Youngkin "clinched" the Governors office

 

[VIDEO] The momentum began once former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe said parents didn't have the right to tell schools what to teach their children. Conservative media took that and ran with it and it's safe to say McAwfu.....McAuliffe never recovered. The race tightened in the polls and ultimately Youngkin less than a week before election day was leading in polls.

The race was somewhat expected to be very tight and it was. Though by my eyes percentage wise (that rhymes) not that tight.

Red Eagle Politics: Dems getting desperate Obama campaigns in Virginia and New Jersey

 

[VIDEO] Well Obama likes to campaign and he's out to help out as it turns out two Democrat imcumbents in two races that should've been safe. Of course Red Eagle shares a few Obama soundbites from his recent speeches. I'll leave it to you to as far as whether or not Obama helped Terry McAuliffe in Va. and Gov. Phil Murphy in N.J.

Hard to believe these two gubernatorial races will be decided next Tuesday. We're in the homestretch and it turns out both races have become competitive.

2021: Virginia and New Jersey Governor's Races are competitive

 

[VIDEO] I wanted to share this video with you this evening. I have paid far more attention to the competitive election in the allegedly blue state of Virginia where the last time I checked polls the two major candidates in the race are in a dead heat.

But then who knew that a race coming up next month was very competitive in New Jersey. I say Virginia is allegedly a blue state because I'm led to believe its in fact a deep purple. And at that some issues have emerged that could keep a former governor seeking his old office after four years from ultimately regaining it. That includes the issues of coronavirus and parental issues with their local school boards.

Well the coronavirus mitigations at the local school district level had been discussed over time depending upon who you follow in the news. School want to stay closed while parents insist they must reopen. Far more recently a father was being harassed and recorded being tackled by police due to school board inaction to a sexual assault on his daughter. On FOX News especially this father has been interviewed and expressing his frustration with this process.

Aside from those issues now we go to New Jersey another solidly blue state that since the start of this pandemic also have been in the news for their mitigation policies. And it's shocking to find out that in a state that generally votes Democrat - even after two terms of a very vocal Republican governor - is willing to consider another Republican.

Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy is in a competitive race with Republican Jack Ciattarelli. The most recent poll from Emerson College shows it within 6% in favor of Murphy. While New Jersey is considered a solidly blue state federally it's amazing that a Republican can compete statewide. Murphy could well be re-elected as much as the Republican could very well lose in Virginia and were not that far away from election day at this point.

However, I'm sure the political class are keeping an eye on these two states and especially Virginia as we do have a midterm election next year. With the President's polling starting to go downwards losing both Virginia and New Jersey could be momentum for a Republican wave in Congress. 

Time will tell on this as a lot could change but who knows find the right candidates run them in the races they can win. The Biden/Harris administration could continue to struggle which could be a drag on Democrats down the ballot. We shall see!

Why does this guy stay in New Jersey?

[VIDEO] I decided to look up the various aspects of the Free State Project which is largely based in New Hampshire. The video you see above courtesy of FreeKeene.com is one of those many elements of the "free staters" who have taken up residence in the "live free or die" state.

FSP basically seeks a political migration to a state such as New Hampshire to create this libertarian society. It's been a number of years since I followed the New Hampshire free staters with their many videos to share their attempts at creating a libertarian society.

One thing I wanted to address here is the comments at the start of this video with Patrick McKnight who did a road trip from New Jersey to visit with his fellow Libertarians in New Hampshire. He's the northeastern representative for the Libertarian National Committee and he pays a visit to the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire to give a quick speech.

Now it was noted at the speech how the mc who introduced McKnight chided him that he should stay up there instead of going back to New Jersey and then McKnight himself finds himself wondering why he stays. He even notes how people leave New Jersey in droves due to big government and taxes.

Certain this matches with some of the reasons why many have left Chicago and Illinois over the years. There isn't much opportunity here, the taxes are going up, and perhaps still there's no desire to limit the expansion of government.

I'm sure there are no shortage of people who at least in Chicago wishes that there was no bag tax - which is to encourage consumers to purchase and bring their own bags to grocery shop. Illinois hasn't created a budget in two years as the powerful politicians of this state haven't been able to come to an agreement on some reforms.

My point in this is that does why have to leave a state to create this ideal society? Perhaps New Jersey is where McKnight for now needs to be. Perhaps Chicago, Illinois is where I need to be for now although I'm not as active as McKnight.

Point is perhaps no matter how dire the situation a state might be whether New Jersey, Illinois or I can throw out there California there is certainly a need for someone out there to call for all the necessary changes. In 2014, Illinois elected for a change in the governor's mansion. A necessary change, but this state hasn't seen much for it unfortunately.

In saying this, I can only wish that this state could get an influx of people who advocate for this idea Libertarian society. Perhaps ask for some substantial changes that one can only hope will benefit this state or better yet benefit Chicago. Do this hopefully before some unfortunate harm to a formerly great state.

In the meanwhile, people will do what you expect when they're not happy with where they are - vote with their feet & leave.
