It's debate season

 

[VIDEO] Dave Rubin discusses debate between JD Vance & Tim Ryan out of Ohio. They're in a contest for a US Senate Seat and Vance had to correct Ryan's charges with regards to an abortion that occurred in Ohio. A minor child was sexually assault and an abortion had to be performed and as it turns out the pervert was an illegal immigrant. Ryan had nothing after that.

Of course the appropriate question is not necessarily why is this child having an abortion is why do we have a sex offender running around as an illegal immigrant. That's not to say all illegal immigrants are criminals, it is to say if we've got our borders wide open who's to say a criminal didn't somehow get into the country.

Another issue to be raised. A little girl had her life altered forever and I could never imagine her trauma. As opposed to just saying it should be legal for her to have an abortion - and just think the victim was 10-years-old - why should this be a consideration for her. How do we keep her safe from pervs like the aforementioned illegal immigrant? A child is vulnerable from those who are predators....

Perhaps its a good thing Vance is raising some of these issues instead of the typical attack to suggest that the so-called right to abortion is under fire. And like Vance I do agree in reasonable restrictions on abortion.

Matt Walsh: What is a person?

 

[VIDEO] Matt Walsh just released a documentary asking the question: what is a woman? And there are many who prove really unwilling to answer that question. No one is willing to define a woman by anything from an adult human female to one that gives birth (as one med student did a TikTok to state that pregnancy shouldn't be associated with women).

So with the abortion debate as he discusses on his program especially since the controversial issue of Roe V. Wade has been overturned a new question is what is a person? So is a person defined by when they are conceived by their biological mother and father?

That is when an female egg cell is fertilized by a male sperm cell? Is such a person defined by when they become an identifiable fetus? And at some point once a person is conceived they grow into what is clearly a mammalian fetus and ultimately an identifiable human.

Finally are they a person when they are born? 

All very good questions which it seems is the next question to really take this debate. We hear women fearing the death of a lot of women who have back alley abortions. Believe it or not I sympathize any thinking feeling person should we don't want people to partake in very unsafe procedures. However, I also care about the unborn and the next debate ought to be what is a person.

Mark Dice: Roe v. Wade mega meltdown

 

[VIDEO] Yesterday the Supreme Court finally did the unthinkable and overturned Roe v. Wade and it sparked protests and the various meltdowns seen on "progressive" cable news and of course the protestors in the streets. I just wonder how much civil unrest there will be over this. I get the feeling that people really aren't as passionate about this issue as the pro-abortion folks want people to be.

[VIDEO] Today's big news Roe V. Wade is done for. Now we get to see the "progressives" of the United States go crazy over the right to an abortion. There was a leak at the Supreme Court which lets us know what the results would be. There were protests at the homes of Supreme Court Justices which are said to be illegal and yet it seems to be a low priority of this administration.

And now we will hear that women will be forced to give birth which I just think is an over the top talking point and yet there is a medical student who thinks we shouldn't associate pregnancy with women. 😕

Anyway, the Illinois response - Gov. Pritzker wants a special session of the Illinois General Assembly to consider the issue. Illinois is often portrayed as a state friendly towards abortion rights. The Governor himself has asserted his support over abortion rights.

It's very interesting to see how foreign media views our own political/social issues in this case we're looking at Australian media.

Mark Dice: It's come to this?

 

[VIDEO] Mark Dice with his man on the street interviews regarding Walmart having abortion clinics in their outposts throughout the country. Well Walmart does have health clinics in eye doctors in their outposts, however, just realize Dice is just trolling with the people on the street. In the video one person called him out on it, and a few doubted this. Still pretty telling.

[VIDEO] The unthinkable could happen and this is occuring tonite near the SCOTUS building in Washington, DC. There are reports that the court could overturn Roe v. Wade. Abortion rights is one of the single most polarizing issue in this country. You either want to protect the unborn or you want to protect a woman's right to choose. There's hardly much in between between both.

Of course best case scenario if any ruling is coming down on this is that the abortion issue will be left to the states. The states will decide how to handle this issue, perhaps that is best as many mostly conservative states have enacted their own anti-abortion laws which largely don't make them illegal, however, you might hear things about heartbeats or abortions are illegal after a certain point in a pregnancy.

What I find dismaying is that let's partial birth abortions or late term abortions those are controversial to some people. It seems polarizing that we might have laws anywhere to address even that.

It has been nearly 30 years since the Supreme Court’s decision in Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which reaffirmed the constitutional right to abortion that the court first recognized in Roe v. Wade. Only one justice who participated in Casey is still on the court now: Clarence Thomas, who joined a dissent in Casey arguing that “Roe was wrongly decided, and that it can and should be overruled.” After nearly two hours of oral argument on Wednesday in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Thomas and the other members of the court’s six-justice conservative majority seemed poised to uphold a Mississippi law that bans almost all abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy. That decision would further curtail the right to abortion and undermine a key component of Roe and Casey. But the justices were once again deeply divided over whether to formally overturn those precedents.

Enacted by the Mississippi legislature in 2018, the law – known as the Gestational Age Act – has never gone into effect. Both a federal district court and the conservative U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit blocked the law, explaining that Roe and Casey bar states from banning abortions before fetal viability – the point around 24 weeks of pregnancy when the fetus can survive outside the womb. Mississippi asked the justices to weigh in and, after the court agreed to take up the case, the state began urging the court to overturn those landmark decisions.

Arguing for the state on Wednesday, Mississippi Solicitor General Scott Stewart told the justices that Roe and Casey “haunt our country,” have “poisoned the law,” and have “choked off compromise.” “Abortion is a hard issue,” he said, and it is a question that should be left up to the people to decide.

Capitol Fax: Pritzker talks PNA repeal

 I just wanted to share this with you all. What made the news for political junkies in Illinois is the appeal of a Parental Notification Act. This is basically a bill that repeals parental notification if a teen has an abortion.

Rich Miller spoke to the Governor of Illinois J.B. Pritzker and he's poised to sign the repeal into law. He has come out for it and discusses it further in Miller's syndicated column.

Now with this said consider the national environment after strong Republican success in Virginia especially. Now we know consideration of parental rights can be a huge issue for the opposition to exploit.

At least in Virginia it was used as far as parental concerns over what their children are taught in public schools. And there is a report of a sexual assault in a Virginia school not too long before the state elections there.

I recognize that Pritzker is vulnerable. A good campaign that can focus on "kitchen table" issues won't be too scared of the fact that the Governor has some money - well his own - to play with.

Though don't color me naive it only depends on who gets the Republican nomination and finding out what issues resonate with the public here in Illinois. Of course it might also depend on whether or not the Democratic incumbent severely falters as Terry McAuliffe has a month before last week's elections.

Subject of Roe v. Wade dies

Going through posts at Instapundit - which has been more of a routine as of late - i saw this WP article clicked the link and read into it. The Roe of Roe v. Wade wanted her right to privacy to include abortions and was successful. Then it turns out she went from supporting a woman's right to choose to being pro-life. As it turns out after shedding her precedent setting psedonym she shared the true story of this case. This landmark piece of jurisprudence that everyone is fighting over could be based on a lie. She lied about why she wanted to terminate a pregnancy.

Now that I know this as someone who considers himself profile, this changes things. Or at least my view of this story. Perhaps this precedent can't stand any longer...

Illinois abortions at record low - Chicago Sun-Times

Abortions reported in Illinois reached a 37-year low in 2010, a drop that abortion opponents attributed to more women shying away from the procedure while abortion-rights supporters pointed to an uptick in use of contraceptives.

In 2010, there were 41,859 abortions in Illinois, according to recently published data from the state Department of Public Health .

That’s the lowest total since 1973, when Illinois recorded 32,760 abortions. That’s the year the procedure was legalized in the United States in the landmark Roe vs. Wade decision by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Carole Brite, president of Planned Parenthood of Illinois, said her organization was pleased to learn about the decrease but it was “hard to know for sure” what caused it. She said between 2009 and 2010, her organization doubled its distribution of contraceptives such as intrauterine devices and Implanon — a small rod placed under the skin that blocks pregnancy.

“I think more and more providers have become aware and knowledgeable of these methods and are recommending them to their patients,” Brite said.

I posted that quote from the President of Planned Parenthood for a reason. I'm surprised to see she's pleased about the decrease in a abortions.

TO be sure I'm pleased. The emphasis should be more on prevention of unwanted pregnancies than on abortions. Who knows why there is a decrease in Abortions in my state.

It makes me wonder why this little statistic is included in an analysis of unemployment rates not only in Illinois but with neighboring states as seen on Capitol Fax today!

OK, this bothers me

I'm prolife and this is one of those positions I would consider somewhat frivolous although I know the time Nixon came from, but in my opinion this position is bad:

On Jan. 23, 1973, when the Supreme Court struck down laws criminalizing abortion in Roe v. Wade, President Richard M. Nixon made no public statement. But privately, newly released tapes reveal, he expressed ambivalence.

Nixon worried that greater access to abortions would foster “permissiveness,” and said that “it breaks the family.” But he also saw a need for abortion in some cases — like interracial pregnancies, he said.

“There are times when an abortion is necessary. I know that. When you have a black and a white,” he told an aide, before adding, “Or a rape.”

So a black and a white having a child is on par with a rape? Hmmm, is it possible that the 37th President of the United States was a racist?

Abortion doctor murdered!

You know personally I'm against abortion. If one gets an abortion it shouldn't be taken lightly or in my opinion done with the slightest whim. I'd say if you're going to do it you better have a very good excuse to do it and I would hope you wouldn't do it because you hate your ex-boyfriend or because you just don't want a child especially since you can prevent the pregnancy in the first place. Although I understand when it happens because you didn't think about the precautions.

What's unfortunate is the idea that someone shoots an abortion doctor because they are against abortion. Killing an abortion Doctor may not help the cause of eventually striking down Roe v. Wade or making abortion illegal in this nation. Surely this is going to galvanize those folks who consider themselves pro-choice and this incident with Dr. Tiller could be used to demonize those who are pro-life.

Let's get to the story:

A search is ongoing for the suspect in this morning's fatal shooting of George Tiller, the Wichita doctor who became a national lightning rod in the debate over abortion.

Tiller, 67, was shot just after 10 a.m. in the lobby of Reformation Lutheran Church at 7601 E. 13th, where he was a member of the congregation. Witnesses, a city official and a police source confirmed Tiller was the victim.

Police said they are looking for white male who was driving a 1990s powder blue Ford Taurus with Kansas license plate 225 BAB. The vehicle is registered to an owner in Merriam, which is in the Kansas City area.
Wichita police Capt. Brent Allred said that several law enforcement agencies -- including the FBI and the KBI -- have been called in to help with the case.

"This is going to be a larger search than probably maybe just Wichita that we're looking for this individual," Allred said. "So we've got the resources coming in to help us with this investigation."

Allred said that no one else was injured in the shooting. He would not say how many shots were fired. He said it's unclear whether the shooter exchanged any words with the victim.

I'm very sorry this happened and I would hope no one else who have the "gumption" the idea that they should be willing to engage in this activity themselves. Instead of shooting let's not lose sight of the goal a debate over abortion and whether or not it should be a right. Indeed the debate should be over whether or not aborting an embryo or fetus would be considered murder. Let's not engage in the murder of abortion doctors because of what they do especially at the expense of losing this debate.

CatholicVote.com Aims New Ad at African-Americans

I found this on January 20th, the day of Obama's inauguration. They just discussed this on the O'Reilly Factor with the idea that this was a brilliant ad. I also understand that this also aired on BET on the day of Obama's inauguration.

Anyway, I don't know how anyone who reads this blog feels about the issue of abortion, however, this is great towards the man group whom this blog is largely aimed at, Blacks. So I show this ad here, and I hope someone out there has an opinion.

I'm thinking about posting this at the 6th Ward. This is already a touchy issue. I'm sure there are many black who are opposed to abortion, but I would like to see the prevailing opinion on this.

The 6th is definitely targeted towards a black audience, even if that audience is largely a neigborhood or city audience. This blog well it might be more Chicago-centric although I would like to seek out a much broader audience than that.
