Not a Joke to Him.

The Free Press ran a piece on a Michigan man who got filmed while he was stocking frozen pizzas. The clip is the kind of thing that usually dies as content. This one did not.

Walt Z works direct-store delivery for Red Baron. He was in a grocery store in the White Lake area, restocking the freezer, when someone asked him the time. He pulled out his phone. The person filming played an Apple Pay sound and told him $10 had just been taken. Then $20. The account was @thea.ctiveworld. It is gone now.

Walt did not treat it as a bit. He said he was already an hour late getting home. Four kids. Mortgage. Up at 5 a.m. for ten more stores. “It’s not a joke to me.” “My life is hard enough as it is.” The company later said the incident itself happened in August. The video is what went around this week.

People watched it and started a GoFundMe. Luke Oakenshield set it up. As of early Saturday it had reached $655,521 from more than 18,000 donations, with the goal at $700,000. GoFundMe itself noted the campaign nearing $600,000 on Friday. Walt posted that he is blown away and that his family is doing well. He is keeping the full name private. His wife has already turned down media requests. He is thinking about talking later, only with people who will treat the family carefully.

Red Baron posted on X that employee-of-the-month nominations are closed. “He’s still here. He’s got a fan club. Including us.” The parent company confirmed they checked on him after the August incident and that he remains employed.

Glenn Beck watched the same clip and got emotional. The general idea is that the person filming was nothing more than a parasite treating other people as content. Walt was already spending long hours doing the job. This time the prankster picked the wrong man. [VIDEO]

The original clip is gone. Copies are still circulating. The man who was late getting home is still working. The people who filmed him are not.

Ben Shapiro REACTS to Anti-American TikToks

[VIDEO] We just got past the Fourth of July holiday and we see the leftists of TikTok showing the many ways they don't appreciate living in America. And certainly the ways they just have no idea about American gov't & law. Or even how everyone in the world knows English because both the British Empire and the United States have become the dominant forces in the world over the last two or so centuries.

Ken Coleman: Guy applies to 1K jobs

[VIDEO] Coleman is a Ramsey personality who views and critiques this man's video via Logical Finance where he applies to 1,000 jobs. Well actually he realized he applied to 1,003 jobs using different styles of resumes. He might use a resume with a graduating college senior or with only a high school diploma. He might use different names.

The results is that if he applied for 1K jobs he only  got a quarter of responses so about 250 about of 1K. I think the main critique is that the processes of these companies are broken. They don't adequately advertise what they're looking for in these positions. They have an entry-level position posted yet reject applicants because they have no experience.

And of course since the pandemic companies have had issues trying to recruit people. I can say from my own experience that companies right now are attempting to sweeten the pot with a higher wages. This is probably an extension of the idea of raising the minimum wage and my stance on that is it should be up to these private companies what their price floor is as far as wages.

Another takeaway from Ken Coleman is that you shouldn't just rely on a resume to help get you a job. I've been saying this about student loans - betting future earnings on student loans is a bad bet. Well playing the "resume lottery" is a bad bet and the returns won't be that great. Connections get the job to know someone who knows someone will move you forward. A piece of paper won't get that great first impression across.

Of course that's not to say don't craft a resume. Your connects want to see a resume anyway of course. I just think the issue is that it's just very difficult to stand out from the crowd. It doesn't matter if you want to be a fast food cook or some hot shot middle manager, job hunting is competitive. How will you place in the competition.

BTW, in my experience I feel as if connections didn't help when I looked for a job. It might depend upon the connections and perhaps the types of jobs they pursued. I've done better on my own, however, to be honest I'm still looking for that well paying job and that ideal position - just not sure what that is though. Regardless I'm doing fine where I am, however, always looking for something better.

Is blogging dead?

I've been beginning to wonder. Years ago people in the mainstream media were talking about blogs, now it's about YouTube, Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram or even Facebook.

To be sure as much as I've taken to writing 140 characters, nothing will beat good writing. You can't do that in 140 and at that it has to be very interesting.

No one pays attention to a YouTube channel that doesn't have interesting content. I began to realize that there is a science to being a viral YouTube sensation. It's either intentional or unintentional and for the most part something viral just happens can't script it nor plan it.

Although I just recently started a FB account to attach to this blog, there's a lot of FB status I wouldn't want to share and hadn't for a long time. It's also cool to share photo albums and such from FB. But who would want to read a long status.

Remember TL;DR? LOL

Anyway, perhaps it's good that blogging has had it's heyday. This just means that the ones with something to say and hopefully the truly good writers will get the attention it deserves. Everyone else can flood FB, Twitter, Instagram and these other sites that are out there.

Besides all these other social media sites can be utilized effectively especially if you do utilize a blog.
