Kamala Harris. I'm more or less convinced that she won't be able to get much done it's just based on her performance as Vice President now. It's very likely she won't win a presidential election - as was likely the case in 2020 had she got elected. Regardless who knows but she'll be nothing more than a placeholder.
Again while Biden isn't my favorite sitting president in my lifetime, I do wish him a speedy recover although I did go political in this post.
[VIDEO] A step in the right direction. Believe it or not it's been just about two years since this state and other states began their mitigation policies with regards to coronavirus. There were stay-at-home orders, mask mandates, schools were closed, some workplaces were shuttered temporarily, etc.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker already announced an end to the states mask mandate imposed from late last summer. And now the city of Chicago will follow suit. Feb. 28, 2022 the city will end its own mask and vaccine mandates for most public accomodations.
Of course as far as health care facilities or public transportation that hasn't changed as of yet. You still need a mask.
ALSO, forgot to note masks may still be required in the Chicago Public Schools.
[VIDEO] Bill O'Reilly talks up over time the whole vaccine thing believing that if you're not vaxed you will get hurt. Leaving that aside because well that should be up to everyone, and that advice should be heeded by those who are most at risk we're at the seeming end of this pandemic.
As you know most of Illinois because Chicago just doesn't know yet, will likely let go of mask mandates by the end of this month. Of course that's for example as O'Reilly discusses other cities and states as well as private venues such as Disneyland.
It makes sense, now the perception becomes if you want all these restrictions on daily life based on vax status or being masked then now it's about power. It's a shame that with a serious disease as coronavirus - many just consider this like influenza - that it's become political virtue signaling as far as whether or not you take your precautions. Time to live with this thing and take to heart what we've learned with this thing, if you're sick stay home or even wear a face mask. Keep washing your hands, etc.
I've ran into people years before this pandemic if I sneeze they move away, they're concerned about getting sick. Besides sneezing or coughing is nothing, however, I won't judge if you do that. I find myself doing it sometimes now.
Still time to end some of these mitigations that we've had to live with since 2020. Time to get back to normal!
[VIDEO] We're visiting with Tim Pool today again with his report on what's going on in Canada in one of his segments from yesterday. The Trudeau gov't in Canada is using emergency powers in response to the ongoing Canadian trucker convoy protest. In other words the gov't is messing with their money.
It's a bit ironic since many Canadian provinces I'm seeing are letting go of their pandemic restrictions. No more masks, no more vax mandates, etc. While it seems the federal gov't of Canada seems to be for the moment doubling down on their pandemic response to the whole nation.
An ongoing thing it seems a continuing conflict between those who say it's time to live with coronavirus and those who still seem intent on maintaining restrictions. Using vax status as a means to keep anyone from using public accomodations.
[VIDEO] Tucker Carlson talks about the response to the ongoing Trucker protest in Canada. One funny thing about this is well if you dont know anything about trucking how can you tell these guys what to do. How do products get to the store shelves for example if no trucker is delivering them? Are you able to replace them?
Of course a lot of this is about the pandemic in some parts of Canada they're doubling down as you might see in the province of Ontario. Also you see Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer who seems to want Canada to clear that bridge outside of Detroit. I'm surprised there aren't more protests of her mandates up there, and she ought to be one of those who will start lifting them as Gov. Pritzker has here.
And the media response is to demonize these truckers or even those who use cryptocurrencies. If you use bitcoin you're a racist, while if you use your nation's currency well you're only helping to fund these officials who keep the mandates going.
I get the feeling one we stop with these mask mandates or vax mandates we still haven't settled down.
[VIDEO] To be honest I haven't really paid attention to the stats on this pandemic perhaps since the early days of the pandemic. Remember two years ago in March it was supposed to be 15 days to bend the curve and well it took more time than that. Then it was controversial to discuss the real science, we couldn't discuss if masks were effective - and if you ask me they're better than nothing however I'm not sure I agree with mandates.
Lately we're starting to ask how effective are vaccines and the booster - and again better than nothing however I don't agree with vax mandates. I start to wonder how effective the vaccines are if they don't prevent individuals from getting infected with coronavirus. Perhaps they do keep individuals from getting sick however it's not the perfect fix either.
I live in Illinois as you know and thankfully there will be no more mask mandate from the state. And hopefully in Chicago/Cook County we'll have no more vax mandates for public venues - restaurants and theaters. It's about time to start living with coronavirus...
And of course let's live in a new world with the precautions perhaps stay home if you're sick - cold, flu, coronavirus. Perhaps if you do have to get out wear a facemask of some sort. Mind your own hygiene and either wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. Always seek the advice of a medical professional on this.
We just got to live with this thing and of course if you're concerned about your risk of illness we have vaccines to take advantage of. I'm sure as things start to return to normal they might no longer be free.
Also excuse me for being cynical and perhaps this doesn't make since however there is an election year coming up, correct? Well yes, there is.
[VIDEO] I sort of hate when Liberal Hivemind gets a bit I don't know if self-congratulatory is the right term. Stacy Abrams is the presumptive Democrat nominee for Governor of Georgia and a Spelman woman and was very close to winning in 2018. I see it's going around in conservative circles that she is unmasked while sitting with a group of children who are wearing masks.
Right now the situation I'm seeing in the news is that well a number of states are discussing dropping their mask mandates. It's being discussed in Illinois although we're not quite there yet as far as it happening. And it seems a controversial issue on the right - and really with many thoughtful parents - is whether or not children must be masked or even vaccinated when they are at very low risk.
[VIDEO] Charlie Kirk opines about a study that illustrated that the lockdowns that marked most of 2020 in some parts of the world and certainly some states in this nation didn't help reduce deaths from coronavirus. Slowly but surely a lot of places around the world are coming to that realization.
Charlie Kirk would emphasize mail-in ballots or Jeff Bezos and others gaining more wealth while people further down the food chain are poorer since many had jobs that were considered "non-essential". Mail-in ballots is a shot at the alleged voting irregularities in the 2020 election. If there were no lockdowns would President Trump have been our president right now.
Of course while he doesn't go there, I will. If there were no ongoing lockdowns since March 2020 perhaps there would be no rioting. Yes that's a shot at the unrest after the death of George Floyd. I'm totally convinced of that.
Either way he's hoping some public health or even public administration scholars seriously study the after effects of gov't policy with regards to a pandemic.
[VIDEO] The Prime Minister of Canada has been taking a bit of a beating with tuckers essentially taking over Canada's capital city since last weekend. This is essentially a protest of the ongoing pandemic response by the Canadian gov't. It should be noted that truckers have shut down the border between Canada and U.S.A. in the vicinity of Montana.
Another fun fact that while the truckers honk against the mandates of the Canadian gov't, it should be noted that it came out in the past week that Prime Minister Trudeau has tested positive for coronavirus. This is although he is vaccinated and has been noted in a variety of sources vaccines are said to keep you from getting very sick, however, it doesn't exactly prevent you from getting infected with coronavirus.
Anyone from Canada reading this blog? Are you involved in this protest? As Trudeau just got through an election just last year, do you think he could survive this?
[VIDEO] Why is this the case? Because of his interview with a Dr. Robert Malone who discusses the mass formation psychosis theory which many seem to consider anti-vax misinformation.
You can see that discussion that Tim Pool notes in the video below. I already posted it here earlier this month. [VIDEO]
Just to clear the air. I'm not anti-vax, however, there is plenty of dis-information going on with both sides as far as this pandemic. The worst part of this misinformation is that one side seems hell-bent on burying any information that they don't like or contradicts their own notions of this pandemic.
Why not share the information from Rogan on mass formation psychosis. I do think the misinformation that's out there is designed to freak out the public. That not only goes for the "virtual-signalers" who are all about masking up, social distancing, or even those who on social media like to advertise that they're vaxed. I would also throw in those people who are anti-vax.
A lot of info on both sides and only sharing info that supports their own agenda. I want to get out of this pandemic, however, I think both sides are making this crisis worse.
[VIDEO] Joe Rogan is discussing this with Dr. Robert Malone a virologist/immunologist discussing society's response to the pandemic. From Dr. Malone's substack article:
As many of you know, I have spent time researching and speaking about mass psychosis theory. Most of what I have learned has come from Dr. Mattias Desmet, who realized that this form of mass hypnosis, of the madness of crowds, can account for the strange phenomenon of about 20-30% of the population in the western world becoming entranced with the Noble Lies and dominant narrative concerning the safety and effectiveness of the genetic vaccines, and both propagated and enforced by politicians, science bureaucrats, pharmaceutical companies and legacy media.
What one observes with the mass hypnosis is that a large fraction of the population is completely unable to process new scientific data and facts demonstrating that they have been misled about the effectiveness and adverse impacts of mandatory mask use, lockdowns, and genetic vaccines that cause people’s bodies to make large amounts of biologically active coronavirus Spike protein.
These hypnotized by this process are unable to recognize the lies and misrepresentations they are being bombarded with on a daily basis, and actively attack anyone who has the temerity to share information with them which contradicts the propaganda that they have come to embrace. And for those whose families and social networks have been torn apart by this process, and who find that close relatives and friends have ghosted them because they question the officially endorsed “truth” and are actually following the scientific literature, this can be a source of deep anguish, sorrow and psychological pain.
And we can also start with someone like Mayor Lori Lightfoot with her recent vax edict. You haven't been vaxed then you can't go to any restaurant or entertainment venue. I think she's been milking this so-called crisis enough times that it really only exposes her ineptness as Mayor of Chicago.
In fact, the damages wrought by lockdowns and social isolation — medical, in terms of reduced exercise, missed medical screenings and increased drug and alcohol consumption, as well as psychological, in loneliness and anxiety — may have been worse than those wrought by COVID itself.
Also, most of the nostrums offered by the experts and Karens are nonsensical and don’t work. Masks outdoors, where COVID doesn’t really spread anyway? Plexiglas screens everywhere? Shut-down public water fountains and a wide variety of service changes in hotels, restaurants and airplanes that are attributed to COVID but really about saving money?
People have seen through this, and they’re over it. (And not just in the United States — a friend in London reports that everyone there is cheerfully going unmasked, crowding into pubs and generally ignoring whatever rules remain nominally in force.)
[VIDEO] Been hearing a whole lot about Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. He's been a thorn in the side of one President Brando... sorry Biden and of course proponents of lockdowns and strict mandates to combat coronavirus. It does appear that there are plenty of forces from other politicians around America to the media who seem intent on discrediting DeSantis. However, DeSantis' star is growing to the point where perhaps in the future he could be a presidential candidate.
If not in 2024 perhaps in '28. He's a relatively young guy believe it or not, however, time will tell if he will make that leap. He sounds as if he will be running for re-election next year in '22 so do another full-term and then go headfirst into a presidential campaign. Well I hope he continues running Florida very well in these difficult times.
This seems to be a trend in places around the nation. Yet let's punish those who for whatever reason won't get vaxed. You might hear off handedly that those who seek medical treatment could be denied that because they didn't get vaxed or take away some privileges if you won't get vaxxed say for example travel or go to a sporting event.
And they tried it in this state a Representative named Johnathan Carroll has backed off of legislation to strip "COVOD health insurance from the unvaxed". It was said that some threats were sent to his office as a result of his proposal. Someone out there isn't happy however I hate that people resorts to violent threats. I don't think that's necessary but some people in these crazy times will take it a bit further...
Citing violent threats, Carroll abandons push to strip COVID health insurance benefits from the unvaxed https://t.co/ErlA3UMYYP
Basically state Rep. Carroll realized that his proposal was divisive as seen in a statement seen in the above tweet from Capitol Fax. Of course saying that the unvaxed assumes certain risks to the point that it's all on you is certainly what's spreading among many in the country as far as whether or not you should be vaxed.
We all want to get out of this pandemic and drop these masks and the mitigations. However it's a problem to see proposals like this which as being seen time and again is only proving to divide people in the vaxed or unvaxed camps. Then wonder why people still choose to go unvaxed....
BTW, if you want to use violent threats please stop and get some help. Better yet find a hobby...
[VIDEO] I'm sorry to say (or am I really) that I hardly ever watched The Daily Show on Comedy Central. Other content other than cable TV has my attention these days and lately one of those piece of content for this post is by Anthony Brian Logan.
The Daily Show is seemingly a must watch for those who are left of center in America and Trevor Noah is the immediate successor to John Stewart who hosted the show for most of it's hay-day until he retired as host.
So according to ABL, Noah has largely toed the party line until the O variant reared it's ugly head. More transmissible but not more lethal and our gov'ts around America is getting ready for more mandates certainly masks and vax, in addition to those dreadful shelter in place orders. This is going to be bad folks and this isn't even about this latest scary coronavirus variant.
Well let's hope not, however, what is Noah talking about. Well he's talking about the restrictions being placed by the Brandon....oh sorry I mean the Biden Administration on travel between the nations of southern Africa. He may well have an issue with this and even he finally recognizes that the latest news over this new scary variant is just more ways to freak out the public needlessly
[VIDEO] Over the weekend we hear about yet another South African coronavirus variant and you got to love the sinister voice Shapiro uses for the Ο variant, very hilarious.
The operative phrase you will hear is that just like other variants in this pandemic it's more transmissible but reportedly not far more dangerous or lethal. I think hearing about these variants with the bad news about this pandemic is more designed to freak people out.
Though regardless take your precautions while the media wants us to panic. And panic just enough where we have to lockdown.
BTW, I want to get one of those Daily Wire truth bombs. Glad to see they're in stock again.
