The Third Superpower

The race keeps getting told as Washington versus Beijing.

Max Tegmark told Bill O’Reilly it is not only that.

There is a third superpower rising, he said. Not China. Not the United States. The machines themselves.

That is the line that lands.

O’Reilly’s long sit-down is We’ll Do It LIVE!, posted September 24. Tegmark is the MIT physicist. It sits next to the Sherman hour from last week.

Ben Shapiro on Tate, Piker, and the Race to the Fringes

Ben Shapiro’s newest episode, Tate & Piker: The Race To The Retard Fringes, is a clean diagnosis of where the loudest edges of American politics are heading. On the left, he tracks the growing comfort with figures like Hasan Piker—who openly celebrates Mao, keeps a Chinese flag in his studio, and treats the body count of communist experiments as a detail rather than a verdict—and the broader embrace of Third Worldism by rising Democratic Socialists. On the right, he notes the continued soft defense of Andrew and Tristan Tate despite the serious trafficking allegations against them. The episode is not a both-sides equivalence. It is a warning that both fringes are abandoning the same core standards.

Watch Shapiro's latest episode here [VIDEO]

Both camps share a deeper posture. They treat the American experiment—individual rights, limited government, the superiority of open societies over closed ones—as either a scam or an inconvenience. The left does it through revolutionary nostalgia and imported grievance. Parts of the right do it through aesthetic toughness that excuses predation. Neither is interested in the hard, unglamorous work of defending institutions that actually produce prosperity and liberty.

Well this has become a Tucker blog has it.

The last video on this blog was from Tucker Carlson who spoke with Vladimir Putin, President of Russia.

Recently Tucker speaks with Chinese ex-pat (actually is she an ex-patriate) Xi Van Fleet. She left China when she was younger to come to America. She witnessed the cultural revolution in China which proved to be a very bloody social upheaval and she fears something similar is happening in these United States. Give it a watch! [VIDEO]

Prager U: Did capitalism save Communist China?

[VIDEO] Chinese scholar Helen Raleigh discusses how China has become one of the world's richest nations. Indeed we go from the Chinese Civil War where the Chinese Communist Party gained control of mainland China to Mao Zedong and his policies and then China's loosening of control over their people. Raleigh sees a trend by the regime of Xi Jinping tightening control over their people.

Stossel: China's dark turn

[VIDEO] In this latest video from John Stossel we see something interesting here. This really isn't breaking news we see here, China does attempt to control what their citizens can access from their homes in China. It's not exactly new that China restricts their citizens' access to western news sources or western social media.

As termed by Melissa Chen of The Spectator who covers what goes in China the Chinese Communists have figured out how to nail Jello to the wall. If you dare go beyond China's firewall and access western websites they will come to your home. Beyond that the Chinese Communists have learned how to manipulate public opinion using their own version of the internet - or perhaps it's more of an intranet.

Now to connect this with the discord going on in America they noted that in this video. The Hong Kong "rebellion" were waving American flags only to find out that some Americans are waving the flag of communism or socialism. The same time that Hong King citizens - known for their very laissez faire capitalism way before the so-called People's Republic of China took control of the Hong Kong territory from Great Britain in 1997 - are fighting against communism. Here in America we see people who want to create their own Marxist revolution in this case using the very dicey subject of race.

Protest Warrior

Worse still there are videos of these activists rioters using the same tactics against Chicago Police for example as the Hong Kong folks are using against PRC authorities. The usage of umbrellas as they hit a line of police officers. I have to do some research as far as what they're trying to accomplish. I do know that Chicago Police in some videos online took to snatching umbrellas out of the hands of these so-called social/racial justice activists rioters.

Here's the reality Chen sees some equivocations here. In the PRC you can't get away with criticizing the Communist Party or the President of PRC Xi Jinping. Here in America if the federal gov't under Donald Trump dares to utilize federal authority to take back control of the streets federal police are referred to as troops and thus constitutes on occupation. And thus authorities in a place Portland, Oregon will continue to allow these protesters leftist mobs to continue their rioting.

Well President Jinping you can't get away with much from him. He'll send you to re-education camps, send someone to your home to live with your family. Since his regime can manipulate public opinion and trample on whatever rights you may have over there. You will pay a price if you in any way speak against his regime.

Here in America if there are those who think there is very little difference between China and USA, many of us do get away with calling President Trump a dictator or worse. If anyone wants to say we're going into a authoritarian or autocratic or dictatorial direction have no idea what that really is.

Tucker: America was a very different country 7 months ago

[VIDEO] Tonite's monologue from FOX News' Tucker Carlson discussing how America right now is turning slowly but surely into Communist China. Especially the curtailment of freedom especially free speech. The erosion of our history by the progressive liberals of the country.

The issue is that many of our leaders as a result of the pandemic have taken the cues from the Chinese Communists. We see how some officials around the nation - for example the Mayor of Los Angeles willing to shut off the utilities of residences who hold "unlawful assemblies".

I really hate the fact that Carlson has been increasingly dour as of late. He did another monologue a month ago about whether or not the left can govern a nation they hate. He brought it up again during his hour and notes that the Chinese are unified, however, with identity politics in this country it seems we can't help but become divided according to our group identities.

Hong Kong continues to fight against Chinese authoritarianism

[VIDEO] The protests in Hong Kong against Chinese control have gone on for three months. And now we see mention in this 11 minute video of some HK activists seeking independence. We learn more about the governor structure of HK which most representatives to the government are really just mainland Chinese communists and prominent stakeholders within Hong Kong.

So whether HK wants universal suffrage for their government or independence it seems the activists of HK will have a real fight on their hands against PRC control of this former British colony.

Hong Kong protests objectives

[VIDEO] I've got a bit of catching up to do on these protests in Hong Kong. HK is essentially an auntomous area of China which was up until 1997 a dependency of the United Kingdom. It's known as a very capitalistic society which probably could do very well in a China that has increasingly accepted capitalism except it remains a single party state ruled by the Communist Party of China.

So basically these protests (which have lasted three months) began when China considered an extradition bill which sparked these protests. Now the protests are over whether or not Hong Kong should be able to elect their own leaders.

Hong Kong is so autonomous they utilize their natural right of free speech by booing the Chinese national anthem. What's emphasized in this video is that in the rest of the People's Republic of China booing the nat'l anthem is illegal. I can only imagine what happens if you do that in Shanghai or Beijing.

Either way what do you think about what's going on in Hong Kong right now? Do you support what the protests are attempting to achieve over there? Do you think it's good that the America response could basically support the HK protestors?

NY POST: Now LaVar Ball owes Donald Trump a $13 million ‘thank you’

You know the first time I ever heard of the Ball clan and this "Big Baller Brand" was on an edition of WWE Raw this past summer. Ball made an absolute spectacle of himself in from of the hometown crowd of Los Angeles, California as he introduced his son Lonzo who was recently drafted and signed by the Los Angeles Lakers. Ball made such a spectacle of himself that another wrestler - who has a similiar persona - had to come out and save that segement [one you can see here].

Then more recently Ball picked a fight with Trump - as we all know thanks to his twitter @realdonaldtrump he is very outspoken himself - who claimed that he helped to release three players from UCLA from custody in China for shoplifting. Those three players included LiAngelo Ball and in a press conference all three said thanks to the President. If they were convicted man China would throw those kids in jail and forgot all about them!

Anyway LaVar turns around and dismisses Trump's role in their release and with the President's Tweets & Ball's comments a war of words commences. I think of Ball as an idiot, but I'll give him some credit all this served to have done is give him and his company publicity.
It pays to pick a fight with President Trump.

That, at least, is the case for bloviating basketball dad LaVar Ball who has earned himself $13.2 million worth of free digital and TV ads since he started feuding with the president on Nov. 17. The number comes courtesy of Apex Marketing Group president Eric Smallwood and was first reported by ESPN sports business reporter Darren Rovell.

Smallwood and his company made their calculations based on how often Ball’s Big Baller Brand — a fledgling sneaker and apparel brand — has been mentioned in the media since Ball and Trump began feuding over the president’s role in getting Ball’s son LiAngelo released from Chinese custody after he was busted for shoplifting with two UCLA teammates.
Mark Dice even had to comment on this recent noting that father Ball trolled CNN's Chris Cuomo [VIDEO]

Of course to this publicity there is a downside, but then the big picture the Ball family and their business is getting some attention.
There is a downside to Ball’s attention grab.

When the feud is mentioned, so is LiAngelo’s sticky-fingered trip to China. Thus, the crime and LiAngelo’s subsequent indefinite suspension from the UCLA basketball team hasn’t faded from view even though there have been plenty of natural endpoints to the controversy. LiAngelo and his teammates are trying to get back in coach Steve Alford’s good graces and onto the floor. This can’t be helping.

On top of that, Lavar’s self-promotion continues put an extra bright spotlight on his oldest son, Lonzo, who is struggling to live up to sky-high expectations as a rookie point guard for the Lakers. So far this season, Ball is averaging 9 points, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds per game but is shooting a stunningly bad 31 percent from the field.
Reality, I've learned that Ball has his supporters who view him as a strong Black father doing his own independent thing. He's doing the entrepreneurial thing and backing his sons two of whom are playing basketball (one in college at UCLA and the other in the NBA with the Lakers) I can definitely respect that even if I may have little respect for his persona.

Chinese graduate student decodes our new President

I just have to admit this could've easily been me, except I'm not going for a PhD nor do I have the extreme focus he did. I truly admire his conclusions, if there were an American student that did the type of political science work that he has.

Via Washington Post:
Yin’s analysis? American journalists, he thinks, blinded by their confidence in American exceptionalism overestimated the strength of U.S. institutions and underestimated grass-roots rage. “I’ve always seen American democracy as a second-rate democracy,” he said, “because the parliamentary system is better in nearly every way.”

From the perspective of one-party China, he argues that the two-party system fuels populist politics, turning democracy into a personality contest. “For too long, the press focused on Trump’s personality and missed the real story — Trump’s supporters,” he said.

To understand “Make America Great Again,” Yin looks to home. Since coming to power in 2012, President Xi Jinping has promised the “great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,” a slogan with similar appeal.

Both messages are both, at their core, conservative, Yin said. They portray “a world in decay, where things will go bad if they do nothing.”

“Good things always happen yesterday. They must preserve and protect. It’s about national pride, traditional values and military might,” he said.
So if I read Yin Hao's conclusions correctly and how he arrived at them Trump's surprise victory last November didn't come out of nowhere. The momentum for Trump as we saw with him on the campaign trail was true. I hope you read the whole thing.

Hat-tip Newsalert! I have to admit, on Sunday I browsed the blog going back to inauguration day to see whatever links Steve Bartin had shared from that day.
