Timcast IRL: New lockdowns coming?

[VIDEO] Tim Pool discusses the news of new mask mandates coming out of the Atlanta HBCU, Morris Brown College and within the movie company Lionsgate. Here's more out of Morris Brown - school is just about starting later this month down there - from CBS News:

Atlanta-based Morris Brown College has announced that the school is reinstating its Covid mask mandate for the next two weeks as a result of positive cases at the Atlanta University Center.

The historically black college posted a note on its official Instagram account noting that the protocols would be in effect for the next 14 days. This includes a requirement for mask-wearing by students and employees, physical distancing, contact tracing, and other significant efforts to reduce the spread of Covid-19 among the population on the Atlanta campus.

There is a new variant that they're concerned about

Medical experts have indicated that they are watching new variants like EG.5, which the World Health Organization has determined is a variant of interest.

So some of the mitigations are common sense although some might debate that wearing masks might not be entirely effective. Social distancing and washing hands seems to be the most common sense thing to do, everyday. That should be normal.

However, I'm remembering the effects of lockdowns in 2020. And I like Tim Pool's layman's explanation. We hear about these other variants the alpha variant probably was lethal though it incapacitates hosts to the point where they can't spread it. The variants that we were supposed to be concerned about after the initial bend the curve through 2021 were probably not as strong as the alpha variant though they might be more contagious.

Regardless I hope that there is someone in the public health or public administration field who are looking at 2020 and proposing better responses to a similar contagion. And as they discussed two weeks to bend the curve for a virus we don't understand, felt prudent at that time. However, the more this continued the more problematic it would become. I would hope we wouldn't do that again.

Thought, allow me to add some of this news is coming out not too far out from a Presidential Election. I'm keeping that in mind if I see more stories like this.

Matt Walsh: Trans YouTuber Responds To What Is A Woman Trailer

[VIDEO] This past summer I viewed Matt Walsh's documentary What is a Woman? The video above well the documentary hadn't premiered online at DailyWire.com when this video was uploaded in late May 2022. I have seen the documentary which is a shocking look at this idea of radical gender ideology and that gender is a social construct and the efforts to transition children & adolescents to another gender.

What Walsh takes a look at is a reaction to a trailer for his soon to premier documentary and as you see his goal is "cancel" them. The person in question is trans and they seem to have an issue with the concept of Walsh's documentary. So as Walsh and a "transman" with regret is denounced as a transphobe, an African tribe for their own cultural sensibilities seems to get a pass (perhaps she doesn't want to be cancelled for racism.

Now I mention a "transman" with regret here. The "transman" is one Scott Newgent who as a woman was very beautiful, however, at 42 she went into transition. Now she looks like a typical middle-aged white male, however, you can tell by the inflections of his voice and by his displays of emotion that you can sense something feminine there. He realizes that going into such a vulnerable point in his life caused him to arrive at the point of no return. He realizes that all the procedures to turn her into a middle aged man might one day end his life where he shows scars from a skin graft used to create for him male genitalia.

Yeah that's a transphobe....you know one thing learned in the documentary is that puberty blockers are also used to chemically castrate sex offenders. However, what I'm learning more and more about this issue is that there is a human tragedy going on.

My perception is that this is being pushed more and more into the mainstream and worst still it's being pushed on far more vulnerable people than Scott Newgent. The vulnerable includes children and adolescents who may not have a concept entirely of what it means to be "trans" and worse still becoming trans includes medical treatment. It means hormones and it means surgeries - surgeries that unfortunately are irreversible so there's no coming back from that once it's done. And it's totally horrible to do that to vulnerable people in their childhood & adolescent who are still developing mentally and physically.

I suppose all I can add to this is that, we need to question this. It's not transphobic to ask questions about the mental and health effects of medically transitioning human beings to another gender. We have to question if it's even healthy.

With this said I do believe everyone has the right to live their lives as they see fit. I'd have to say Scott Newgent at 42 years old knew what she was getting herself into and now regrets that decision and knew he was vulnerable going through it. If she made that decision to go through that medical transition she made that choice, what we must have an issue with is allowing at the very least a very vulnerable adolescent to make the same life altering decision. Newgent is now actively trying to help parents keep their children from going through what he had and knowing that they shouldn't be allowed to make that decision.

Tucker: This should be a crime

[VIDEO] What Tucker discusses on his program on Friday is a discussion I've seen in a number of right wing forums. I know far more about this than I even wanted to.

CBS Chicago: Chicago To Lift COVID-19 Mask Mandate On Feb. 28

[VIDEO] A step in the right direction. Believe it or not it's been just about two years since this state and other states began their mitigation policies with regards to coronavirus. There were stay-at-home orders, mask mandates, schools were closed, some workplaces were shuttered temporarily, etc.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker already announced an end to the states mask mandate imposed from late last summer. And now the city of Chicago will follow suit. Feb. 28, 2022 the city will end its own mask and vaccine mandates for most public accomodations.

Of course as far as health care facilities or public transportation that hasn't changed as of yet. You still need a mask.

ALSO, forgot to note masks may still be required in the Chicago Public Schools.

Bill O'Reilly when will the mask mandates ends

[VIDEO] Bill O'Reilly talks up over time the whole vaccine thing believing that if you're not vaxed you will get hurt. Leaving that aside because well that should be up to everyone, and that advice should be heeded by those who are most at risk we're at the seeming end of this pandemic.

As you know most of Illinois because Chicago just doesn't know yet, will likely let go of mask mandates by the end of this month. Of course that's for example as O'Reilly discusses other cities and states as well as private venues such as Disneyland.

It makes sense, now the perception becomes if you want all these restrictions on daily life based on vax status or being masked then now it's about power. It's a shame that with a serious disease as coronavirus - many just consider this like influenza - that it's become political virtue signaling as far as whether or not you take your precautions. Time to live with this thing and take to heart what we've learned with this thing, if you're sick stay home or even wear a face mask. Keep washing your hands, etc.

I've ran into people years before this pandemic if I sneeze they move away, they're concerned about getting sick. Besides sneezing or coughing is nothing, however, I won't judge if you do that. I find myself doing it sometimes now.

Still time to end some of these mitigations that we've had to live with since 2020. Time to get back to normal!

Mask mandate in Illinois over?

[VIDEO] To be honest I haven't really paid attention to the stats on this pandemic perhaps since the early days of the pandemic. Remember two years ago in March it was supposed to be 15 days to bend the curve and well it took more time than that. Then it was controversial to discuss the real science, we couldn't discuss if masks were effective - and if you ask me they're better than nothing however I'm not sure I agree with mandates.

Lately we're starting to ask how effective are vaccines and the booster - and again better than nothing however I don't agree with vax mandates. I start to wonder how effective the vaccines are if they don't prevent individuals from getting infected with coronavirus. Perhaps they do keep individuals from getting sick however it's not the perfect fix either.

I live in Illinois as you know and thankfully there will be no more mask mandate from the state. And hopefully in Chicago/Cook County we'll have no more vax mandates for public venues - restaurants and theaters. It's about time to start living with coronavirus...

And of course let's live in a new world with the precautions perhaps stay home if you're sick - cold, flu, coronavirus. Perhaps if you do have to get out wear a facemask of some sort. Mind your own hygiene and either wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. Always seek the advice of a medical professional on this.

We just got to live with this thing and of course if you're concerned about your risk of illness we have vaccines to take advantage of. I'm sure as things start to return to normal they might no longer be free.

Also excuse me for being cynical and perhaps this doesn't make since however there is an election year coming up, correct? Well yes, there is.

Liberal Hivemind: Stacy Abrams is DONE

[VIDEO] I sort of hate when Liberal Hivemind gets a bit I don't know if self-congratulatory is the right term. Stacy Abrams is the presumptive Democrat nominee for Governor of Georgia and a Spelman woman and was very close to winning in 2018. I see it's going around in conservative circles that she is unmasked while sitting with a group of children who are wearing masks.

Right now the situation I'm seeing in the news is that well a number of states are discussing dropping their mask mandates. It's being discussed in Illinois although we're not quite there yet as far as it happening. And it seems a controversial issue on the right - and really with many thoughtful parents - is whether or not children must be masked or even vaccinated when they are at very low risk.

Charlie Kirk: Lockdown bombshell

[VIDEO] Charlie Kirk opines about a study that illustrated that the lockdowns that marked most of 2020 in some parts of the world and certainly some states in this nation didn't help reduce deaths from coronavirus. Slowly but surely a lot of places around the world are coming to that realization.

Charlie Kirk would emphasize mail-in ballots or Jeff Bezos and others gaining more wealth while people further down the food chain are poorer since many had jobs that were considered "non-essential". Mail-in ballots is a shot at the alleged voting irregularities in the 2020 election. If there were no lockdowns would President Trump have been our president right now.

Of course while he doesn't go there, I will. If there were no ongoing lockdowns since March 2020 perhaps there would be no rioting. Yes that's a shot at the unrest after the death of George Floyd. I'm totally convinced of that.

Either way he's hoping some public health or even public administration scholars seriously study the after effects of gov't policy with regards to a pandemic.

NY Post: It's time to abolish 'emergency' COVID-19 powers

And we can also start with someone like Mayor Lori Lightfoot with her recent vax edict. You haven't been vaxed then you can't go to any restaurant or entertainment venue. I think she's been milking this so-called crisis enough times that it really only exposes her ineptness as Mayor of Chicago.

Excerpt from NY Post

In fact, the damages wrought by lockdowns and social isolation — medical, in terms of reduced exercise, missed medical screenings and increased drug and alcohol consumption, as well as psychological, in loneliness and anxiety — may have been worse than those wrought by COVID itself.

Also, most of the nostrums offered by the experts and Karens are nonsensical and don’t work. Masks outdoors, where COVID doesn’t really spread anyway? Plexiglas screens everywhere? Shut-down public water fountains and a wide variety of service changes in hotels, restaurants and airplanes that are attributed to COVID but really about saving money?

People have seen through this, and they’re over it. (And not just in the United States — a friend in London reports that everyone there is cheerfully going unmasked, crowding into pubs and generally ignoring whatever rules remain nominally in force.)

CapFax: Citing violent threats, Carroll abandons push to strip COVID health insurance benefits from the unvaxed

This seems to be a trend in places around the nation. Yet let's punish those who for whatever reason won't get vaxed. You might hear off handedly that those who seek medical treatment could be denied that because they didn't get vaxed or take away some privileges if you won't get vaxxed say for example travel or go to a sporting event.

And they tried it in this state a Representative named Johnathan Carroll has backed off of legislation to strip "COVOD health insurance from the unvaxed". It was said that some threats were sent to his office as a result of his proposal. Someone out there isn't happy however I hate that people resorts to violent threats. I don't think that's necessary but some people in these crazy times will take it a bit further...

Basically state Rep. Carroll realized that his proposal was divisive as seen in a statement seen in the above tweet from Capitol Fax. Of course saying that the unvaxed assumes certain risks to the point that it's all on you is certainly what's spreading among many in the country as far as whether or not you should be vaxed.

We all want to get out of this pandemic and drop these masks and the mitigations. However it's a problem to see proposals like this which as being seen time and again is only proving to divide people in the vaxed or unvaxed camps. Then wonder why people still choose to go unvaxed....

BTW, if you want to use violent threats please stop and get some help. Better yet find a hobby...

Ben Shapiro: Here is what we can expect from the Ο variant

[VIDEO] Over the weekend we hear about yet another South African coronavirus variant and you got to love the sinister voice Shapiro uses for the ÎŸ variant, very hilarious.

The operative phrase you will hear is that just like other variants in this pandemic it's more transmissible but reportedly not far more dangerous or lethal. I think hearing about these variants with the bad news about this pandemic is more designed to freak people out.

Though regardless take your precautions while the media wants us to panic. And panic just enough where we have to lockdown.

BTW, I want to get one of those Daily Wire truth bombs. Glad to see they're in stock again.

O'Reilly: Biden & Harris are TOTAL hypocrites

[VIDEO] I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Bill O'Reilly stops to talk about the latest action by the Brando....Biden administration to curb the latest variant of coronavirus which is referred to as omicron ÎŸ. Travel in and out of South Africa where last year another variant beta Î’ was cause of concern only to be replaced later by the delta Î” variant out of India. And now we've gone from the Δ variant to Ο.

So anyway what's the hypocrisy? Well in the presidential race last year Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as they ran for President attacked then President Trump's move to restrict travel from China. As you know coronavirus is said to originate in the city of Wuhan in China in the hopes of trying to stem it's spread.

And now Biden is instituting his own restrictions on travel from South Africa. Trump is a xenophobe when he did restricted travel from an area of an outbreak. However if Bran....Biden does it nothing is being said as in nothing to criticize.

Then he starts to groan at the thought of Dr. Anthony Fauci. To be honest I've hardly paid much attention to him during much of this pandemic however many on the right seem to think he's nothing more than a bureaucrat enjoy his publicity. It's also been noted elsewhere of his role in the 1980s in the AIDS epidemic which more recently he's been lauded for.

The question is what happened? Did the Trump presidency send him over the edge?

Well what I can say right now is that if there are shutdowns, this is where Americans have had enough. We don't have enough info on Ο. What's been said about all these variants is that they're more contagious and often don't seem to be anymore dangerous the more it mutates. When we get fed fear when we hear about a variant then it seems we've moved on to the next more contagious variant.

How many more people are hospitalized from it? Certainly how many more have died? Well instead we get speculation and uncertainty about any potential new variants. No end in sight to the many mitigations mandated and someone like Fauci starts discussing the potential for locking down society again. Doing that again will be a disaster...

WTF is going on in Australia?

[VIDEO] What Tucker was talking about on his show last week, you might have seen a lot of stories about online. Especially from your favorite conservative personality.

Australia has some very strict lockdowns and so does their neighbor in New Zealand although even that gov't there has recognized they needed to let go of having absolutely zero cases. It's just not going to happen thanks to the Delta variant. Which I haven't heard much news about lately.

What I didn't know is that two states have very strict border restrictions that the federal gov't there wants them to ease. Because they have control over their borders and not letting anyone in they largely have control over infections. Sounds familiar, don't we need tight control over our borders? Don't we need to insure anyone crossing over our borders wherever they're from is free of a disease that can spread rapidly?

You also see video of a man arrested a block away from his house to have a smoke. You can't tell that to the authorities there you're not supposed to leave home, there's a lockdown here. There's a manhunt for a man who's missing who's actually infected by coronavirus which is why they're searching for him. Not only is he clearly ill and not adhering to his quarantine he's flouting the lockdown.

Meanwhile, what happened to this Delta variant? We haven't heard much about it lately. That was supposed to be the next big outbreak, right?

Still you here from our politicians and certainly from authorities in Australia that if you get vaccinated you get more freedoms. Huh! So the police authorities give us our freedom in a pandemic? Isn't that backwards?

I'm sharing this tweet from my Governor to illustrate this point. More vaccinations means more freedom he says.

Allow me to state for the record I'm not anti-vaccination. Especially if you're very much at risk for this disease. The restrictions placed on citizens in this nation starting in March 2020 were prudent until they got extended in my opinion. And then you see the Governor of New York making this a "religious crusade" and replacing those healthcare workers who didn't get vaccinated with Nat'l Guard soldiers. We're getting weird about this now!

Stossel: Vaccine still work?

[VIDEO] While Afghanistan continues to dominate the news - depending upon which sources you follow. And then we got that hurricane that made landfall in Louisiana, the coronavirus and the delta variant remains an ongoing concern.

The video above by John Stossel discusses the vaccines that hopefully will curb the spread of this virus. Stossel doesn't buy into the argument of "vaccine mandates". It should be our choice what we want to inject our bodies with. And the noted distrust think Tuskegee Experiment....

All the same I don't want this blog to be the place for any doubt about any inoculations. If you have underlying conditions I will urge you to take the vaccine, especially. And if you have any questions talk to a doctor, if you already have a doctor I'm sure knowing your medical history they will allow you to make the right decision.

I want to move beyond coronavirus as much as anyone. And I definitely hate how the virus, the mitigations and even the vaccines have become very polarizing issues. The issue is moving beyond this not continuing to stoke fear!

Delta variant?

Well, it seems while things are looking good as people are getting vaccinated we still have something to worry about. The coronavirus mutates as it's one of those types of virus and that means the media will have something to get the public worried about.

We hear about a British or South African variant over the past fall and winter. And in those cases they're more transmissible and this Delta variant from India is the same more transmissible and is said to have "immune evasive properties". I hate to say it's not over, then again I hate to ignore this also. I don't want to spread fear I'd rather inform about what could come.

So let CapFax take it away from yesterday's post

So if you see your favorite cable news network talking about this then you can say this was among the places you heard about it first. Stay vigilant and if you're at risk especially get vaccinated, if you're hesitant find a doctor and ask as many questions about the vaccine. Especially any side effects...

O'Reilly on why Europe is locking down again

[VIDEO] According to Bill O'Reilly 40% of Americans are getting vaccinated and that means cases in this nation should be starting to go down. Over there in jolly ole England or Great Britain or the United Kingdom (UK) they were able to develop their own vaccine as Trump was able to get done before being ousted in last year's elections and they're going to see declines in cases.

Then I saw a headline the other day that Italy plans to lockdown. O'Reilly points to France and Ireland which are on the verge of locking down again. He refers to European leadership as "impotent" as their gov'ts weren't as willing to invest in their own pharmaceutical companies to create a vaccine that would eliminate the threat of coronavirus and all the variants thereof.

O'Reilly wanted to go Ireland can't go because cases are going up right now. And when you think about it as we pass the one year anniversary of two weeks to flatten the curve this time last year the spring seemed to see a peak of infections. Thankfully it tapered off by the time April or May rolled around, still we were in a very critical period during the spring time last year while the weather was still very cold.

I still hope for the best and like I said we should understand this virus a lot more than we had last year. Doctors have experience treating this virus and now we have a means to prevent widespread infections.

Two weeks to bend the curve

[VIDEO] Well let's mark this by noting this news out of Illinois. It seems the Land of Lincoln might follow such states as Texas and Florida into ultimately reopening as I hoped we would after almost a month of a stay-at-home order last year.

In the above video Right Angle with Bill Whittle, VodkaPundit Stephen Green, and Scott Ott marks the one year of two weeks to bend the curve becoming a perpetual quarantine. Whittle speaks in the end to the response of the politicians to this pandemic and how Americans were so greedy for toilet tissue.

Green at one point discusses a "Caren" trying to tell him the rules at a supermarket. At one point some stores had directional signs whether at eye level or stickers on the floors designation some aisles as one way in and out. And Green states that he does as I do, he does what's most convenient for him. Probably most people anywhere for the most part.

This period has been incredibly difficult without a doubt and as that "Caren" story illustrates we got people out here freaked out enough to intervene. We're heard these stories all too often freaked out when someone doesn't wear a mask, freaked out when someone doesn't social distance, freaked out when someone doesn't follow directional signs. This thing has made us weird.

What I will say is that unlike when most states made their attempts at mitigating the spread of this virus we should understand it now more than we had in the beginning. I'm glad we have a vaccine to further mitigate this illness and hopefully get our population to herd immunity.

Hopefully we got people studying this pandemic for years to come. We should know what to do and what not to do. Hopefully no one will do these lockdowns for a disease that while it has killed around half-million Americans it seems we overestimated its effects on the population.

Coronavirus variants

We don't just have the United Kingdom variant that we've heard so much about. Now there's a South African variant, this virus is mutating though as with the UK variant it's only more contagious. The virus is very contagious though seemingly not entirely lethal save for age and other pre-existing conditions.

Here's more from Scientific America:

Researchers were only partly right. The virus is indeed bad—but it is not so stable after all. SARS-CoV-2 has been acquiring minor random mutations ever since it jumped from animals to humans. These mutations can take the form of single-letter typos in the viral genetic code or deletions or insertions of longer stretches. When they occur, most mutations either kill the virus or cause no change in its structure or behavior.

But in recent months, several new variants of the original virus (also called the wild type) have been spotted that appear to cause major changes in the way the pathogen acts, including alterations to its contagiousness. These viral versions have seemingly popped up in rapid succession in different geographical regions, such as the U.K and South Africa and Brazil, and in some cases have outcompeted the existing variants. Although improved surveillance and sequencing efforts might partly explain why these variants are appearing now, some repetition in their patterns suggest the mutations are not random.

“What we’re seeing is similar mutations arising in multiple places,” says Adam Lauring, a virologist at the University of Michigan. “That’s pretty suggestive that these mutations are doing something.”

Specifically, they appear to help the virus transmit more readily and evade the immune system. This month researchers reported, for the first time, that antibodies from individuals with COVID did not completely neutralize a variant first identified in South Africa. A few people who recovered from the disease also appear to have been reinfected with the mutant virus.

Thus far, vaccines made by Moderna and Pfizer seem to work against the new variants, although Moderna has begun developing a booster shot specific to new variants. Because these two vaccines are more than 90 percent effective, a slight drop in effectiveness would still make them worth using, experts say.

I suppose we have to continue some of these measures a bit longer. Social distancing, wash hands, wear a face covering of some sort. I was impatient thinking we can just beat this thing, however, it does as nature does it replicates and creates new versions of the same bug...

O'Reilly: Thank Trump for the Coming Calm

[VIDEO] Bill O'Reilly looks at Operation Warp Speed the amazing work done to create a vaccine for the coronavirus. He predict by next May the world will begin to return to normal. And I hope it's sooner than that.

Alas, what I may agree with is that as far as what happened in the Presidential Election last month. The pandemic is probably a major contributor to Trump getting only one term. It's not just his personality which is exceptionally brash while in office, it's probably these crises which many other politicians and the national media took advantage of.

I wonder how many people just turn off the news getting tired of all the bad news regarding this pandemic.

Mutated virus

You know when a few states were ending their lockdowns or stay-at-home or shelter-in-place orders to mitigate the spread of coronavirus or COVID-19 - remember to flatten the curve which should've taken two weeks and instead kept getting extended. Anyway what was my point.

Well ending the lockdowns in places like Chicago and others bled into the unrest over the death of George Floyd. I was dismayed at the riots and looting and it became clear to me by my own eyes that perhaps authorities tried to keep people at home for too long. And I would think as the weather gets warmer people would start to get restless.

And then I consider the economic damage. There are a few businesses suffering damage to their businesses both big and small. And some were affected by ongoing unrest - and no not all of those businesses save the larger ones have insurance. Indeed you may have lost a lot of product or equipment to looting, however, insurance may not compensate for all losses.

And now I hear there is a mutated version of this virus. Something else to get the public worked up over. In Great Britain they're locking down again because of it. They wanted to get back to normal for Christmas, nope we can't go forward says Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

What is this mutation we're talking about:

On 8 December, during a regular Tuesday meeting about the spread of the pandemic coronavirus in the United Kingdom, scientists and public health experts saw a diagram that made them sit up straight. Kent, in southeastern England, was experiencing a surge in cases, and a phylogenetic tree showing viral sequences from the county looked very strange, says Nick Loman, a microbial genomicist at the University of Birmingham. Not only were half the cases caused by one specific variant of SARS-CoV-2, but that variant was sitting on a branch of the tree that literally stuck out from the rest of the data. “I’ve not seen a part of the tree that looks like this before,” Loman says.

Less than 2 weeks later, that variant is causing mayhem in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in Europe. Yesterday, U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced stricter lockdown measures, saying the strain, which goes by the name B.1.1.7, appears to be better at spreading between people. The news led many Londoners to leave the city today, before the new rules take effect, causing overcrowded railway stations. The Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy announced they were temporarily halting passenger flights from the United Kingdom. The Eurostar train between Brussels and London will stop running tonight at midnight, for at least 24 hours.

Scientists, meanwhile, are hard at work trying to figure out whether B.1.1.7 is really more adept at human-to-human transmission—not everyone is convinced yet—and if so, why. They’re also wondering how it evolved so fast. B.1.1.7 has acquired 17 mutations all at once, a feat never seen before. “There’s now a frantic push to try and characterize some of these mutations in the lab,” says Andrew Rambaut, a molecular evolutionary biologist at the University of Edinburgh.

And now some of these same Governors who locked down their states especially Gov. Cuomo (D-NY) are looking into this and sounding the alarm. Like I said another thing to get the public worked up over although let's not fret too much New York restaurants have banned Cuomo for life ha!

It seems we may have another crisis, but I very much hope I'm wrong on this. Hopefully this vaccine will help bring things back to some semblance of normal as I had been hoping for most of this year. I hoped only to see this thing come back with a vengeance!
