 This news actually broke yesterday and it was shocking. And in his case it warrants this blog post here otherwise it would go on the "Beta".

I wrote a tweet that read something like this

There are a lot of people who take issue with some of Hogan's tall tales or even his alleged racism, I still respect him as a wrestling legend. He was one of the first wrestling champions I cheered. He's not a perfect man, no one is.

A lot of people are saying that Hogan - aka as Terry Gene Bollea - was a racist p.o.s. and the recording that came out within the last decade led to his temporary separation from WWE (the organization formerly known as the World Wrestling Federation or WWF) in about 2015-16. Of course he came back long enough to be booed by the wrestling fans in attendance for Monday Nite Raw's debut on Netflick as he attempted to put over Real American Beer - has latest business venture.

That proved to be his last appearance in front of the WWE Universe.

I used the nice term tall tales, but some people do think of him as a liar. Perhaps telling tall tales of how he put others over and also reports of him trying to protect his top position at the expense of others.

I don't think much of his usage of the N-word or even his attempts to sort of explain himself. Perhaps it's more the stories of how he protected his position in the business when he was still an active wrestler. I may take more issue with that than anything else.

No denying, however, that he is the most recognized wrestler ever. Perhaps there would be now WWE without him the 1980s. He belongs on the Mount Rushmore of pro wrestling although we can debate the other four performers.

As I stated he was the first wrestling champion I ever cheered, and then when he turned heel in WCW and joined the nWo I booed him. I still did when he came back to the organization then known as the WWF. While I might have not let go of his heel persona, I was glad to see the nostalgia and he was cheered by the crowds again in one of his last runs in the now WWE. He sort of adjusted very well to the "Ruthless Aggression" era.

And now he leaves us with memories. He had been in declining health in recent months. Hadn't made many public appearances, even was rarely posting on social media - it was even reported any pics of him were older pics. There were reports that he had been in the hospital for a bit and the last report a day before his demise was he had a damaged trachea.

And then he leaves us to have his last match with the Macho Man Randy Savage who died over a decade ago.

The Onion: Congress forgets how to pass laws

 It's not often I inject humor onto this blog, but this seems timely.

[VIDEO] In spite of the fact that The Onion's bid for Alex Jones' company was effectively rejected by a court once a judgement against Jones for his statements regarding Sandy Hook, this video seems very timely with President Trump's ongoing singing of executive orders.

Granted the U.S. Senate is plenty busy with confirmation hearings right now, but what does both houses have to do right now. I'm not seeing nor hearing much action out of either of them right now.

[VIDEO] The Democratic Nat'l Convention is over, however, now we get to watch Walsh's stellar trolling posing as an alias - the alias featured in his coming documentary Am I Racist?.

In the movie after getting kicked out of a white privilege support group he changes his appearance and becomes a character more fitting to inflitration some of these groups. Even was able to interview Robin DiAngelo author of the book White Fagility. What was his point with this movie? To expose anti-white racism perhaps the fraud that of anti-racism that really singles out a particular race.

Walsh however is somehow exposed and the Dems who know this persona and about him want him removed from their spaces. In the same way they wanted him removed in his documentary from that "support group". 

Even was able to get former CNN anchor Don Lemon to promoted the troll site project2025.com. Oh Walsh you have some major balls for this...

Timcast IRL: Proud Family features critical race theory

 I'm going to share this clip from The Proud Family. It features a speech about how slaves built this country. It almost sounds like something you would hear at school whether or not you would realistically agree. [VIDEO]

I had to think for a moment, how old is this cartoon? I remember it from back in the day, however, in recent years the show had been revived. I really feel for the dad in this program and how devalued he seemed to be, by his own mother or even his wife at least the few times I did watch the show.

I almost thought it was the PJs at first which was produced by Eddie Murphy also from that period of time almost 20 years ago.

Anyway back to the above clip. Ben Shapiro talked about this clip and I will show you a clip from Timcast IRL. The point of the discussion was to illustrate how America is less racist than other nations such as Sweden. Remember Sweden seems to want to be a multicultural country and should be a cautionary tale for America especially when it comes to a lack of real social cohesion and no attempt at assimilation.

It can be stated that President Abraham Lincoln may not have intended to end slavery in America, however, a Civil War was fought in this nation in the 19th century to at least stop the expansion of it. Although one result of that long ago conflict was that slavery ended in America. And of course the continuing usage of racism just as an attack against people with whom you don't like causes that word to lose its sting. [VIDEO]

Well conservatives have seized upon this and critical race theory is used as an attack against that clip from The Proud Family. As stated in last nite's post about the Grammy Awards show from this past Sunday, this only continues the attack about how Hollywood - the entertainment industry - seems to promote an agenda of some sorts a progressive liberal left agenda. And sadly this is being directed at a young audience.

However, who is the program directed towards exactly? If this is for children will they see this clip and remember or know the implications of the messaging here? If I was at a young age watching this cartoon would I remember the messaging here?

I'm not a parent, however, I don't want my children being injected with political messaging. I also wouldn't want my children being injected with adult concepts such as sexuality before they're at an age when they can adequately explore that.

Just got wind of this Steven Crowder thing

 

[VIDEO] I've followed Steven Crowder off an on for many years. He was on PJTV and most recently he worked with The Blaze. He used to make appearances on FOX News. He's know for going onto college campus picking a controversial issue and then debating with students - for example the issue of whether or not there are two genders are an issue on college campuses. He's known for humor and is also known according to Anthony Brian Logan as the biggest conservative personality on YouTube currently.

So what you see here by ABL is Crowder's comments about how right-wing media isn't on the same page as their consumers. And then we hear a response from Jeremy Boreing at The Daily Wire. You see The Daily Wire - who is known for personalities such as Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh, and Candace Owens - made an offer or was in talks with Crowder. Daily Wire wanted to do business.

However, due to Crowder's comments which didn't specifically refer to Daily Wire, Boreing was compelled to respond with documentation of his talks with Crowder. I suppose this has to be a lesson with regards to contract negotiations and how talent should be able to discuss business with a potential employer.

I could liken this to a wrestler or any athlete negotiates with a promotion or a particular team. The promotion or team is a business. Both sides want to make money, however, the business wants to make money with the talent. Of course Crowder is the talent and it's in the best interest of Daily Wire to ensure that Crowder as talent is able to produce content that makes that company money.

I suppose what I'm not entirely clear on is what Crowder was up in arms about for him to make these comments. Is it possible he's only proving to be very difficult to work with?

Wrestlelamia: WWE has just changed forever

 

[VIDEO] As you may know already the longtime WWE Chairman and CEO has announced that he his retiring. Vince McMahon is a bit of a warhorse and as a man who is known for working out - at almost 77 he even wrestled at Wrestlemania earlier this year - I expected that he'd remain an important force for as long as his health would allow.

Then we got these scandals and stories kept coming out. Basically hush money to any former WWE employee or talent and also allegations of sexual harassment. Some people even say did he retire or did they just remove him from his important roles at a company he helped to build.

Sooner or later McMahon would move on even if it's the life cycle that helped that process forward. It's exciting to see what's next for WWE with Vince at the helm of that ship. Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon will be co-CEOs and Triple H is back over talent relations.

Some people take issue with McMahon's ability to create new stars. He has standards that are very high such as he likes big burly men who look like superheroes. And some people criticize his creative abilities. At the same time he brought a former regional wrestling territory to worldwide recognition and who can sneeze at that. If WWE remained a regional territory I doubt that the ig account for Chicago's ABC affiliate would even blast this out on their page.

But then again speculation still remain. Vince likes working, perhaps he'll still be a force for WWE as long as he's still with us. Perhaps once this scandal subsides he might be back in the fold. Who knows, but in a post Vince WWE what will the future hold.

WrestleTalk: Vince McMahon's $12 million payout

 

[VIDEO] I'll let Ollie of WrestleTalk discuss this further, more has come out with regards to McMahon's extramarital affairs and payouts of hush money to various women. I'd say this is going into the territory of this is too much.

Remember last month McMahon had left his roles as chairman and CEO of WWE for his daughter Stephanie McMahon to take over on an interim basis - she was already on a leave of absence.  It was reported that the WWE Board of Directors has launched an investigation into some hush money paid to a former WWE paralegal.

You know it's great to get away from the craziness of the world of politics and the cultural war even if for a moment....

 Just yesterday it was in the news that Vince McMahon the chairman and CEO of WWE was being investigated by his own company for a cash payout to a former employee whom he was having an affair. Recently his daughter and WWE COO - well it was announced fairly recently that she was taking a Leave of Absence from WWE - has assumed the position of chair & CEO until the conclusion of the investigation.

Is the Will Smith/Chris Rock incident at the Oscars a distraction?

 

[VIDEO] I'll let Texan Chad Prather discuss this further. I've been thinking this way since the incident has been dominating the entertainment news since Sunday. I'd rather let Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett handle whatever issues they have and we see Rock and Smith have patched things up to the extent possible. There are more pressing things to worry about like perhaps the Ukraine situation or worry about any increases in food prices...

Timcast IRL: Star Trek GOES WOKE, makes Stacy Abrams President of Earth

 

[VIDEO] Tim Pool and his crew with Daily Wire's Jeremy Boreing talk about a recent episode of Star Trek Discovery. The 2018 Democrat nominee for Georgia Governor who almost narrowly lost that bid and is trying again in 2022 is seen portraying the president of United Earth over 1000 years in the future. 

I hear Abrams - hey can I call her my Spelman Sister - is a Star Trek fan. I hope when I finally run for IL Governor there will be a guest shot available for me in the Star Trek Universe.

When I find video of Abrams' guest shot I'll share it with you on the "beta". I have a tough time following Discovery and they really lost me when they went into the 32nd or 33rd Century. Then again it's not me that determines the creative direction of that program.

CBS Chicago: Jussie Smollett released from Cook County Jail on bond

 

[VIDEO] Shocking development for the moment Smollett's defense team is appealing the sentence handed down in a Cook County court more than six days ago. Remember his outburst after his sentencing about him not being suicidal claiming if anything happened he didn't do it.

It was also in the news however that he was in a mental health ward of Cook County Jail and that he wasn't eating at all during his brief stay in jail. The mental health thing I'm not surprised about based on his outburst, being in jail I think is a very difficult state. I can't credibly sit here in front of you and say I'm hardened criminal and can get used to jail. I know for sure that's not the place for me, no more than it might be for Smollett.

Regardless he has an appeal and he's out on bond and from here we shall see what's next. Will his appeal fail and he might have to further serve his 150 day sentence? I read that for good behavior he could've been out in 75 days. Anyway what's next for this amazing saga?

However the judge's takedown at Smolletts sentence is priceless. I hate to see someone's reputation destroyed, however, how spectacular was this and all it took was staging this rather incredulous hoax.

Mark Dice: Look out! It's "everywhere"!

 

[VIDEO] Mark Dice takes aim at the state of "diversity" in entertainment. No matter how many of a certain skin color you eliminate from our TV programming it'll never be enough for the woke crowd.

Me I like to keep it simple. Just give me good stories and entertainment without feeling as if every single group in the world has to be represented on TV. That's it!

BTW, I was a huge fan of Fresh Prince and definitely enjoyed Living Single when they were on TV. Of course that scratches the surface of great TV programming featuring Black performers and characters.

ALSO, I got a kick out of Dice mentioning the series about a fictional HBCU A Different World.

Liberal Hivemind: Liberals CRACK As Dave Chappelle UNLEASHES On Woke Left In New Comedy Special!

 

[VIDEO] Sadly I don't subscribe to Netflix but anytime you trigger the progressive left liberals and their illogic it's a victory. Dave Chappelle it seems has just done that as Liberal Hivemind documents. The illogic has to be challenged because right now it seems to be winning.

If this illogic has its way, we won't even have comedy. You'll get to the point that nothing is worth making fun of.

Oh I do miss the Chappelle show from Comedy Central, and yes I'm going back about 20 years here.

Spirited Man: We Are In A "FOURTH TURNING," What Does That Mean?

 

[VIDEO] Van Neistat is the brother of one Casey Neistat. Before I ever discovered Casey, there was a documentary show called The Neistat Brothers which aired for one season on HBO. Basically they were doing YouTube videos on premium cable long before Casey made a name for himself on YouTube. Casey and Van are longtime filmmakers and both have taken the YouTube plunge.

Van is a more recent phenomenon and I should've shared this video with you when it was first posted. Van was talking about this book which is called The Fourth Turning. Basically it asserts that what we're experience or have experienced occurs in 80 year cycles. We go through calm periods and then suddenly we're in periods of conflict. And it seems we're in a period of conflict right now.

I really like the idea of Gen X being the nomad generation of fixers. The other descriptions of younger generations as artists or heroes could also be apt for those generations. Time will tell if they will live up to that, right now we need the fixers and of course as time goes on the hero and artist generation will hopefully leave a more peaceful society.

Regardless I need to do more of what Van - The Spirited Man - does which is read. This book seems up my alley for sure.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

 

[VIDEO] I'm sharing the first 10 minutes of the 1939 classic directed by Frank Capra. A film I've only seen once in my life and it left an impression that I wrote about which you can now see on my "Beta" blog.

I'm going to say something crazy here. We're seeing a similar story play out even now. In these populist times who can we consider Mr. Smith because it's not Joe Biden for sure? And we know who the other corrupt players are in the current drama and it could be anyone from the mainstream media to even "big tech".

Now that I talk about it, who wants to bet this all-American classic will be censored because it contradicts the new speak of the troublesome twenties.

I shared a video from Tennapel before just before President Biden's inaugural where he shared a quick video from Mike Lindell about working to get Trump President for the next four years. Well his channel got a strike for that video and it's no longer available.

Now Tennapel has an art channel that's beginning to gain traction. And it started to get traction once he got another strike from YouTube for some of his political videos which is how I first found him. And I never really knew until he mentioned it that he created Earthworm Jim.

How about some Saturday fun w/ Mr. Beast

 

[VIDEO] I'd laugh if Mr. Beast sees this and somehow I get clicks on my ads. :P

This is indicative of some of the stunts that Mr. Beast does. He's very young and years before being a YouTuber became a thing he realized his dream. Among other things he's known for just giving away money at random as he does here.

He's opened a free restaurant where he serves burgers, money and other prizes. Although I don't think he likes it if you attempt to solicit money from him. You have to win it the old fashioned way or just subscribe to his channel.

Also this from Ninth Ward Chicago which also has ads. A reminder that people should be able to eat. I admire him for donating food to his local food banks.

How about a little fun on Saturday nite?

 

[VIDEO] I might have been too young for SNL back then, but it's possible I saw this sketch just about 30 years ago. Rob Lowe satirized Arsenio Hall with this Arsenio Beckman character. My view of this sketch is that it's very funny and satirizes the phenomenon of the Arsenio Hall Show.

On the other hand in this more serious PC society we got people calling this sketch blackface. One way to look at that is Arsenio Beckman is the white version of Arsenio Hall. Lowe is doing his best Arsenio Hall impersonation. However, this whole sketch was over the top which makes it funny.

Just Beckman's imitation of Arsenio Hall's mannerisms. The over the top reaction of the audience. A general portrayal of the hip party vibe of the Arsenio Hall Show. It brings back memories and this sketch is funny, I think just viewing this as nothing more than a blackface sketch is really missing the point of the satire of a pop culture moment.

BTW, I hear that Arsenio Hall back then thought this sketch was funny and even had Rob Lowe on his show one or twice after this.

Mancow for Governor

 I didn't know until reading this that Mancow is no longer on WLS-AM and it amazes me that Erich Muller would even consider a run for office. The premise of this post from the Capitol Fax is that Illinois couldn't be nuts enough to consider Mancow. But then again are we....
