Color-Blind Law, Later Rules: Matt Walsh’s Real History of the Civil Rights Movement

In May I posted the trailer and a brief note: as always, I would withhold judgment until I actually saw it. I later watched the episode on DailyWire.com. I’m glad the full thing is finally on YouTube.

Matt Walsh’s Real History episode is the kind of thing this blog has always been for: a video that refuses the schoolbook version of a sacred American story. The title is The Real History of the Civil Rights Movement, Part 1: “A New Constitution.” His pitch is straightforward. Since the 1990s, classrooms have turned Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks into saints. 

Almost everything in that telling, he says, is incomplete or wrong. Who funded the movement? How non-violent was it? How racist was 1950s America, really? Did the 1964 Civil Rights Act help Black Americans, or did it rewrite the Constitution in ways we still live with?

Those are fair questions. Some of the answers are fair. Others are stretched, selective, or wrong. History is not a morality play.

Why would you burn down MLK Jr.'s childhood home

 

[VIDEO] ABL Discusses what happened recently in Atlanta, this woman who is said to be a Navy veteran and reportedly suffers from PTSD attempted to burn a Federal landmark, the childhood home of Martin Luther King Jr. She was stopped by bystanders which included two retired NYPD officers. Wow!

When I first saw this story, I wondered if she even knew or cared about what she was doing. Perhaps it was a mental break of some sort, however, what drove her to do something like this. What led her to MLK's home?

Now I want to visit even more. If I had been able to come to SpelHouse homecoming if I had the time, this is one place that was worth visiting and sharing on my YouTube channel :P

UPDATE 11:01 PM - Just found the video of Harry Johnson on FOX News on this MLK Holiday.

The former General President of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Harry Johnson was talking about building a memorial to Dr. King at the National Mall in Washington, DC. I've been getting e-mails about this memorial in the past and I do believe it's been under construction for a few years anyway. I first heard about it at a Morehouse Crown Forum I do believe.

So let me post the website www.mlkmemorial.org and I sincerely hope that those of you who read this blog will donate to finishing this project.

As soon I as I see the video of Mr. Johnson, it will be posted here.

Today is MLK Day observed

I found this quote online so, today I share it here:
