If racism is a virus...

Then what about what's going on in Seattle? I'm now hearing how a radical group of citizens are setting up an autonomous zone in honor of George Floyd via Newsalert.

Racism is an idea just like communism. For many generations after the second World War - we just celebrated the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings at Normandy - we were fearful of communism. We never knew why we were fearful other than concerns over nuclear war. However, we fought against the idea of totalitarian communism for many decades until the Soviet Union fell.

Now we've also been fighting the idea of racism for many years. Certainly it's a vicious idea and virus, I'd like to think we're winning. The problem is how we're going back fighting racism. Do we fight racism by singling out an entire group forcing them to prove their not racist only to turn around and say they're racists anyway?

What's been going on since the death of George Floyd especially is troubling. We should look at how our police officers are doing our job, but a callous disregard for a citizen at the hands of a careless and negligent police officer has also really exposed the worst aspects of activism I've seen so far.

Finally I really do miss Protest Warrior
Racism without a doubt is a very toxic idea. Let's keep that in mind shall we!
