Loonville: When Progressive Governance Loses the Plot on Justice

Bill O’Reilly’s Talking Points Memo on the July 21 No Spin News episode zeroed in on Minnesota and called it what he sees: Loonville. The claim is straightforward. Rough progressives now control roughly fifteen states. In those places, ideology has crowded out ordinary standards of accountability, crime, and common sense. Minnesota, once a more measured place, has become one of the clearest examples.

O’Reilly focuses first on Governor Tim Walz. He describes Walz as a far-left progressive ideologue. The concrete case is Tou Lue Vang, a Hmong man from Laos convicted in 2006 of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He repeatedly sexually abused a girl beginning when she was ten. He received probation rather than prison. In June 2026 the Minnesota Board of Pardons—Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and the state Supreme Court chief justice—voted to erase the conviction. The board cited a letter of forgiveness from the victim and immigration concerns. The pardon removed the legal basis for his pending deportation.

National Review: How Minnesota Lost Its Mind

[VIDEO] Rich Lowry talks about Minnesota being a very liberal state and has become a hotbed of radical progressive and far-left activity. Also discussing the current politicians such as Gov. Tim Walz - whom as a result of the emerging Somali financial fraud scandal was forced to abandon his bid for a third term as MN Governor.

Also the very feckless Mayor of Minneapolis - Jacob Frey. Lowry notes incredulously that he's actually a moderate who's at odds with a very progressive and far-left city council. He seems to like to virtue signal - and he was heavy on it in 2020 after what happened to George Floyd in his city - it seems evident that even these radicals still can't stand him.

Lowry seems to think things could be even crazier. I'd rather hope not and there's a segment of the electorate that's sick of this non-sense and vote for someone who will put an end to it.

Perhaps that man just hates police

 

[VIDEO] You might remember John Thompson who is a duly elected state representative to the Minnesota legislature. Last year after the George Floyd riots in Minneapolis he went up to a Minneapolis police union official in a Twin Cities suburb and went on a very disgusting rant. It got attention video of his speech went viral you might have seen it on right wing media outlets. I'm sure the folks up in Minnesota heard about it on their local news.

Well more recently John Thompson got more attention claiming he's being racially profiled. He got stopped by police primarily for missing a license plate on the front of his vehicle. Police in St. Paul, Minnesota released footage from the officer's bodycam. The officer handled this as professionally as he could while Thompson seems to lose his cool claiming he's being profiled. I'm glad this officer didn't match Thompson's anger.

As this video goes further we also find out that is Thompson a resident in his Minnesota legislative district. The officer noted that Thompson presented a Wisconsin driver's license. We see on a document that Thompson has a Wisconsin address and his campaign address is in fact a P.O. Box in Minnesota. As far as his license presumably in Minnesota though perhaps in Wisconsin was suspended. So as he claims he's being racially profiled he's actually driving around on a suspended license....

It seems even the Gov. of Minnesota - yeah I hope that guy Walz gets voted out - realize that Thompson is unfit to serve. Thompson also has domestic violence charges to his record. I wonder if we can start the clock on Thompson's resignation from the Minnesota House of Representatives.

Liberal Hivemind: Former BLM Leader SLAMS The Organization As FRAUDULENT!

 

[VIDEO] The young man you see chronicled here founded the St. Paul, Minn. chapter of BLM and ultimately swore them off believing them to be anti-Black mind and anti-Black family. He supports school choice while BLM is basically indifferent. You see Liberal Hivemind here discuss Richard Turner and I wonder if you might hear more people from that organization turn on BLM.

It's been in the news that one of the founders of the BLM National Foundation Patrisse Cullors has resigned from the organization. Conservatives have been talking about her purchase of a nice house away from the inner city. Of course this leads to charges of any financial improprieties within the organization.

Hivemind did another video about yet another BLM activist out of Colorado who's accused of child abuse and no I'm not going much further than that you're going to have to watch the video. We're just seeing the many ways BLM is starting to get discredited after they reached the height of their influence in the wake of George Floyd's death in 2020.

However, many have been going after BLM philosophically since last year. Consider that BLM scrubbed their about page once many pointed out how they're anti-family, the focus on single mothers, and of course other sexual identities. Nothing about Black males - other than those killed by the racist police - and certainly nothing about the role of fathers. It causes one to wonder is BLM really concerned about Black Lives?

[VIDEO] What Ami Horowitz is doing? I don't know how he does it, find people that has very extreme views such as it. Everyone thinks it's OK to burn the city down and everyone he's interviewed things we should dispense with due process. Everyone here thinks Derek Chauvin is guilty and is already conviction. 

All the people interviewed here, have no idea what they're asking for. They're asking for no due process, they're asking for more violence. They have no concept of what this all means and could turn around onto them. They'll have caused their own hurt and pain!

O'Reilly: So-called peaceful protestors attack CNN crew

 

[VIDEO] Remember what I said last summer and this goes from these progressive liberal leftist socialist Democrat politicians to the media. As long as you're essentially part of the power structure you're able to successfully project your image to the masses you're as much the enemy. Bill O'Reilly is right, these so-called protestors, demonstrators, rioters, etc. only want destruction and violence. They don't care who sympathizes with them as long as they want to cause mayhem.

[VIDEO] He's right about that police officer in Brooklyn Center, her life is over. And yes the young man she killed - accidently - he should be alive and have his day in court. Those are the facts and we have bodycam footage of this. Meanwhile two other people in that city have had to leave their jobs because well the "mob" isn't satisfied that due process has to run their course. I think the mayor up there jumped on this face, perhaps seeing what happens if he doesn't. However the mob doesn't really care about justice, I don't think anyone can satisfy the mob which makes what's been going on up there distressing.

[VIDEO] His video this morning discusses the developments in what happened in Minnesota. Rightly he states the narrative takes over and the facts just doesn't matter. Not that he was resisting arrest and was uncooperative with police officers, nope just a Black man minding his business his warrant didn't matter, just hunted down by white supremacy. Oh and it also doesn't matter that the officer who shot him was actually reaching for her taser and instead got the suspect with her pistol!

BTW, I'm going to offer a trigger warning here. Dice says women shouldn't be police officers. I get the feeling he's trolling us because he does that....d

What's going on in Minnesota?

 

[VIDEO] I wanted to share this report by Tim Pool from this morning. I know there are more developments out of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota where another police shooting of a Black person has gotten the attention of the media and unfortunately caused the rabble rousers to test their distorted theory. The distortion of rioting is the language of the unheard.

You know Minnesota especially the Twin Cities area has been badly battered by the unrest last year after George Floyd's untimely demise and the trial of the now fired police officer involved is still ongoing. Still more of this it has been said Minnesota has been a bit weird - actually in another YouTube video.

I'm just unhappy that such a great state is getting torn apart by people who are just hell-bent on causing destruction. They hide behind fighting police violence and racism, but what I now recognize is that this is all an excuse.

I don't know enough about the shooting that happened. I hear things that there was a traffic stop and then the car started moving after the stop, and then the police fired shots. Then why did the police fire shots, however, the real-time story doesn't matter for some. On the surface the tragedy that occurred forwards the same familiar narrative and enough people will buy it.

Chauvin trial jurors removed

 

[VIDEO] Tim Pool discusses the Derek Chauvin trial in Minneapolis. Two jurors were removed from this case because of their views on a settlement by the city of Minneapolis to the family of George Floyd. If you want to learn more Powerline Blog out of Minnesota has more.

Pool states as I have that no matter the outcome of this trial no one will be happy. And at worst another round of unrest will occur there. Also, he mentions the police excluded autonomous zone that exists where Floyd has passed away.

While considered a shrine for another Black man who died after he was arrested by police, however, proves to be a very violence "peaceful" zone at night. You create a place for peace and remembrance but once the sun comes down it becomes a lawless violent zone. 

You probably shouldn't be too surprised by that.

Some charges dropped in case of Derek Chauvin of MPLS

 The infamous Derek Chauvin has been released from custody earlier this month is back in the news today. I shared a tweet of this news. Here's what happened from the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

A judge on Thursday dashed the hopes of four former Minneapolis police officers charged in the killing of George Floyd.

Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill dropped a lower-level murder charge against the former Minneapolis police officer who pressed his knee into George Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes, but kept a higher-level murder count against him. Cahill also ruled that there was enough evidence for jurors to decide whether three other former officers should be convicted of aiding and abetting charges.

The judge dismissed a third-degree murder count against Derek Chauvin but ruled that he will remain charged with one count each of second-degree unintentional murder and second-degree manslaughter.

All we can do at this point is wait and see. It seems Chauvin and as it turns out his three other colleagues will still have to answer for what happened on Memorial Day 2020. Of course some other visual evidence came out since the initial unrest which seems to show the whole police stop not only the point where George Floyd was restrained by Chavin's knee on his neck.

Count me in as one of those people who was ready to through the book at the former Minneapolis policeman. Now I'm not so sure how any charges will hold up. Sadly many people have made up their mind on this issue and in spite of the new evidence views this as a malicious racially motivated police death.

I wanted to share this video by ABL on this subject. He's also not so sure how these charges will hold up. He doesn't see where Chauvin and his colleagues could be responsible for Floyd's death as tragic as it was and sadly as tragic as it became around the nation with all the unrest. [VIDEO] 

Democrats are worried about Minnesota

Via Instapundit: Yet polls show President Trump gaining ground in Minnesota, and Democrats are worried because they haven’t seen any appearances by Biden or his running mate Kamala Harris.

I just had flashbacks to 2016. When I think about that presidential elections it was satisfying seeing someone who was well qualified to be president and seemingly took this election for granted - considering some of Trump's negatives - lose the election. It was her's to win and she blew it....

This year is a bit different isn't it? Trump is the incumbent and Biden hardly has anything to take for granted and he has his own negatives one of which is his age. And also consider this nation is now in a different state four years later.

And like some of that blue wall in 2016 Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, I find myself thinking Trump could win more blue state's this year. Nixon won Minnesota in 1972 the last Republican to do so and the '72 election was a blowout. Let's not forget about 1984 was another blowout by Ronald Reagan who lost Minnesota to native son Walter Mondale in the '84 presidential election.

Alson consider a group of Minnesota mayors has endorsed President Trump. Also note Trump thinks he can win his former home state of New York. '20 could indeed turn out to be an unusual political year in a time of unrest.

And just think for the first time in years I'm starting to pay attention to polling. I couldn't find any Illinois polls that shows where Biden and Trump is although it seems for now the Land of Lincoln is likely a Biden lock. However we're down to two months to go before Election Day so all we can do is wait and see.

Powerline: Abject failure part 2

Basically the Mayor of Minneapolis Jacob Frey vs. Minn. Gov. Tim Walz. Powerline refers to both as very ineffective, actually "abject failures" with regards to their roles in the unrest back in late May after the police involved death of George Floyd. It seems Mayor Frey - whom I consider the very first victim of the progressive liberal mob - wanted to really get ahead of this while Gov. Walz danced.

Who is responsible for the great harm that has befallen the Twin Cities? That is the question. However, this is not a binary choice. Both Walz and Frey are abject failures whose errors and omissions have been felt across the United States.

Below is the first of the three reports posted in Tom Lyden’s story “‘Thrown under the bus’: Text messages detail Minneapolis frustration.” After the advertisements that precede them. There is a lot to chew on in these reports.

So this video is from Minneapolis' FOX affiliate and shares Mayor Frey's perspective. They start with the burning of the 3rd precinct HQ of the Minneapolis Police [VIDEO]

Oh man that report! The situation those police officers were in at that time. And to be honest it seems Mayor Frey was actively trying to keep the peace.

Powerline: Abject failure in Minneapolis strikes back!

Last month I wrote about the Mayor of Minneapolis, Minn Jacob Frey. It was very easy to paint him as the first victim of these radical progressive liberals who turned on him when he wouldn't commit to abolishing the Minneapolis Police. The Minneapolis City Council ultimately voted unanimously to abolish the police department this is where they're at as of late.

However, what if there is a divide between the mayor of Minnesota's largest city and the Governor of Minnesota. We've been seeing one of the publishers of Powerline on Tucker Carlson Tonight a lot lately. There are a lot of issues in this very "progressive" city and one of the issues they talked about on FOX News was the increasing issues of homelessness. Seems to be a reoccurring theme in a lot of solidly blue cities. We're hearing NYC is increasingly having issues with the homeless as of late.

Anyway Powerline exposes a growing divide between two of the state's important leaders.

Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz is utterly incompetent. For the details, read the just-released issue of Thinking Minnesota, which drives political debate in my state. During the days of rioting, looting and arson in Minneapolis that followed the death of George Floyd, it became obvious that the situation was a disaster. Walz tried to distance himself from the debacle by saying in a press conference that fellow Democrat Jacob Frey, the Boy Mayor of Minneapolis, had been an “abject failure,” but Walz was now taking over and things would get better. Rarely has a politician been so definitively thrown under the bus.

Walz’s denunciation came as a shock to Mayor Frey, whose political career is presumed to be over. But Frey has finally counter-attacked, and in a man-bites-dog moment, the Star Tribune is willing to criticize a Democratic Governor of Minnesota. I am not sure this has ever happened before.

Frey has nothing to lose and knows where some of the bodies are buried. So we get this from the Star Tribune: Mayor Frey: Gov. Walz hesitated to deploy National Guard during Minneapolis riots.

The Strib’s story is based largely on texts and emails obtained from the City of Minneapolis via a public records request. The fact that the Strib was able to obtain them only two months after the events in question means that Frey was eager to get them out.

As you continue to read that post, it's excusable that the Gov. of Minn. as he prepared to deploy the Nat'l Guard a military force that he is the commander in chief of just thinks of those men & women as nothing more than cook. And he had no wish to really deploy them in a time of great civil unrest in Minneapolis. Frey lost control of his city, no doubt. Unfortunately he didn't get much help from his Governor who should be partners in solving this issue of civil unrest.

BTW, I got to find a little bit of Laura Ingraham's program out of Minneapolis. I hear Minneapolis is making property & business owners pay back taxes in order to clean up their lots. Shameful what's going on up there!

State Rep. Candidate uses ‘Inflammatory Rhetoric’ at BLM protest

[VIDEO] Politics unfortunately have a home for the firebrand, especially if they fit the times. This man is running for a state legislative seat in Minnesota. He - well John Thompson - went to the suburban home of a police union official and his wife a local TV news anchor - to make this very vile and passionate speech that he later apologized for. It shocks the hell out of me!

Minnesota's Democrat Farmer Labor Party allowed this man to run and win a primary to advance in this seat. Do we want tough and vocal leadership? Or do we want very angry leadership who seem more interested in pursuing a vendetta against people they don't like.

I first heard about this on the Ingraham Angle this evening. The Democratic Convention is going on in modified form thanks to coronavirus. I'm seeing that the Democrat party has some major problems and we're looking at one of them. The leadership isn't coming from that party right now and that's disappointing from a party that has a history of strong leadership at critical times.
