Nancy Pelosi steps down

While she will remain in the US House of Representatives she will stand down as leader of the House Democrat caucus. That means the Democrats will have a new minority leader. After 2010 when Democrats lost control of the House she stood down as Speaker and was minority although she did regain the speakership after 2018.

Probably a good thing for Democrats that means they will need new leadership, however, I'd be worried about the caucus going into a further leftward direction.

GOP win slim US House majority

[VIDEO] Former Pres. Trump noted this yesterday in his candidacy announcement, however, it wasn't official. One thing that was easy to predict even if there wasn't this red wave that didn't happen last week was that the Republicans would take the house. Democrats won the US Senate with the call of Adam Laxalt losing to Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto.

Either way the Republicans got 218 seats to say they have control over that chamber and this means a check to President Joe Biden's spending spree. May even mean no more student loan forgiveness....

Tim Pool: Katie Hobbs wins governorship in Arizona

[VIDEO] While I haven't kept up with this particular race, I know that Hobbs' Republican opponent former news anchor Kari Lake is a bit of a firebrand. She was sure she'd win this race and it's out there that Hobbs - who also doubles as AZ Secretary of State and oversees elections there - wouldn't debate Lake. Seeing Lake in action with TV interviews it's entirely possible she'd wipe the floor with Hobbs and perhaps Hobbs knew it with her excuses to not debate.

I hope Lake won't take this sitting down and will file lawsuits and I understand that in a very close election in Arizona a recount is automatic. Here's how automatic a recount occurs

Automatic recounts are required if a candidate or measure is defeated by less than or equal to 0.5% of the total votes cast.

As far as the tally that allegedly put Hobbs over the edge as of last nite

Via azcentral.com

Of course we could ask the question why did it take over a year to count the votes. Hobbs as the overseer of elections in Arizona may have done such a bangup job not only this year but in 2020 also as this was one of the disputed states in that wild Presidential race. Owing to the coronavirus emergency we get the idea of mail-in voting, and perhaps we get these voting supersites that might contribute to why it's difficult to count votes in places like Arizona.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the ongoing trend if American voters start to think that there votes no longer matter if the means is there for one party or the other to cheat.

Ben Shapiro: This is what Republicans can learn from Ron DeSantis

[VIDEO] As we should've learned from this election around the nation, anyone can be better than this joker is not a winning strategy. The populace may not be happy with say President Biden, however, that doesn't motive them to vote for anybody against Biden aka Let's go Brandon.

DeSantis as Governor of the free state of Florida is a strong leader and the red wave his Florida this past Tuesday. Oh another quick note they didn't have issues counting votes as was the case in other states such as Nevada - who's Governors and US Senate races were called days after election day - and Arizona where votes are still being counted for Governor.

Still there is only one Ron DeSantis, however, perhaps even if blue states had their own version of DeSantis. At least one who is very principled and can govern where would many of these states be. Who could be Illinois' DeSantis for example? And what about states like California or New York?

Ben Shapiro: Why we lost. How we win?

[VIDEO] He explains why the red wave became a red trickle. Did Donald Trump's continued insistence that the 2020 election was stolen from him cause voters to pull back from a red wave? They didn't want to elect Republican candidates who believed that there was widespread voter fraud in 2020.

On the other hand Republican voters wanted to elect someone who can govern. Yeah you might want someone who can fight cultural war issues and of course fight the media, however, the main thing is that you want someone who can govern. A good candidate even if they don't win at the top of a ticket can go down ballot and elect Republicans down the ballot.

So the questions stands. Does this bode well for Trump running for President in 2024? Perhaps Ron DeSanctimonius will show himself as the future of the GOP in 2024? Time will tell just two more years to go!

O'Reilly: Speaker Pelosi is finished

[VIDEO] It appears that the GOP will be on their way to gaining control of the US House of Representatives. According the ABC News outfit Five Thirty Eight so far the GOP has 211 seats to 201 for the Democrats. That means voters in many congressional districts will have effectively fired Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House.

As for Bill O'Reilly here he says that Speaker Pelosi is finished. Her caucus isn't likely to hold their majority as she predicted. He also claimed she's severely damaged the nation. It would be amazing if she held onto even being minority leader in the House. And she's almost 80 if she isn't already, time for some new blood. However, new blood means a more left-leaning progressive caucus and that might not be good for the Democrat Party.

Once the GOP secures those seats to give them a solid majority

What red wave?

[VIDEO] Red Eagle Politics on YouTube is a must follow if you want to see Republican analysis across the nation. And he sees how yesterday's red wave became nothing more than a trickle. And clearly the GOP has some work to do to energize the base that gave Donald J. Trump his sole term in the White House.

I would say in New York - I was hoping Zeldin would take out Kathy Hochul and he didn't - they need to re-energize the GOP there. And at least there are some GOP flips for Congress. Then there's Pennsylvania, the GOP there needs work a horrible candidate for Governor in Mastriano and then there is Mehmet Oz who lost to a man who just seems very incapable of handing the rigors of being a US Senator.

We got some historical firsts such an out lesbian winning the Governorship in Massachusetts. The third Black man to win a US Governorship in Wes Moore he won last nite.

We see that Herschel Walker will be in a runoff against my Morehouse Brother and US Sen Raphael Warnock in the Senate Race in Georgia. My Spelman sister Stacey Abrams lost to incumbent GOP Gov. Kemp and actually conceded!

Well what does it look like right now well some states are still counting such as in Nevada and Arizona. Of course there will be a run-off for the Senate seat in Georgia. Republicans may well have a small majority in the US Congress. That will be good for the country under the circumstances.

And of course another thing to add, could this not bode well for former President Trump's bid to regain the Presidency in 2024. Does this further strengthen Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as the future of the national GOP in 2024. DeSantis won re-election for Florida Gov. last nite as well in dominating fashion against former GOP governor and Democrat nominee for Governor Charlie Crist.

Billly O's bold prediction

[VIDEO] If you don't want to watch if the GOP takes Congress after the midterm elections in two weeks and once installed in January that there will be increased pressure to force President Joe Biden to resign from office. I think Bill O'Reilly has been talking about it on No Spin News, the state of President Biden's cognitive ability and perhaps he even noted the possibility that he could resign the office due to health reasons. Remember Biden is approaching 80 and in the election we were concerned about his cognitive ability as he continued to sit in his basement in Delaware while President Donald Trump has to deal with the real issues plaguing America in 2020.

I thought O'Reilly was going to talk impeachment. Instead could Biden be forced to resign of course you know what that means we get that cackling fool Kamala Harris as the first female POTUS. While the progressive movement may well need a new champion and perhaps not the puppet that Biden has been that experiment has failed. I doubt V.P. Harris will be very effective.

The last two years of Joe Biden I expect will only pave the way for the return of the GOP to the White House, especially with possibly Donald John Trump as the 47th POTUS. Or perhaps the 48th if Harris succeeds to the President upon possibly the resignation of the current incumbent.

How about a little balance today

Rich Miller wrote about these "pink slime" papers in his syndicated column. I'd say give it a read, especially if you've actually seen one of these newspapers.

He would say in this the big loser is the Daily Herald since they had a hand in the publishing of these papers. Proft's "pink slime" rags had a contract with a printing house that was connected with the suburban Daily Herald newspaper. The Daily Herald's reputation took a hit once the connection was uncovered.

I guess the question I still have is will this affect the election in November...

Marathon Pundit discusses "pink slime" newspapers

John Ruberry makes reference to some newspapers sent to residents in some parts of the Chicago area published by a printer in association with the suburban Daily Herald. I somewhat know about this because it has been reported on the Capitol Fax.

The person who is responsible for this "pink slime" pieces is longtime conservative activist and one-time gubernatorial candidate Dan Proft who also is running TV ads in this election cycle paid for by People who play by the rules PAC. Ruberry's thesis is that:
With occasional exceptions, the newsrooms of Illinois’ major newspapers are woke echo chambers. They still claim to be the watchdogs for the public, but these so-called journalists are mostly interested in protecting and advancing leftist narratives. Contemporary reporters are a toxic combination of “the cool kids” in high school, with all of their arrogance, and the false ethical superiority of Iran’s morality police. Community newspapers usually only report on petty crime, but if you need to locate the nearest bake sale, well, you know where to find that information. These weekly papers are in fact weakly ones.

If the Illinois media performed their jobs honestly and capably, there’d be no need for “pink slime.”

So allow me to talk about the governor's race in Illinois. Once the primary election was settle in June for the most part most of the focus of the ads I've seen on TV or online had been abortion. I can't say I've seen many ads from Darren Bailey who is the Republican nominee for gov. The Pritzker campaign and I'm sure other  PACs were running ads regarding abortion and certainly using those ads to highlight Bailey's stance on abortion. Basically they emphasize that be doesn't believe in allowing for the exceptions of life of the mother or rape/incest.

Of course at the same time what are the issues of these pink slime papers. The Safe-T act, which has been derided online primarily as a PURGE act. Ever heard of The Purge movies, I have it seems so depressing and dire that a law was written to effective allow almost anything. I've seen the defenses for this act and they seem reasonable.

However, one good point to be made is that politicians from Gov. Pritzker to Attorney General Kwame Raoul are talking about making some tweaks to that law. And Ruberry notes that the law would be effective after the general election in November. So perhaps the Democrats who control this state are worried that this law could affect their electoral prospects.

So basically aside from abortion crime is an important issue. People want to be safe from the criminal element and especially true in Chicago.

Time will tell if this "pink slime" rags are in anyway effective in influencing the results of the 2022 race.

CNN: Hear Bill Clinton's prediction about the next election

[VIDEO] Compared to Joe Biden and today's Democrat Party, Bill Clinton is a much saner voice. Alas those radicals whom former President Clinton might say they need to temper their message and not seem so radical would probably shun him. Besides the staff of his wife and former 1st Lady and former Democrat nominee for President in 2016 Hillary Clinton largely had and we see how that worked out.

Mark Dice: Bye bye Liz Cheney

[VIDEO] Dice rubs in last nite's primary loss in Wyoming of at-large Congresswoman Liz Cheney - daughter of former Vice-President Dick Cheney. And he shows the ad that the former VP (or shadow President to George W. Bush) and using sounds of Darth Vader breathing, heh.

AP: Omar ekes out House primary win over centrist in Minnesota

On this blog I rarely go heavily into political analysis other than what's already in the news. I just found this interesting from primary nite in Minnesota. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is one of the members of The Squad often a group of female members of the US House of Representatives such as AOC, Ayana Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, and more recently Cori Bush. The Squad is are very progressive Democratic socialists who hold such views as defund police.

So Rep. Omar had won a much closer primary to a more moderate Democrat in his Twin Cities congressional district.

Omar, who represents Minneapolis and is one of the left's leading voices in Congress, has defended calls to redirect public safety funding more into community-based programs. She squared off with former City Councilmember Don Samuels, whose north Minneapolis base suffers from more violent crime than other parts of the city.

Samuels argued that Omar is divisive and helped defeat a ballot question last year that sought to replace the city police department with a new public safety unit. He and others also successfully sued the city to force it to meet minimum police staffing levels called for in Minneapolis' charter.

Samuels said his narrow loss shows that Omar is beatable: “If this was the general election, no doubt that we would have won this race." Omar countered, “Tonight’s victory is a testament to how much our district believes in the collective values we are fighting for.”

What I see in that article is a lot of references to "defund the police" and Rep. Omar is a proponent. She still won however.

Last week Laura Ingraham visited those parts of Minneapolis that were heavily affected by the rioting after George Floyd's death in 2020. Those viewing her FOX News program found that the high crime has even bled into downtown MPLS. Police staffing levels are lower since the political establishment there aren't putting much effort into meeting minimum staffing levels. They may still believe in this idea as noted in the quote above of "abolish the police".

Of course here's one thing that confuses me:

“She’s had a lot of adversity already and pushback. I don’t think her work is done,” said Kathy Ward, a 62-year-old property caretaker for an apartment building in Minneapolis who voted for Omar. “We’ve got to give her a chance.”

A chance for what exactly? More of the same. She needs more of a chance to abolish police.

I found some numbers for Rep. Omar's race here from FOX 9 in MPLS. The numbers and percentages are real close.

Gov. DeSantis is a true leader

[VIDEO] This video was published today. Down there is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is suspending Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren

As I post this I'm going through the video and see Gov. DeSantis cite the issues in Los Angeles and San Francisco for their prosecutors failing to adequate prosecute criminals. Even cite that in S.F. - reminder they recalled their prosecutor as crime rose there - you can steal a certain amount of merchandise and you won't be arrested nor prosecuted.

Here's why:

DeSantis said Warren put himself above the law by signing letters saying he would not enforce any prohibitions on sex change operations for minors and would not prosecute abortion cases. He made the latter statement after Roe v. Wade was struck down by the Supreme Court.

"It's not for (Warren) to put himself above that, and say that he is not going to enforce the law," DeSantis said at the news conference. "We don't elect people in one part of the state, to have veto power over what the entire state decides on these important issues.

"The constitution of Florida has vested the veto power in the governor, not in individual state attorneys. And so when you flagrantly violate your oath of office, when you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty, you have neglected your duty, and you are displaying a lack of competence to be able to perform those duties. So today we are suspending State Attorney Andrew Warren effective immediately."

I know some states have the ability to remove - independent of recall - of prosecutors. Particularly elected prosecutors like Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx who got a second term in 2020. In this state, I'm not aware of such a process and voters can't recall her. So we get to recall her in 2024 when voters choose the next POTUS because it definitely won't be Joe Biden running again.

Either way he doesn't mention the issues of Manhattan where a prosecutor there District Attorney Alvin Bragg is engaging in the practice that got Mr. Warren suspended and ultimately to be removed from office. Crime is rising in NYC especially in Manhattan. The Governor of NY is Kathy Hochul, she's running for re-election and hopefully crime is important to voters there. She's not taken any action yet from what I can tell.

Here in Illinois - Chicago area especially crime is an issue. Our Gov. J.B. Pritzker seems to run ads about making Illinois a haven for abortions. How about making this state safer for your citizens? What are we going to do about rising crime in an important urban center such as Chicago?

So anyway, the above video shows how Gov. DeSantis right now is my favorite Republican right now. I do hope he becomes POTUS one day, even as soon as 2024. Sorry Trump you were great too, however, DeSantis is the future!

Rubin Report: MSNBC guest ugly racist reason why GOP likes this Black Republican

[VIDEO] I don't normally watch MSNBC, however, I often just marvel at the comments made by the various personalities on that network. Elie Mystal comments on the Georgia US Senate race between former football legend Herschel Walker and incumbent - and Morehouse Man - US Sen. Raphael Warnock.

So basically Mystal states that the Republicans want from their negroes - yes he says this out loud - a lack of independent thought. No real grasp of public policy. Just do as Republican Leader Mitch McConnell tells you to do.

I wish I had shared more of his thoughts with you all. He's outspoken though it seems he just can't look at anything beyond the veil of race. I wonder how he'd do outside of the mainstream media circuit.

The Republican gubernatorial primary 2022

Well the state of the GOP in Illinois is discussed in this column by Rich Miller. Illinois has a history of electing liberal Republicans from the late Jim Thompson to Jim Edgar to George Ryan and to perhaps a lesser extent Bruce Rauner.

With that said I've always thought it strange that in a state that seems to not like conservative Republicans, if you're not that conservative you're a RINO. And we're seeing that play out in the Republican primary which will be held at the end of June.

Richard Irvin could be described as more moderate he might be closer to Thompson, Edgar, and even Ryan. He wants to paint himself as a conservative and unfortunately he's had some downstate Republicans paint him into a different corner. It shows his closest opponent is Darren Bailey a downstate farmer most well known in this state for opposing Gov. Pritzker's pandemic mandates.

The last debate I saw Richard Irvin - mayor of Illinois' second largest city of Aurora - there were references to Irvin being a closet Democrat. There were references to Irvin who has pulled a lot of his TV attacked Bailey - a sitting state senator - as a Biden supporter were more or less dividing this state's GOP. It seems from a strong rollout there was enough time for the tide to turn.

To be honest, I was somewhat excited about voting for someone who could be the Republican nominee for Governor who happened to be a Black man and hopefully that person defeating J.B. Pritzker handing him a re-election loss. Perhaps it's saying something, now I'm not so sure.

Those millions given to Irvin's campaign by this state's wealthiest resident a man by the name of Ken Griffin - he has his name on the Museum of Science and Industry. Seems to have not done much good, and worse still Griffin himself will likely be outspent.

My final comment to this is, it seems difficult to be a Republican in this state. You can't be too conservative and that's true for the Chicago area which is where most of the voters in this state are. At the same time you can't be seen as a "RINO". And now we can add, you can't allow yourself to be seen as selling your soul to a billionaire.

Timcast: Democrat Launches INSANE Ad With NOOSE On His Neck

[VIDEO] And the rest of the title to the above video is "[Democrat] Party CRUMBLING As Voters Vote Republican" I got to find this ad by Democrat US Senate candidate Charles Booker attempts to unseat Sen. Rand Paul. BTW, Pool notes if Booker wants to accuse Sen. Paul of racism that Paul actually did propose a Breonna Taylor law after her unfortunate death during a no-knock police raid.

Paul is a libertarian in general like his father former Congressman Ron Paul. I think Paul generally supports the rights of individual people and that may mean more restrictions on the actions of law enforcement. Of course there seems to be a variety of opinion among libertarians on law enforcement, however, whats the general consensus respect individual rights.

I found the ad Mr. Booker is making allusions to the unfortunate history of racism in this nation specifically mentioning lynching. Would this strong imagery cause me to want to vote for him? Well it doesn't matter since I don't live in the Bluegrass State, however, what if Tim Pool and some of the comments to this video are correct and this ad causes long-time Democrats to instead vote Republican or instead vote for Republican Sen. Rand Paul. [VIDEO]

We're a long way from November and the predictions so far - unless we get some weirdness - is that Republicans could retake both houses of Congress. Again we shall see.

Liberal Hivemind: The Biden COLLAPSE is here

[VIDEO] The Brando...Joe Biden administration has been in office over a year already and he seems to be a very rough year. And now that we're in the year of the midterm election the expectation is of a Republican blowout in the U.S. Congress. And consider that the margins in the House of Representatives are razor thin and the Senate is 50/50. Biden can't get his agenda passed, Build Back Better and a voting rights proposal stalled in the Senate thanks to two Democrats who hail from either a red state or a purple state it's not looking good.

So Hivemind looks at the so-called Bra....Biden collapse.

LTE: How THIS primary could ruin GOP's chances in Georgia

[VIDEO] Let's Talk Elections takes a look at the primary next year for Georgia Governor. Incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp does have primary challengers in this race and barely eked out a victory in 2018 when he faced off against former state Rep. Stacy Abrams. In 2018, then Secretary of State Kemp had the endorsement of then President Donald Trump to be able to beat a challenge in his primary. In Georgia if you fail to get more at least 50% of the vote in an election there must be a run-off.

So if you look at the 2018 election page in the GOP primary runoff. You see that Kemp actually was losing to then GA Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle. With Pres. Trump's endorsement Kemp was successful in his runoff election and went on to win against the Democrat Abrams.

Of course since we had the fallout from the 2020 president race and the perception that Gov. Kemp wasn't as much help as Trump sought to "overturn" the results in GA the incumbent Governor won't get the former President's endorsement. Now that endorsement goes to former US Senator from GA David Perdue. He also had former state Rep. Vernon Jones in the primary - he is a former Democrat and spoke at the 2020 Republican convention.

Either way we shall see what happens. It was a bit shocking that both of GA's US Senate seats went Democrat which I could attribute to the fallout from Pres. Trump's continued attempts to challenge the now Pres. Joe Bran....Biden's election victory. GA is a state I had viewed as a solidly red state, however, the work of Stacy Abrams may well show the GA is in fact a purple state thanks to some demographic changes.

This race in a predicted red wave year should be an interesting one. Perhaps we shall see if Abrams could become GA's first Black woman and first Spelman woman to become Governor.

Should Mancow Muller run for Governor?

[VIDEO] Mancow who I've been listening to for years is very politically minded. He even considers himself as a Libertarian in some respects. He's a known quantity who through his career in radio has a number of listeners. The question to ask is whether or not that will translate to politics.

Mancow has an active YouTube channel which he launched earlier this year after leaving his hosting gig at WLS-AM. And some of his recent videos involves scantily clad women in fact he was considered something of a shock jock.

Well it's politics and no matter what you do you can't win them all. Just ask Donald Trump and he wasn't an awful President just one most of us wasn't used to. Who knows if Mancow's celebrity on the radio especially on the FM dial will translate to being able to edge out the billionaire incumbent Gov. J.B. Pritzker.

BTW, Pritzker's name is being floated as a potential presidential contender if Joe Biden finally crashes and burns in time for 2024. Time will tell, however, Adlai Stevenson our current Governor is not

Regardless, I have often got the feeling that Mancow will back off of this. We shall see this time, this is probably the most serious that I've seen of him on this. The freedom message is a good one but will the Land of Lincoln listen?

RELATED: Mancow for Governor just last year...
