Legal Eagle: Analysis of the federal response to the Portland unrest

[VIDEO] Normally when I see Legal Eagle's videos it's usually to discuss law in the entertainment sense. That is discussing law as applied to various film and TV properties. I shared one of his videos once about the law as applied to an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. This video shared over two days ago was a bit more realistic.

Devin the man in the above video seems more disturbed by the actions of federal law enforcement agencies in Portland, Ore. enough to see his sister into the protests to mock what you might see on FOX News. However, to understand what federal agents can do as far as keeping the peace in Portland and other cities around the nation, this is the video to watch.

For example, why is the US Customs & Border Protection in downtown Portland away from any customers area or the nation's borders? What can they do in the unrest around federal assets?

Also are federal agents required to have anything identifying themselves. For example a badge number or even a name tag on any uniform they might wear?

Those questions will be answered here. He may not be supportive of federal efforts in this civil unrest but I think you'll learn something here.

My take, the federal gov't at least is in the right to protect their assets especially their courthouses as in Portland the unrest seems to want to consumer the federal courthouse. However, I haven't looked too much into what role federal law enforcement can expect to play in Chicago especially as far as the gun crime in city neighborhoods.
