Timcast IRL: Will America reach the 2024 presidential election?

[VIDEO] Scary stuff....

2020 was a strange year with the pandemic and the seeming breakdown in law enforcement and societal norms. We see the strange push for social justice especially in light of George Floyd. It seems this idea of being woke has been put forward like never before.

In this rcnt  Timcast IRL they talk about Col. Douglas MacGregor's dire comments about the 2024 how he sees the general breakdown in America will cause the nation to not even make it to the 2024 election. And Tim Pool and company might take it further someone might ensure there will be further issues with the election. Perhaps someone will cheat again to ensure there person will will sort of how many alleged that happened in 2020 between Trump and Biden.

I'll let you watch Col MacGregor's comments here as he made them about four months ago on PBD's podcast. Allow me to remain optimistic that the chaos of 2020 is something we can get out of but then again America is so severely divided it doesn't seem like we're going to come together anytime soon.

Is college worth it?

[VIDEO] I wish I had this advice from Dave Ramsey back in high school. The expectations for many of us whether from our families to even some of the teachers/counselors in school was that we'd go to college. The advice I should've gotten was about planning and then of course having a plan once I got the degree.

What does this mean? What type of job do you plan to have once you graduate? How much money are you willing to spend on college?

With that said over the years, I've had to realize that perhaps we've been going overboard with sending our young people to college. It's an important investment for sure, but again most young people need to plan. I really didn't even if it took me some time to finally finish.

Another thing that I've said is that it seems a college degree has become devalued and taken for granted to the point where it's not just another high school diploma. An undergrad degree once had value, how do we give it value again?

This clip was from a little over three years ago and hopefully parents are discussing college and long term plans with their children who are high school juniors or seniors.

Back to the Future and the Cubs

I had the great fortune of seeing the Cubs in the 9th inning clinch the NL Wild Card in 2015. Since it is 2015 we're also talking about the "prediction" that this Cubs will win the World Series in 2015. Wow!

Even the screenwriter for Back to the Future 2 is starting to realize how a joke may be taken seriously. But even he owns up to how he thought it was unlikely yet if the Cubs win it all this year he becomes a visionary.

The future is now

I realized over the years that while coveting & achieveing a degree in political science from Morehouse College there was really no plan on my end to utilize this degree. I had vague designs on what my future plans were - graduate school, law school, or just enter into politics. In my mind pursuing any of those goals were more difficult than it really was or was it?

You know I didn't exactly measure up to where I thought I would be. Also it was easy to blow off opportunities that were certainly good ones where it was possible to use my pol. sci. degree. Somehow things have gone off track for me.

I feel as if, it's still possible to follow the political path for myself. Not sure how, but I always figured even with a part-time job or even a full-time one it was possible to be of service. It was possible to even volunteer for a cause important to me or even to an official if they needed the extra help. Perhaps that's the path for me.

Another path I've been serious about is business. Over time you have read stories about me having a management interview - even if you may consider this lower-level or middle management. While it's a step in the right direction perhaps if you want to be serious about business why not consider a side-gig of some sort that doesn't interfere with your current job. Perhaps you can really show your talent as far as business.

Regardless there was a time the future was just full of boundless opportunities. That's what my younger self thought of the future. I'm starting to realize more and more that the future is here...NOW!

These jobs are going away...

According to this article. It includes newspaper reporters, mail carriers, print workers, and even travel agents. I don't understand why farmers and flight attendants are going away. I would imagine they're always necessary in some capacity, food isn't going to grow and care for itself and passengers on a flight need attention the pilots can't get to them. Hopefully all these predictions won't come to fruition.

A Martian Dream: Here's What the Red Planet Would Look Like With Earth-Like Oceans and Life - The Atlantic

A Martian Dream: Here's What the Red Planet Would Look Like With Earth-Like Oceans and Life - The Atlantic

The pic above is how our fourth planet would look like if it was earth like. With some landforms in the northern hemisphere it looks like they would've had a large continent similar to this fabled continent on Earth known as Pangaea. Well not so fabled as well there is a theory or perhaps it's proven that at one point all of Earth's continents were one massive landmass. Continental drift created the continents as we know them today!

In any case I can't wrap my head around Martian geography as well I know very little about it. I know about Utopia Planitia as this is the area where the Enterprise of Star Trek: The Next Generation was constructed. However I can't even begin to point to it on a map!

Well this show what Mars can look like with terraforming. And perhaps this could spur more interest in sending people to the Red Planet. Time can only tell.

The year 1999 as shown in the year 1966!

[VIDEO] How about a little fun today?

This video was made in 1966. It seems there were a lot of films made back then to depict the future. And surely those who made such films saw the year 2011 as a different world. Of course if some of those film makers were put into our current year it probably would be the same world as theirs. Of course I can only image how the year 2111 would look. That just has to be a different world right.

Of course, this video strikes me as not very liberating towards women. It still assumes that the man pays all the bills. Although for some out there passing the bills off to someone else would be very liberating now would it?

So the wife does her shopping on a PC (well the 1966 version) and in addition to that she checks the monitors around the house in keeping with her domestic duties. The husband is more of a geek here as he has three screens to look at. Also it appears he uses a stylus to write an "e-mail" to be sent to anyone around the world.

Of those three screens the husband uses he uses one of them to check his account information. So he's looking at his wife's bills as she went shopping "online". I'm not sure the husband was happy as he printed off his information.

Well some aspects of this video was off, but in concept, it was dead on!
