Timcast IRL: Harvard Offers Course To Learn About LGBTQ Infants, Sparking Outrage

[VIDEO] From the cultural war, how can infants be LGBTQ? And a further discussion with the cast from Timcast IRL podcast. The ongoing issue by the fringe to further sexualize and "transition" young people. When watching this discussion please use discretion, some of this will sound very uncomfortable. And for those going through it, it should be uncomfortable anyway!

Matt Walsh: Trans YouTuber Responds To What Is A Woman Trailer

[VIDEO] This past summer I viewed Matt Walsh's documentary What is a Woman? The video above well the documentary hadn't premiered online at DailyWire.com when this video was uploaded in late May 2022. I have seen the documentary which is a shocking look at this idea of radical gender ideology and that gender is a social construct and the efforts to transition children & adolescents to another gender.

What Walsh takes a look at is a reaction to a trailer for his soon to premier documentary and as you see his goal is "cancel" them. The person in question is trans and they seem to have an issue with the concept of Walsh's documentary. So as Walsh and a "transman" with regret is denounced as a transphobe, an African tribe for their own cultural sensibilities seems to get a pass (perhaps she doesn't want to be cancelled for racism.

Now I mention a "transman" with regret here. The "transman" is one Scott Newgent who as a woman was very beautiful, however, at 42 she went into transition. Now she looks like a typical middle-aged white male, however, you can tell by the inflections of his voice and by his displays of emotion that you can sense something feminine there. He realizes that going into such a vulnerable point in his life caused him to arrive at the point of no return. He realizes that all the procedures to turn her into a middle aged man might one day end his life where he shows scars from a skin graft used to create for him male genitalia.

Yeah that's a transphobe....you know one thing learned in the documentary is that puberty blockers are also used to chemically castrate sex offenders. However, what I'm learning more and more about this issue is that there is a human tragedy going on.

My perception is that this is being pushed more and more into the mainstream and worst still it's being pushed on far more vulnerable people than Scott Newgent. The vulnerable includes children and adolescents who may not have a concept entirely of what it means to be "trans" and worse still becoming trans includes medical treatment. It means hormones and it means surgeries - surgeries that unfortunately are irreversible so there's no coming back from that once it's done. And it's totally horrible to do that to vulnerable people in their childhood & adolescent who are still developing mentally and physically.

I suppose all I can add to this is that, we need to question this. It's not transphobic to ask questions about the mental and health effects of medically transitioning human beings to another gender. We have to question if it's even healthy.

With this said I do believe everyone has the right to live their lives as they see fit. I'd have to say Scott Newgent at 42 years old knew what she was getting herself into and now regrets that decision and knew he was vulnerable going through it. If she made that decision to go through that medical transition she made that choice, what we must have an issue with is allowing at the very least a very vulnerable adolescent to make the same life altering decision. Newgent is now actively trying to help parents keep their children from going through what he had and knowing that they shouldn't be allowed to make that decision.

Shapiro reacts to 'Is 5 years old too young to medically transition?'

[VIDEO] Ben Shapiro reacts to a video by Ami Horowitz where he passes around a petition to people on a university campus in California (probably) with regards to a five-year-old child wanting to transition to another gender and her very wonderful parents are preventing that. Unfortunately there are a lot of people willing to sign that petition and not protect the child from some decisions that are irreversible.

Also that man in the end the only one seen with common sense and peep the woman who tells Horowitz that if he's on campus during a pandemic (I assume this was taped this year 2022) he should be wearing a mask. Lady he's outside and if you want to go there he should be socially distanced, yet....anyway. Some people's thought process. 🤷

Anyway this is in line with that interview of de-transitioner Chloe Cole who spoke with Glenn Beck recently.

Glenn Beck: De-Transitioner Exposes Dark World of 'Gender-Affirming Care'

[VIDEO] "Gender-affirming care" does sound a bit nicer than the discussion being have currently with people like Glenn Beck. Transgender, puberty blockers, mastectomy, castration, hormones, to be honest to hear all of those things as far as someone transitioning to another gender makes me a bit uncomfortable.

I've had to conclude that while I might say there isn't much I can do about an adult wanting to do all of these procedures to change their gender. For the most part I would say they know what they're getting themselves into. Still I would say I have far more things going on in my life than to worry about an adult and their own issues as far as their gender identity.

However, for Chloe Cole at the young age of 15 she had no idea what she signed up for when it came to "gender-affirming care". She now knows if she was lucky enough to have a child she can never chest breastfeed. Because she took hormones and puberty blockers she might be concerned about giving birth to children in the future, and it seems this young lady isn't yet 20. She realized on some level she has gone a bit too far, however, time will tell if she's gone past the point of no return. She realizes she should never have gone through this at such a young age.

It seems going through this transition causes more issues, especially mental health issues that it's suppose to solve. Also weak parents seem to be OK with this and sadly if a parent actively opposes their children transition they could lose custody of their children as a result and that means someone else makes that decision for that child. Someone else would "affirm" the child's new gender and approve these irreversible procedures.

The question we should ask is, why is there a push to transition children as young as 6 years old to another gender? If someone that young has no concept of the "transition" all some adult whether a parent or any other authority figure have done is set that person up for a future with a diminished quality of life.

Liberal Hivemind: Stacy Abrams is DONE

[VIDEO] I sort of hate when Liberal Hivemind gets a bit I don't know if self-congratulatory is the right term. Stacy Abrams is the presumptive Democrat nominee for Governor of Georgia and a Spelman woman and was very close to winning in 2018. I see it's going around in conservative circles that she is unmasked while sitting with a group of children who are wearing masks.

Right now the situation I'm seeing in the news is that well a number of states are discussing dropping their mask mandates. It's being discussed in Illinois although we're not quite there yet as far as it happening. And it seems a controversial issue on the right - and really with many thoughtful parents - is whether or not children must be masked or even vaccinated when they are at very low risk.

Capitol Fax: Pritzker talks PNA repeal

I just wanted to share this with you all. What made the news for political junkies in Illinois is the appeal of a Parental Notification Act. This is basically a bill that repeals parental notification if a teen has an abortion.

Rich Miller spoke to the Governor of Illinois J.B. Pritzker and he's poised to sign the repeal into law. He has come out for it and discusses it further in Miller's syndicated column.

Now with this said consider the national environment after strong Republican success in Virginia especially. Now we know consideration of parental rights can be a huge issue for the opposition to exploit.

At least in Virginia it was used as far as parental concerns over what their children are taught in public schools. And there is a report of a sexual assault in a Virginia school not too long before the state elections there.

I recognize that Pritzker is vulnerable. A good campaign that can focus on "kitchen table" issues won't be too scared of the fact that the Governor has some money - well his own - to play with.

Though don't color me naive it only depends on who gets the Republican nomination and finding out what issues resonate with the public here in Illinois. Of course it might also depend on whether or not the Democratic incumbent severely falters as Terry McAuliffe has a month before last week's elections.

What happened in Columbus, OH is a tragedy

[VIDEO] What happened to that teenaged girl in Columbus, Ohio is tragic. However, she did have a knife and was just about to stab a girl with it. By my eyes, I can't say the officer here was wrong.

It's hard for me to want to stop a knife fight. And the tweets you see in the above video  by Donut operator are amazing, it seems some are excusing the fact that the young lady brought a knife to a fight. Even justify it sayings kids have been having knife fights for eons.

The response by the "woke" crowd is basically they think the police officer who was on the scene could've handled this much differently. Just like what happened last year to the intoxicated man killed in Atlanta where that same man had his hand on the officer's taser. The police can't win now this officer has on his conscious that a young lady who barely started her life was killed. The person on the scene upset at this fact and he can't understand referring to her as a kid just after he allegedly kicked another kid in the head...

I think people just can't take the blinders off and right now the trend is, a police officer makes a quick decision based upon the circumstance - especially if it's ultimately a life saving decision - and he's still bad. Police are bad defund police, abolish police we don't need police, police perpetuates violence. We need an impotent peace keeping force full of social workers....

Liberal Hivemind: DC Mayor slammed for "despicable" tweet

[VIDEO] Basically this recent video riffs off of DC's response to a senseless homicide of a UberEats driver who was carjacked. He was killed as he was dragged by his vehicle where two minor teenaged girl one 13 and the other 15 had relieved him of his car. The car he needed to make a living and these two after mortally hurting another man were more concerned about where their cell phone is....

They have little idea what happened. Perhaps they don't know that in their actions a man lost his life. They probably don't realize the gravity of what they're charged with. Yeah charged with theft or auto-theft or carjacking then add murder. These two young women who remain unidentified may well have no idea that they may lose decades of their lives for this if convicted.

I was confused by the tweet reference in the video. He purports this to be Mayor Muriel Bowser's response to this crime. It's no accident that these girls were trying to carjack someone..

Anyway, Mayor Bowser shared a video from the Metro Police about what to do to avoid being a victim of carjacking. That was her only response and perhaps for Liberal Hivemind doesn't give much solace to a family who's lost their patriarch. I've been trying to find that tweet, and see that it's been deleted. Shame...

Changing grading system to combat racism

I had a request to write about this and tweeted about it last nite

Well I'm writing about it! This was a link I shared from Instapundit last nite
Students will no longer be graded based on a yearly average, or on how late they turn in assignments. Those are just some of the major grading changes approved this week by California's second-largest school district.

The San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) is overhauling the way it grades students. Board members say the changes are part of a larger effort to combat racism.

“This is part of our honest reckoning as a school district,” says SDUSD Vice President Richard Barrera. “If we’re actually going to be an anti-racist school district, we have to confront practices like this that have gone on for years and years.”

“This is part of our honest reckoning as a school district,” says SDUSD Vice President Richard Barrera. “If we’re actually going to be an anti-racist school district, we have to confront practices like this that have gone on for years and years.”

This sounds good though

Academic grades will now focus on mastery of the material, not a yearly average, which board members say penalizes students who get a slow start, or who struggle at points throughout the year.

Another big change, teachers can no longer consider non-material factors when grading. Things like turning work in on time and classroom behavior will now instead count towards a student's citizenship grade, not their academic grade.
...
Student School Board Member Zachary Patterson, who is also a junior at University City High School, says while some classmates expressed concerns about grade inflation, overall the feedback from his peers is positive.

Grade inflation is always a concerned, students getting grades they didn't exactly earn. Though I'm sure many students don't mind being graded on a curve. WTF is a citizenship grade?

Students in elementary school used to be graded on conduct, however, I do think that's very subjective. Mastery of material is important, but then we live in a time where say mathematics could be considered sexist or racist so I think that's dangerous if you're creating a grading system that combats "systemic racism".

As I stated there is a possibility that this well intended change can only serve to set back those minority students it's designed to help. 🤷

Attend a pro-police rally have people threaten your job...

I don't normally post on Sundays although that custom has been broken fairly recently, but I just needed to share this lunacy from Reason:

David Peterson is an art professor at Skidmore College, a private liberal arts college in Saratoga Springs, New York. In late July, the professor and his wife, Andrea Peterson, attended a "Back the Blue" rally—not as supporters of the cause, they say, but as curious spectators.

"Given the painful events that continue to unfold across this nation, I guess we just felt compelled to see first-hand how all of this was playing out in our own community," he later told the student newspaper.

They stood on the edges of event, watching pro- and anti-law enforcement demonstrators argue with each other. After 20 minutes, the Petersons left to eat dinner.

But unbeknownst to Peterson, the couple's attendance at the rally was noticed. Now Skidmore students are demanding that both Peterson be fired for "engaging in hateful conduct that threatens Black Skidmore students," according to Times-Union columnist Chris Churchill, who wrote about the controversy.

All Professor Peterson and his wife did at this Back the Blue rally was to observe. If you're down with BLM and their fcuk the police rhetoric they can't be observers, they have to say fcuk the police....

So here's the truth of this matter with these students with the professor feelings over logic. Logic is thrown out of the window. If you're not with the students who are there for an education and likely utilizing student aid, student loans or even their family's money to say their boycotting a member of the faculty because their classroom is no longer  considered a safe space is utter lunacy. No longer a safe space because they were observers to a pro-police rally and the people who demonstrated against the rally. 🤷

I will refer you to my free expression page, although if you're a passive observer not taking either side free expression doesn't apply here unless someone out there just decides your presence and lack of participation constitutes expression.

Is college worth it?

[VIDEO] I wish I had this advice from Dave Ramsey back in high school. The expectations for many of us whether from our families to even some of the teachers/counselors in school was that we'd go to college. The advice I should've gotten was about planning and then of course having a plan once I got the degree.

What does this mean? What type of job do you plan to have once you graduate? How much money are you willing to spend on college?

With that said over the years, I've had to realize that perhaps we've been going overboard with sending our young people to college. It's an important investment for sure, but again most young people need to plan. I really didn't even if it took me some time to finally finish.

Another thing that I've said is that it seems a college degree has become devalued and taken for granted to the point where it's not just another high school diploma. An undergrad degree once had value, how do we give it value again?

This clip was from a little over three years ago and hopefully parents are discussing college and long term plans with their children who are high school juniors or seniors.

Mark Dice: Guess what they're upset about now

[VIDEO] Mark Dice portrays the absurdity of feminists complaining about today's toys for children. And it illustrates one main thing to me, why not let kids be kids. I think today's adults and perhaps in some cases parents are subjecting their kids to some very unfortunate social engineering.

Why not let boys be into what we could call boys toys. And why not let me girls be into what we could call girls toys.

I go back to my childhood I was into Lego, toy cars (remember Micro Machines), buses, or even model trains. I also had some sports toys such as a Fisher-Price toy golf set which once I discovered hockey quickly became hockey sticks.

Either way instead of complaining about what toys are marketed towards, let the kids decide what they want to play with. Why feel the need to engineer what the kids into to fit an agenda that gender is a social construct? Could it be fear that the children will prove the adults wrong that perhaps gender isn't a social construct?

This is a tough clip to watch, the relationship between two Black men

[VIDEO] The clip you see here is tough to watch. I'm not a fan of Judge Greg Mathis, actually because during the past 20 years these judge shows have proliferated I've just lost interest in them. It's not just about the law - and bear in mind these aren't real courts these shows are technically arbitration based - it's about the drama of each case.

Perhaps I have a rose-colored view of what these shows were vs. the realization that TV production is a business and these shows have to have a selling point. This episode would've had me with this clip, sometimes you want to see someone get admonished for showing their true character

We see a kid arguing with his uncle. The kid tells his story of leaving Oakland, California and avoiding the street gangs. We learn that he has no parents and goes to St. Louis, Missouri to get on his feet. Unfortunately he had a tough uncle who didn't know how to let up.

Yeah it's clear I'm taking a side here. There was an article that gave an update on this young man and it seems he's doing OK getting his education, became a youth pastor. Who knows what his family relationships are with this said uncle.

And also Mathis had a tough life and turned his life around to become a legit judge and he himself has one of these judge shows. So Greg Mathis could relate to this young man.

Well anyway I hope you get something from this clip. And I want you to know it's tough when two Black males one young and the other older just can't get along. Not to continue this narrative but a strong male influence in your corner does wonders. Of course what doesn't help is the wrong approach as we see with this uncle.

First year student housing issues at CAU

I can relate somewhat with the students of Clark-Atlanta University who are experience some issues with their housing as they began their fall semester:
Clark Atlanta University freshman and sophomores must live on campus to ensure they “receive a strong foundation and create a path of success,” the school’s website says.

But for many students, campus living served as a distracting stressor instead of a stabilizing element on the first day of the fall semester. Sophomore Asma Alamin spent Wednesday morning in Augusta, where she lives, seeking information about temporary housing instead of going to class like she’d planned.

The 23-year-old received an email from CAU in April that included her housing assignment and roommate’s name. When she got to campus on Monday, there was a “huge line” of students waiting for dorm keys.

The students were eventually asked to sign in and wait for a call with more information, Alamin said. The school later told her no dorms were available.

“I feel like Clark needs to be there for their students,” the pre-med student said Wednesday. Alamin said she feels let down, having had higher expectations for the Historically Black College and University (HBCU).

A CAU spokesman said in a statement Monday that students who hadn’t completed the “financial enrollment process are being offered temporary housing.” Alamin said that option wasn’t presented to her.
Alluded to in an article from The Root:
Clark Atlanta’s crisis is indicative of the problems of many small colleges. Institutions that are financially strapped or don’t have large endowments like larger, predominately white institutions that often survive on the revenue from tuition and housing. Because of this, these kinds of issues become prevalent, especially at historically black colleges.

Sara Goldrick-Rab, a professor of higher education policy and sociology who researches college housing at Temple University, says colleges force students to live on campus oftentimes because colleges view housing as a money-maker.
Ahhhh housing is a money maker, but then what excuse does CAU have to not having housing available for students? I wanted to say HBCUs should do better, and why because many of their students are coming from backgrounds which enables them to procure student loans and grants. And if CAU is a lot like Morehouse - a private university - going there isn't cheap.

My experience at Morehouse especially during the first decade of the 21st century gave me a lesson about how Morehouse ran their affairs. There were points where I feel as if the prestigious institution could've done some things more efficiently especially registration, housing or financial aid. Perhaps make it more easier for students and their families to understand the process. I often felt Morehouse had nothing on the community college I left behind to go to Atlanta.

Then someone shared this article which shows it's not just HBCUs that have this problem. Evidently this is a problem at UC Berkely, having more students than beds to provide for them - especially if they must stay on campus the first two years of college.

There has to be a solution. Perhaps stop enrolling more students than they can accomodate. Perhaps make some changes to their procedures in situations like this. Perhaps find ways to accomodate the demand and that might mean you'd have to create some housing in the surrounding neighborhoods which during my time at Morehouse didn't exist.

What can we do about it?

Capitol Fax: Stop calling the cops for stupid stuff

[VIDEO] Saw this video from our local CBS affiliate earlier today. A parent had police and DCFS called on them because they only saw a child walking a dog. Sounds like someone was a busy-body and decided to cause some drama over it.

But to call authorities who can make an even bigger drama of this. DCFS those are the folks that can take children away and at least the police didn't see anything wrong here and moved along. Someone was willing to take this very far.

And the reason I'm sharing this and in keeping with the title of this post from Rich Miller's CapFax:
While looking out your house’s window in Wilmette you see a little girl walking her dog without any adults around. Do you 1) Ignore it because this is Wilmette and the kid is old enough to walk her own dog; 2) Go outside and ask the little girl if she’s OK because maybe she isn’t old enough and could’ve wandered off; or 3) Immediately call the cops? If you chose “3″ I just cannot understand you at all…
Yes, I can't understand either. Perhaps add this to recurring meme from this summer people calling police for the smallest non-sensical reason. People BBQing in a park, sitting in a car reading a book, etc. I'm glad we have police, but they need to be out looking for the bad guys not checking out every single paranoid call!

Prager U: War on boys

[VIDEO] Sort of a piggy back on the recent Stossel vid on how gov't caused the boy crisis. Which argued in part that welfare programs have essentially taken the men - the fathers of children - out of their families and away from their children.

Watch the video above and then click a link to another post and then consider another recent post on how wives and husbands view each other's income. I'm making a wild connection here, however, why not just note that boys have been somewhat being downplayed.

In another video we talk about the boy crisis and how boys - well and girls too - don't have their fathers. Is it because father's are being downplayed these days?

Either way the point of this video is well boys learn different from girls. Boys have different interests from girls. However I could conclude that the education system seems to favor girls. As a result the boys begin to fall behind and for society that could be trouble. We want the girls to succeed of course, however, we want the boys to succeed also!

Separation...

I'm afraid I'm a tad late to this party with regards to the children of illegal immigrants being separated from their families. In this case, we've heard of some bad stories involving children crossing the border into this country. Of course as this is being debated in Washington and even with an executive order being signed by the President seeking to end this police there are some other issues to consider.

For example, illegal immigrant children being separated from their families are being compared to children separated from their parents by the criminal justice system. And evidently that number is a larger number than these illegal immigrants that have caught fire in political circles lately.

I wanted to show you a racial angle to this and presumably this could be the angle of disproportionate sentencing between whites and minorities in the criminal justice system. That is perhaps the difference between a minority getting a good lawyer versus say whites. Ideally a good attorney can keep you out of jail, though I can recognize that it's likely deeper than that. And I wish I had more stats and studies on hand to really back this assertion up.

To start I've been following Boyce Watkins over at my other instagram handle The Sixth Ward and occasionally regram some of his posts. Here's a few posts he did regarding this issue.

Dr. Helen: Should Your Child Attend an Ivy League?

If you want know my answer, no one parent nor student should put a whole lot of stock in attending an Ivy League university. If you get admitted great, but realize that it's not the end of the world if you choose another university. It's also not the end of the world if you decided that trying to get in proves to be too rigorous and you need a break.

Now that you know my opinion read this by Dr. Helen who just so happens to be the wife of the Instapundit! Though Instapundit is actually Glenn Reynolds not Ed Driscoll who actually wrote the post I just linked.

Children's TV nostalgia

[VIDEO] Watching this brings back some interesting memories. In the late 1980s our home was connected to cable TV for the first time. It was my first exposure to Nickelodeon - a network advertised for children. However this wasn't exactly my first exposure to the children's game show Double Dare. It aired in syndication around the nation back then in addition to airing on cable.

Before I became fascinated with pro-wrestling or Star Trek it was game shows. In the late 80s it was hard to change the dial during the daytime without running into a game show. Especially without cable if you only got the channels 2, 5, 7, 9, 11, 32, 50, or 66 (before they became a Spanish network) in Chicago.

Think about it. There was The Price is Right, Classic Concentration, Card Sharks, Blockbusters, Jeopardy and surely some others that had been then in production. There wasn't a game show out there for the younger audience especially children. Double Dare certainly fit the Nickelodeon network back then with the emphasis on slop or messes or even green slime.

I remember when in about 1988, a family version of Double Dare aired on the emerging FOX TV network. It didn't last beyond that summer, but it was interesting to see a version of a children's game during the prime time hours on a broadcast network on Saturday. It was much different than the game show I became used to.

Of course as happens over time, things evolve. Double Dare ceased production in the early 1990s. I grew up a bit after that and lost interest in Nickelodeon as a regular viewing option. It also didn't help that periodically the cable subscription would be cancelled for reasons that likely include costs. If I recall having options beyond the regular broadcast networks weren't as readily available as they are now. Our local cable company eventually evolved into Comcast and these days there are more competition as far as TV services.

As much as I want to get into the technology of cable or even cable boxes between then and now, I'll save that for another time. This post is about nostalgia for one of my old favorites from my youth. And as an aside Nickelodeon tried to bring back Double Dare for a new millennium and sadly it didn't take. I wouldn't even watch it when it was in production in 2000, however, who knows if the executives at Nickelodeon might consider bringing back this game show one more time.

BTW, for a few months last year on Sunday nights Buzzr aired episodes of a 1970s game show also called Double Dare. It counts a young Alex Trebek as host for it's one year in production. It wasn't as sloppy and messy as the Nickelodeon show, however, to my adult sensibilities it was an interesting game of wits and risk. It also was the first game show with that name although it proved not to be an issue when the Double Dare I'm most familiar with aired in the 1980s.

Charlie Gard

I'm going to ache for Charlie's parents. I don't yet have any children but it's shame what happened during the course of at least the past month of so. They wanted their baby who isn't yet a year old to have a chance at life, and unfortunately were thwarted by health and legal authorities in Britain and Europe.

The authorities didn't want them to attempt to sent their baby who is suffering from a rare genetic condition. This story even elicitied a tweet from the President indicating that he would like to help facilitate a visit for the parents and child to visit this nation so that they could seek further treatment for their boy.

Sadly we learned that it's too late. His life is over and he's not even one-full year! Unfortunately parents and doctors disagree over the appropriate course of action, however, in Great Britain doctors can seemingly overrule parents. Seeking an experimental treatment for this child in his condition they believed would cause the child more pain. So the doctors got backed up by the courts who and the course of action the doctors intended was to take this 11-month-old off of life support.

The parents of Charlie has found out after an examination that this experiment treatment isn't like to help him. Whatever damage from this genetic condition has been too far advance for this experiment treatment to do any good.

So, these death panels we hear about especially during the debate over Obamacare? Well we see one example if we look into created a socialized single-payer health care system in America. You as a parent want to help your child, but the resources to treat your child they may decide needs to go elsewhere because medicine did all they could and the condition isn't changing. I just got to say that's cold! Perhaps there's a virtue to a consumer based system Charlie's parents should be able to get second or third opinions.

So with the opinion of an American doctor - as far as this experimental treatment is over - and that means his parents have ended all appeals. And Charlie's life will end soon and it hadn't even gotten off the ground.

Finally I shared this video over at E.M. during the past month and in relation to Charlie's case. I will share it here - although it's a 10-year-old vid. An example of how a public health care system many not always work in favor of someone who absolutely needs treatment. [VIDEO]
