Defunding the police BACKFIRES in NYC

[VIDEO] They had the vote on this in NYC and you had a movement "Occupy City Hall" up there waiting around to assure it happens. I have another video in addition to Tim Pool that you see above discussing the latest response to defunding $1 billion from the NYPD budget.

It seems like one of those ideas on paper that seemed great. Some of the things you've been hearing about on the right since th George Floyd "demonstrations" at the end of May is that the liberal city gov'ts have enabled the chaos that had occurred within that period of time. It seemingly has become very chic to demonize police officers. And as a result police are either walking off the job or otherwise picking up the "blue flu".

Chicago has been known as a "war zone" in right wing circles, though city headlines reflects often the frequency of gun violence incidents and homicides on any given weekends. It's something the city still hasn't gotten a handle on, however, so far unlike NYC our city council nor our mayor had as of yet decided it was time to abolish or defund our police. The largest debate so far with regards to Chicago Police has been whether or not officers should be in our schools.

BTW, a small number of Chicago Public Schools actually have police officers posted. Go figure.

I guess one thing could be stated if defunding police backfired in NYC. The first to go in such a situation is training, you want the police to take extra care of who they arrest be very sensitive to those minorities they might have to deal with. Yeah well like any other occupation or profession, police needs training in certain situations. And then noted by Pool, NYPD already eliminated their plain clothes undercover officers that were reportedly effective in keeping peace in NYC neighborhoods. Uhhhhhhhhh, now crime out of control although I'm not trying to say its gone up to 1970s or 1980s levels of crime. Only a New Yorker could verify that for me....

So anyway here's a video by Ami Horowitz that I want to share with you. He interviews whites in NYC about the role of police especially towards Black communities and then he asks Blacks about police. This probably isn't the first time you heard the term white privilege, but I'm going to say here you will see it in action here. [VIDEO]
It's white privilege to say "f#ck the police" proudly and loudly without fearing any repercussions. If you live in a decent neighborhood it is certainly a privilege to say crime ridden Black communities would be better off without police. But then you go to those crime ridden Black communities and guess who fears the withdrawal of police protection. You guessed it, the Black community.
