Bill O’Reilly’s Talking Points Memo on the July 21 No Spin News episode zeroed in on Minnesota and called it what he sees: Loonville. The claim is straightforward. Rough progressives now control roughly fifteen states. In those places, ideology has crowded out ordinary standards of accountability, crime, and common sense. The concrete case is Tou Lue Vang, a Hmong man from Laos convicted in 2006 of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He repeatedly sexually abused a girl beginning when she was ten. He received probation rather than prison. In June 2026 the Minnesota Board of Pardons—Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and the state Supreme Court chief justice—voted to erase the conviction. The board cited a letter of forgiveness from the victim and immigration concerns. The pardon removed the legal basis for his pending deportation.

Ben Shapiro’s latest episode examines the recent conviction of Karmelo Anthony and what it says about changing race relations in the U.S. A case that might have triggered widespread unrest in past years unfolded with relative calm. Here’s a clear breakdown of the facts and why this feels different.
On April 2, 2025, at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas, 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony (now 19) fatally stabbed 17-year-old Austin Metcalf. Both were student-athletes—Anthony from Centennial High, Metcalf from Memorial High. A rain delay sent athletes seeking shelter under team tents.
Witness accounts indicate Metcalf and his twin brother asked Anthony to leave their school’s tent. Words were exchanged, followed by light pushing. Anthony reportedly said something like “Touch me and see what happens.” He then pulled a knife from his backpack and stabbed Metcalf in the chest. Metcalf was unarmed. Anthony claimed self-defense.
On June 9, 2026, a Collin County jury convicted Anthony of murder after brief deliberation. He received a 35-year sentence (eligible for parole after about 17 years). The self-defense claim was rejected.
Well this weekend has been exciting. I wonder if this blog post title will age well.
As of now the President of Venezuela, a man named Nicolas Maduro and his wife are in US custody. US Special Forces - actually the US Army Delta Force - went onto a military base in the national capital of Caracas and captured the first couple of Venezuela.
Also let's also state the official line from the Trump administration that President Maduro isn't considered the legitimate leader of this South American republican. The reasoning for his capture and the fact that he did stand in Federal court in New York is based on charges of "narcoterrorism"

In sharing this with you all, I wanted to remind you that an anniversary is coming up. George Floyd's death at the hands of Minneapolis Police five years ago. It touched off a very chaotic period in American cities and eventually moved around the world.
The civil unrest that took place around the country in the wake of Floyd's death happened during the pandemic as the world began to sort of open up after a time of mitigation efforts. My belief is that this wouldn't have been as problematic if people weren't largely isolated in their homes in an effort to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
Harmeet Dhillion is currently the head of the Civil Rights Division in the Trump administration. And she discusses why American cities had become very unsafe and she often cites these federal consent decrees. Earlier in the past week, the public found out that former football legend & accused double murderer O.J. Simpson had passed away from cancer. The first time I heard about it, I was watching the PBD Podcast while he was speaking with former ESPN personality Sage Steele.
In posts like this it's customary for me to at R.I.P. however in light of his infamy I'm avoiding that. For me, I'm taking no position on whether or not he committed the murder. In my own head a jury of his peers judged him to be not guilty in the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her buddy Ron Goldman.
We could debate - well if it really is a "debate" - whether or not O.J. was guilty of this gruesome murder. IMHO, if he did commit the murder I feel as if his life had unravelled in ways that may signal that perhaps he was part of that. I look at his most recent conviction where he had been sent to prison for robbery in Nevada between 2007 and 2013 when he was released.
On Ben Shapiro they showed clips of him from an interview that never aired on FOX. He discusses in some real detail the murder - I see it was involving his book If I Did It - and his detail seemed too real even if he did call it hypothetical. I see a man who really has difficulty processing what he had done. Another clip showed him joking using a banana like a knife stabbing into the air and mocking the music to the classic film Psycho. Again this just seems like a man unraveling.
Everyone is different for sure, however, killing another human being should take it's toll on anyone. My hope is that if he truly did the crime that at the time of his death he prayed for forgiveness. And however his life unravelled I just hope the first thing that weighed on him was guilt!
When this whole story took place I was still in grade school and making the transition to my high school years. The trial finally concluded during my high school years when my French teacher rolled a TV into the classroom so that we could watch the reading of the verdict. I probably cheered though the case is known for its division along racial lines.
For me in my young head I probably didn't pay much attention to that. It was difficult for me to recognize how someone who was as well-known as O.J. could effectively throw his life away like this. In California, murder either gets you sent to prison for life or they can execute you (California hasn't executed anyone in years, however, they still have the death penalty).
One of his attorney's on the so-called "dream team" the late Johnnie Cochrane said it best himself years later, Blacks probably cheered because they saw a Black man with money beat the rap. He also stated he'd be sick to his stomach if he learned O.J. had done it. Of course with attorney client privilege I can only wonder if Mr. Cochrane knows the truth himself anyway.
Also I was aware of the racial division of this case. They got the bogey man in former LAPD police detective Mark Fuhrman. This was at least three years after the L.A. Riots which was the result of a brutal police beating of Rodney King. Perhaps while one segment of the population saw this case for what it was, another seemed to have wanted the "racist" justice system to take a hit by getting O.J. acquitted.
For me, yes I wanted justice to prevail however I wanted O.J. to be innocent. Again I didn't want to believe he'd thrown his life away by doing this. Of course in later years we see how his life had turned out.
In recent years he's shown himself on what he calls "Xworld" formerly Twitter where he rants on things such as sports. He event commented on his health which was one of the last rants he had before his demise was announced on Twitter.
On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer.

I would say another thing he just failed to avoid or attract was the spotlight. For me, knowing how this "debate" was still going on after his acquittal I've always wondered why he never could stay low?
In his case I'm most certainly fine with the idea that he asked for forgiveness when the inevitable happens. Who wants to think about that part of life? However again I hope he feels guilt over what happened, I suppose we'll never really know how that whole event went down.

Basically the federal gov't under President Biden effectively indicting his predecessor and possible 2024 election opponent Trump.

Yesterday was an historic day, the first time a former President has been brought up on criminal charges.
These charges brought up against Donald J. Trump regarding whatever hush money payments offered to former adult actress - well I mean she did the skin flix - Stormy Daniels when Trump ran his successful 2016 campaign for President. The controversy was the fact that Alvin Bragg - who is currently the Manhattan District Attorney who presides over a high crime rate in the NYC borough of Manhattan - brought up what is described as federal charges against Trump.
So many on the right will describe this as a politically charged prosecution. So this happened during at least 2015 and 2016. Why didn't the FEC do anything? Certainly why didn't even the NY US Attorney do anything?
Another thing to look at is coverage. My perception is that there were some networks who were playing up yesterday's events. Trump was expected to surrender for his arraignment. Other headlines state that he was arrested. I suppose my comprehension is more or less did he have to be arrested in order to appear in court to hear criminal charges?
Is there a lawyer in the house who can answer this? Wait from FOX 5 NY:
Technically, while Trump went through the booking process ahead of the arraignment, he was considered to be "under arrest" and in custody.
But he wasn't handcuffed and he didn't sit in a jail cell, in part because parts of the courthouse were cleared out for his arraignment — and because Trump is a former president with Secret Service protection.
Trump only faced "getting arrested" – like how it's portrayed in the movies – if he didn’t voluntarily turn himself into the court ahead of his arraignment, which he did.
The logistics and security of Trump’s surrender were worked on for several days, according to sources, and included collaboration from the U.S. Secret Service, New York Police Department, FBI, New York State court officers and the DA's office.
And again Bragg or anyone else who was pursuing any legal action against Pres. Trump are only causing themselves to be open to this:
Trump then flew back to his Florida home, Mar-a-Lago, and appeared in front of several hundred supporters on Tuesday night. He repeated ongoing claims that the investigation was politically motivated, attacking Bragg and the judge in the New York case, the judge's family, and other prosecutors investigating him in other cases.
"The only crime that I have committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it," Trump said.
"The payment records, kept and maintained by the Trump Organization, were false New York business records. In truth, there was no retainer agreement, and Lawyer A was not being paid for legal services rendered in 2017," the statement of facts said, referring to Cohen. "The Defendant caused his entities' business records to be falsified to disguise his and others' criminal conduct."
Falsifying business records is typically a misdemeanor under New York law, but can be charged as a felony if done with an "intent to defraud [that] includes an intent to commit another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof." Prosecutors said Trump's conduct was intended to violate election laws.
Well, now the right wingers who support Trump will begin to ask the question as far as whether or not this could be proven in a court of law? And hopefully honest and fair lawyers are looking at whether or not this case could even go to trail.
The next time the former President will be in court is later this year December 4th. And by that point its time to campaign for the Presidency as he will be. When is the New Hampshire primary and Iowa caucuses?
[VIDEO] Alvin Bragg is the "Soros" funded District Attorney of Manhattan - just think who does the prosecution for Law & Order TV series. Anyway what's been discussed in the news and I mostly follow this from the perspective of conservative media is the politically charged prosecution of the 45th POTUS Donald Trump.
We hear about this woman Stormy Daniels who claims to have had an affair with Trump and thus hush money was paid to her. Bragg wants to lift this from a misdemeanor to a felony - which according to Legal Eagles you have to prove there was an intent to do this to commit another crime. And also could this involve campaign funds?
Meanwhile there is a serious crime problem in New York beyond the affairs of a former President for whom this occurred before he became POTUS and thus why is Bragg soft on crime?
[VIDEO] That whole situation on January 6, 2021 when Donald Trump before he left office rallied his supporters and urged them to peacefully protest at the US Capitol as the US Congress counted all the electoral vote has become the "insurrection".
If you watch people like Glenn Beck or even Tucker Carlson and others you see that it became a reason to hold a number of people for months without a trial. It became a means to try to impeach a President who left office. It became another means to further demolish political opposition as so-called insurrectionists.
However, as you might have seen from Tucker Carlson or as you see from Beck now we see that the public has been manipulated. That was a scary day and it's shocking to see American citizens forcibly enter the US Capitol breaking windows and what not. And then we see that perhaps what might've been reported on CNN or any other liberal news network isn't what we thought it was.
Believe me, I supported Trumps efforts to challenge the 2020 election but then there was hardly anything that could reasonably be done to change the results of that election. Unfortunately the former President wasn't able to flip those disputed electoral votes from states such as Georgia & Arizona especially.
Still January 6th was a scary day, it seemed Americans lost control in a year of a pandemic or even horrible rioting during a pandemic. I hope we don't see that again. At the same time, Americans doesn't deserve propaganda, but the truth and true justice.

[VIDEO] This video was published today. Down there is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is suspending Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren.
As I post this I'm going through the video and see Gov. DeSantis cite the issues in Los Angeles and San Francisco for their prosecutors failing to adequate prosecute criminals. Even cite that in S.F. - reminder they recalled their prosecutor as crime rose there - you can steal a certain amount of merchandise and you won't be arrested nor prosecuted.
DeSantis said Warren put himself above the law by signing letters saying he would not enforce any prohibitions on sex change operations for minors and would not prosecute abortion cases. He made the latter statement after Roe v. Wade was struck down by the Supreme Court.
"It's not for (Warren) to put himself above that, and say that he is not going to enforce the law," DeSantis said at the news conference. "We don't elect people in one part of the state, to have veto power over what the entire state decides on these important issues.
"The constitution of Florida has vested the veto power in the governor, not in individual state attorneys. And so when you flagrantly violate your oath of office, when you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty, you have neglected your duty, and you are displaying a lack of competence to be able to perform those duties. So today we are suspending State Attorney Andrew Warren effective immediately."
I know some states have the ability to remove - independent of recall - of prosecutors. Particularly elected prosecutors like Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx who got a second term in 2020. In this state, I'm not aware of such a process and voters can't recall her. So we get to recall her in 2024 when voters choose the next POTUS because it definitely won't be Joe Biden running again.
Either way he doesn't mention the issues of Manhattan where a prosecutor there District Attorney Alvin Bragg is engaging in the practice that got Mr. Warren suspended and ultimately to be removed from office. Crime is rising in NYC especially in Manhattan. The Governor of NY is Kathy Hochul, she's running for re-election and hopefully crime is important to voters there. She's not taken any action yet from what I can tell.
Here in Illinois - Chicago area especially crime is an issue. Our Gov. J.B. Pritzker seems to run ads about making Illinois a haven for abortions. How about making this state safer for your citizens? What are we going to do about rising crime in an important urban center such as Chicago?
So anyway, the above video shows how Gov. DeSantis right now is my favorite Republican right now. I do hope he becomes POTUS one day, even as soon as 2024. Sorry Trump you were great too, however, DeSantis is the future!
[VIDEO] So Tucker Carlson on Friday discussed politically motivated justice. The type of justice you might expect to see in totalitarian and communist regimes.
So the January 6th committee is something similar. Later on his program last Friday Tucker also interviewed Steve Bannon who was found guilty for contempt of Congress. He had failed to respond to a subpoena by the January 6th Congressional Committee.
As shocking as this event was when unruly demonstrators breached the US Capitol Tucker illustrates how federal prosecutors have been very selective on who they hold accountable. Did you know a crew from Late Show w/ Stephen Colbert - don't worry I no longer watch - actually breached Capitol grounds going through unauthorized areas. As he explains they were let go....
Granted that's not January 6th worthy but still you don't want people going through unauthorized gov't areas. However, they insist on burying a guy who had very little to do with this event especially since he left the Trump admin. very early in his term. Is the only reason they're punishing Bannon was his importance in getting Trump elected in 2016?
Among others including the recalled Chesa Boudin is Kim Foxx who Cook County residents had the opportunity to get rid of but we re-elected her in 2020. So we got her until the next presidential race when Cook County votes for state's attorney. For those of you who just want her primaried and hopefully defeated - which honesty is more likely than voting Republican for most - be very wary of what other Democrat you want to replace her with.

[VIDEO] Bill O'Reilly believes that the district attorney there Chesa Boudin may well be recalled by voters on June 7, 2022. It seems San Francisco one city I would like to visit but disappointed by the rising crime and evidently a very serious street poop problem which causes me not to want to visit. O'Reilly spells out the issues that are harming that great city, indeed he says the city has collapsed.
That said Boudin has been potrayed by many right wing pundits - perhaps residents there believe independent of someone like O'Reilly - as a prosecutor who is soft on crime. And it seems there is one resident who's satisfied with Boudin her name is Patty Quillin donated $130K to keep the incumbent in place. If you don't know who she is, she's the wife of Netflix CEO Reed Hastings.
I suspect this woman is out of touch but since I don't live in San Francisco my eyes are on the outside looking in. Weird things have happened with these recall efforts before, California had a chance to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom however voters didn't want Larry Elder to take over and that's because he was a Trump supporter. Better governance by a Trump supporter WE CAN'T HAVE THAT!
Anyway, we see one city attempting to do something about the high crime. We got a few more cities to go that needs some major changes. For example we got people lining up to run against the vulnerable Mayor Lightfoot here in Chicago. And this might go for other major cities in America if not the chief prosecutor in these cities also the mayors and city councils. Serious issues need serious people to handle them.
[VIDEO] I'm thinking in his statement since the Roe v. Wade leak last week how right SCOTUS Justice Clarence Thomas is. That one side can't live with an outcome they don't like and as a result the pro-choice side wants to threaten the highest court in the nation to not overturn Roe v. Wade.
Beyond that as discussed in the above Newsmax clip by a former SCOTUS clerk it's against federal law to threaten a Supreme Court Justice. You see how polarizing this issue gets!
[VIDEO] Shocking development for the moment Smollett's defense team is appealing the sentence handed down in a Cook County court more than six days ago. Remember his outburst after his sentencing about him not being suicidal claiming if anything happened he didn't do it.
It was also in the news however that he was in a mental health ward of Cook County Jail and that he wasn't eating at all during his brief stay in jail. The mental health thing I'm not surprised about based on his outburst, being in jail I think is a very difficult state. I can't credibly sit here in front of you and say I'm hardened criminal and can get used to jail. I know for sure that's not the place for me, no more than it might be for Smollett.
Regardless he has an appeal and he's out on bond and from here we shall see what's next. Will his appeal fail and he might have to further serve his 150 day sentence? I read that for good behavior he could've been out in 75 days. Anyway what's next for this amazing saga?
However the judge's takedown at Smolletts sentence is priceless. I hate to see someone's reputation destroyed, however, how spectacular was this and all it took was staging this rather incredulous hoax.
[VIDEO] I haven't really been following this on a consistent basis but I do have my thoughts on this.
In about 2002 when I first went away to college the students I met at Morehouse were talking about a video - which I never saw - of R. Kelly engaging in sex acts with a minor. My defense of R. Kelly was usually perhaps it just looks like him, most would say "No it's HIM". Well I don't know I never saw it to say whether or not it was or wasn't him.
Regardless I hold strictly to the idea of innocent until proven guilty. He was charged and put on trial in Illinois with regards to that very video. He was found not guilty and certainly expected that this would be the end of it until fairly recent.
As noted in the short story above from my local CBS affiliate here in Chicago, he was convicted last year on sex crimes charges in New York. He's under the gun for similar charges in federal court here in Chicago. So whatever is going on in the bedroom with R. Kelly well it exploded more.
Plenty have expressed their opinion of him and may condemn him as a pedophile because it seems he just loves underaged girls. Many probably have been affected by such individuals and our society certainly condemns pedophiles in the worst way. Children are vulnerable, and certainly teenaged young people are vulnerable although certainly they're at an age where they can take care of themselves. At the same time to get the attention of a famous entertainer as R. Kelly that could lead to some issues that no one wants to think about.
Yes I know I'm putting this simply, there's a lot going on here that I have no idea how to address them. One thing to be said is that it seems to me R. Kelly has self-destructed. Even I no longer believe he's innocent and it didn't have to take that one guilty verdict for me to recognize this. Once the public kept finding out things about his private life even I had to say something is wrong here.
I could compare it to O.J. Simpson although he was found not guilty in the murders of his ex-wife and her companion, I accepted that he was acquitted although so many believed he did it. He was even found liable in a civil trial determining wrongful death. And worse still he was sent to prison for many years on unrelated charges. For me it just showed many years after he beat the rap in 1995 that he was affected by this murder trial in some way. It causes me to wonder if he actually did the murder.
Well Simpson won't be charged with it now, and R. Kelly currently is undergoing the same legal issues. He already got convicted in New York. And we see his responses to the latest scrutinies especially blowing up at Gayle King. At this point because of what's come up I just have some issues even believing that he hasn't done at least some of the things he's being accused of.
[VIDEO] I occasionally watch the Cast Castle videoblogs which features the inner circle of Tim Pool's operation. While Pool is from Chicago I do know that he's living in New York and New Jersey and now living in rural West Virginia. Pool has often stated that after the unrest in 2020 he felt compelled to move as far away from any city or suburbs as possible
I got wind of this last nite when Pool noted on twitter that he was "swatted" during a livestream. You hear some I presume dispatch noting some form of political broadcast going on.
