The Default We’re Forgetting

Jeremy Boreing’s latest monologue, Hasan Piker and Candace Owens Are Selling You Third-World Thinking, is one of the clearest things he’s done. He starts with two trials running at the same time in America and uses the distance between them to measure how far we’ve drifted from what made the West different in the first place.

One trial is in a courtroom in Provo, Utah. Prosecutors spent months building a case the hard way: eyewitnesses, security footage, forensics, DNA, handwriting, the actual rifle. Rules bind everyone. The accused is presumed innocent. Evidence has to survive cross-examination. It is slow, adversarial, and impersonal. That process is not natural. It is the product of centuries of deliberate cultural work.

The other “trial” happens behind a podcast mic. There is no judge, no burden of proof, no fixed standard of evidence. Verdicts arrive by likes and shares. Narratives shift week to week. Gossip and social proof do the work that evidence used to do. Boreing points at Candace Owens’ treatment of the Charlie Kirk case as the clearest current example on the right, and at Hasan Piker’s cheerful defense of theft as “collection on a debt” as the left’s version. Different aesthetics. Same underlying operating system.

Matt Walsh on the Subscription Economy Nightmare

Matt Walsh recently released a must-watch video that cuts right to the heart of a growing frustration in modern life.

Watch Matt Walsh's video here: [VIDEO]

In The Subscription Economy Is Killing the American Dream, he exposes how corporations are quietly rewriting the rules of ownership — turning what we thought we bought into something we merely rent, often at the mercy of licensing deals and monthly fees.

Stossel: The deadly -isms

[VIDEO] John Stossel shares the work of Matt Kibbe of Free the People discussing the many deadly -isms of the world. Maoism, communism, marxism, progressivism, fascism, nazism, totalitarianism, or even corporatism. Of course there are some -isms that aren't exactly -isms that are also problematic.

Ben Shapiro: Reaction to Biden's EMBARRASSING town hall

[VIDEO] I haven't completely watched this video as I share this. However, Shapiro notes how the President is quoted as saying "stop whining about your freedom" with regards to any vaccine mandates. He referred to our president as an old authoritarian. We've had a rough few months with Joe Biden as our President and his recent town hall on CNN wasn't that good.

WTF is going on in Australia?

[VIDEO] What Tucker was talking about on his show last week, you might have seen a lot of stories about online. Especially from your favorite conservative personality.

Australia has some very strict lockdowns and so does their neighbor in New Zealand although even that gov't there has recognized they needed to let go of having absolutely zero cases. It's just not going to happen thanks to the Delta variant. Which I haven't heard much news about lately.

What I didn't know is that two states have very strict border restrictions that the federal gov't there wants them to ease. Because they have control over their borders and not letting anyone in they largely have control over infections. Sounds familiar, don't we need tight control over our borders? Don't we need to insure anyone crossing over our borders wherever they're from is free of a disease that can spread rapidly?

You also see video of a man arrested a block away from his house to have a smoke. You can't tell that to the authorities there you're not supposed to leave home, there's a lockdown here. There's a manhunt for a man who's missing who's actually infected by coronavirus which is why they're searching for him. Not only is he clearly ill and not adhering to his quarantine he's flouting the lockdown.

Meanwhile, what happened to this Delta variant? We haven't heard much about it lately. That was supposed to be the next big outbreak, right?

Still you here from our politicians and certainly from authorities in Australia that if you get vaccinated you get more freedoms. Huh! So the police authorities give us our freedom in a pandemic? Isn't that backwards?

I'm sharing this tweet from my Governor to illustrate this point. More vaccinations means more freedom he says.

Allow me to state for the record I'm not anti-vaccination. Especially if you're very much at risk for this disease. The restrictions placed on citizens in this nation starting in March 2020 were prudent until they got extended in my opinion. And then you see the Governor of New York making this a "religious crusade" and replacing those healthcare workers who didn't get vaccinated with Nat'l Guard soldiers. We're getting weird about this now!

Constitution Day

Sadly this is not one of those holidays where we could expect a day off, yet that's not to say this day isn't an important one to mark one of America's important documents the U.S. Constitution. Sadly we mark this day for the beating it has been taking as of late during a worldwide pandemic.

See the Constitution has been taking a beating from day one of its enactment. Today during a worldwide pandemic the issues of public health and individual freedom and the role of gov't are performing a very difficult balancing act.

We want to get out of this pandemic and it's a crime to either fail at social distancing or wearing a mask or currently to go unvaccinated. I saw a story about a hostess at a NYC restaurant assaulted by a patron over a vaccination card. Some places around the country including sports arenas such as Chicago's own United Center you can't attend games unless you have proof of vaccination.

See what I mean about this precarious balancing act. We want to prevent the spread of this virus but we're adding conditions to being able to go about our daily lives as if there is no pandemic.

We also have a President who's willing to bend the constitution to either maintain a national eviction  moratorium and wants to mandate employers of a certain size that their employees must be vaccinated. Expect a court challenge to that also and the administration will just ignore it also.

Yes the constitution is a framework for how our gov't is supposed to operate. It provides for checks against the different branches of gov't. It also legally provides for our God-given rights and understand what I'm saying with this. These rights aren't just give to us by a document they're given to us by our creator. The right to free speech to worship as we choose to bear arms to have a trial by jury to due process are important rights we either take for granted or unfortunately people are willing to take away just because.

We're losing sight of what makes America an exceptional land and how we became this great nation. And if you see these college students, we should be ashamed that they're ignorant of the U.S. Constitution. [VIDEO]

A lot of those students just believe it's outdated because it's old. I'll bet they don't know what parts are outdated. I'm sure for some they might respond to the fact that white men wrote it. They might respond to the three-fifths compromise which really doesn't matter anymore anyway. Those students have no idea what they're willing to abolish!

BTW, if you've never seen the constitution see it here!

Reason: What fear does to our freedom

[VIDEO] 20 years ago 9/11 did for our liberties as coronavirus is doing now. For the past year we had to deal with mask mandates, stay-at-home orders, closing of businesses deemed non-essential, and now President Joe Biden is creating a vaccine mandate for businesses with over 100 employees.

It's a shame that we've arrived in the space where I see people online complaining that they're not social distancing or some people aren't wearing masks or even making wild statements that people who aren't vaccinated doesn't deserve health care. The way things seem to be going perhaps one day the threat of coronavirus will go away but the fear of it and usage of that fear by authorities won't.

Prager U: How to Become a Dangerous Person #MeToo #MeNeither

[VIDEO] If this doesn't scare you about the dangers of social media I don't know what will. A woman who does a podcast raising questions with regards to #MeToo, causes a firestorm. It's not enough that there are people who don't like Nancy Rommelmann's podcast and its premise. They also want to take down her husband's coffee business.

I like that social media provides everyone a platform which you could either choose to consume or not. The problem with social media is it provides everyone a platform and if you're perpetually uninformed and willing to attack that which you haven't educated yourself (something that I could be accused of occasionally) then you have a platform. Such individuals have a platform to remain ignorant and uninformed and then find others of the same mindset.

This is what you see Rommelman discuss in the above video from Prager U. The damage may well have been done, but who knows how much. If I could support her husband's business (Ristretto Roasters) - although I'm not an ardent coffee consumer by any means - then I would. We shouldn't support this ignorance and stand behind it. We should support free expression and of course due process which is how this all started in the first place.

Thank the British if you live in freedom

[VIDEO] John Ruberry posted this video from Prager U. with regards to the British Empire expanding around the world this idea of freedom throughout it's almost worldwide empire. Remember the United States of America was once part of the British Empire until the American Revolution - probably caused by "benign neglect".

Of course Ruberry brings to mind his Irish ancestors and British rule over Ireland that may cause questions to be asked over Britain's ideas of liberating these many lands. Better yet, their role in keeping peace between warring tribes. Allowing people to maintain their cultures and customs although having a strong sense of right & wrong still might put their foot down on practices they may see as barbaric - such as what's noted in the video the live burning of widows.

I just know that there are going to be those who because the British conquered so much land on the globe for so many years that many will attack this video. Yeah when the British landed in the Americas they came into contact with the American Indian or native American and unfortunately there were some skirmishes and even disease that began to lower their numbers. Same for the Aborigines of Australia or even the Maoris of New Zealand. Yeah we may even discuss the role of the British in the Atlantic slave trade although they ultimately resolved to end Slavery in their territories and end the slave trade.

The bad news today is the emphasis has become demonizing certain groups of people. Unfortunately we know so much about the oppression caused by Europeans on different ethnicities or race. The various nations of Europe have over the centuries been at war with each other and sometimes there were some oppression or genocide. These days we know about the Europeans and their brutal colonialism in the Americas, Africa, or Asia.

It was pointed out that for the most part former colonies of Britain often hadn't fallen into the trap of dictatorial governance. Unfortunately I'm not sure that's true, look at Nigeria, Zimbabwe, perhaps to a lesser extent South Africa - where the white minority chose to subjugate the non-white majority which probably is  a worse form of segregation that what we may know of the American south. British colonialism isn't perfect and more so than the end of British colonial rule.

Then again we see some parallels with for example Iraq and Afghanistan after removing their respective regimes during the course of the War on Terror we installed more liberal democracies in those nations. The results from what I've seen has been less than ideal in both countries and both are still dealing with radical Islamic fundamentalist movements in those nations, especially Afghanistan since after 9/11/2001 we removed the ruling Taliban regime from power.

In both of those examples it was certainly foolhardy to even think we should nation-build. With this in mind we could always look at the British example when we may make the ultimate decision to go toe-to-toe with a regime who proves uncooperative as far as their threat to the world.

The American Dream

I honestly don't know whether or not this should be viewed as sad or otherwise...
