Glenn Beck: Proof Jan. 6 committee lied to us

[VIDEO] That whole situation on January 6, 2021 when Donald Trump before he left office rallied his supporters and urged them to peacefully protest at the US Capitol as the US Congress counted all the electoral vote has become the "insurrection".

If you watch people like Glenn Beck or even Tucker Carlson and others you see that it became a reason to hold a number of people for months without a trial. It became a means to try to impeach a President who left office. It became another means to further demolish political opposition as so-called insurrectionists.

However, as you might have seen from Tucker Carlson or as you see from Beck now we see that the public has been manipulated. That was a scary day and it's shocking to see American citizens forcibly enter the US Capitol breaking windows and what not. And then we see that perhaps what might've been reported on CNN or any other liberal news network isn't what we thought it was.

Believe me, I supported Trumps efforts to challenge the 2020 election but then there was hardly anything that could reasonably be done to change the results of that election. Unfortunately the former President wasn't able to flip those disputed electoral votes from states such as Georgia & Arizona especially.

Still January 6th was a scary day, it seemed Americans lost control in a year of a pandemic or even horrible rioting during a pandemic. I hope we don't see that again. At the same time, Americans doesn't deserve propaganda, but the truth and true justice.

Michael Franzese on 2021

[VIDEO] The former mobster discusses a number of things that happened last year, however, he starts off with the IRS wanting you to report your illegal income or even stolen property. That's been getting around as of late and that's strange isn't it. Basically providing evidence of illegal activity because the IRS wants those taxes.

Of course he doesn't stop there, however, with a new Brandon administration the coronavirus pandemic still ongoing, or even the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan 2021 was a very rough year to say the least. And before the new year there were already memes about 2020 too or two...

Minneapolis votes against defunding police

[VIDEO] Actually the title to this video from FOX News is inaccurate I believe what was on the ballot in MPLS, Minnesota is actually a plan to dismantle or abolish the MPLS Police Dept. and create a city Dept. of Public Safety. They needed to rewrite the portion of that city's charter to effectively abolish the police dept.

And thankfully with all the unrest from last year and rising crime there the people in MPLS have thought better of it. I wonder how low morale is with those police officers who remain on the force.

Yeah it seemed like such a good idea after the death of George Floyd while in police custody and then not long after that the city tears itself apart. A mayor who was seen kneeling and weeping at Floyd's casket (who just so happened to have been re-elected on Tuesday) although he didn't agree with abolishing the police dept.

Anyway, I only visited MPLS once a relative was graduating college up there in the 90s. It seemed like a very nice Midwestern big city it was certainly an exotic locale. Unfortunately how long will it take for that city recover from the destruction by some of its own residents?

The article I wanted to share about Mayor Frey's re-election should scare any jurisdiction from even thinking about use rank choice voting. There was nothing wrong with first past the post, why do progressives think they can reinvent the wheel?

I was following the Atlanta, Georgia mayoral race

Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms bows out and understandably after a difficult second half of her term having first taken office in 2018 with the pandemic and the civil unrest after the death of George Floyd. I was glad to see Kasim Reed who was her immediate successor try to regain his office this year. There will be a runoff, however, it doesn't appear that Reed will place in it.

From the AJC

A successful campaign would have been historic, making Reed just the second Atlanta mayor to win a third term in modern history.

But experts said Reed returned to a city that’s changed in the years since he managed it. Residents have sought solutions from City Hall amid a lack of affordable housing, economic disparities and social unrest following police misconduct.

Ultimately, Tuesday’s results suggest the former mayor — considered a frontrunner throughout the election due to his name recognition, fundraising ability and political prowess — was not able to overcome low favorability numbers across demographic lines, said Emory University political science Andra Gillespie.

“I think Kasim Reed lost because voters were ready to move on from his style of leadership,” Gillespie said. “The city changed, but also he changed, and I think his reputation had changed over the course of his mayoralty, which made a comeback difficult.”

Reed’s campaign was also dealt blows late in the election cycle. The president of the Atlanta NAACP strongly criticized Reed in a letter. He was also rebuked by legacy residents in the southeast Atlanta neighborhood of Peoplestown, who have fought with the city for years after Reed’s administration sought to use eminent domain to acquire the properties in the wake of destructive flooding.

Also:

Atlanta Journal-Constitution polling showed that many voters were less likely to vote for Reed because of the federal investigation at Atlanta City Hall that implicated seven city employees and four city contractors after Reed’s second term. The same poll found 50% of respondents had an unfavorable view of the former mayor.

Low voter turnout was also a factor this year.

Well as of now the top two to place in the run-off will be City Councilman Andre Dickens and City Council President Felicia Moore. More about Moore from that AJC article

Moore dominated in Buckhead, taking two-thirds of the vote in some precincts, and won on much of the Eastside. Votes from DeKalb precincts put Dickens over the top and into the No. 2 spot. While Moore got about 45% of the DeKalb vote, Dickens took 28%, more than double what Reed received.

Buckhead? Don't they want to secede from the city of Atlanta over crime issues? They voted for the city's next mayor?

From what I see Kasim Reed hasn't conceded. Perhaps they're still counting down there in ATL. And who knows if the results are razon thing the former mayor could ask for a recount. That's how this article started off anyway.

Atlanta is a nice city, it's where Morehouse College is located. It's a great place to visit and there are places there I do want to visit. It's a city too busy to hate and of course a wonderful place to visit and to live here's hoping it has dedicated leadership to continue moving it forward.

Youngkin "clinched" the Governors office

[VIDEO] The momentum began once former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe said parents didn't have the right to tell schools what to teach their children. Conservative media took that and ran with it and it's safe to say McAwfu.....McAuliffe never recovered. The race tightened in the polls and ultimately Youngkin less than a week before election day was leading in polls.

The race was somewhat expected to be very tight and it was. Though by my eyes percentage wise (that rhymes) not that tight.

VOA: Virginia’s Gubernatorial Election Reflects US National Politics

[VIDEO] Who would have thought we'd hear from Voice of America on this blog. They talk about the developments regarding the gubernatorial election in Virginia.

McAuliffe was first elected Governor of Virginia in 2013 and in that year the President of the United States was Barack Obama and they were both Democrats. That's unusual as in Virginia usually the Governor's office party goes opposite of the current President.

And another thing about this race is that it might be a "bellwether" as far as where American could go in 2022. How might the balance of power in Congress could go? Perhaps how could other gubernatorial races could go around the country.

What happens in Virginia determines the strategy for next year. Election Day for Virginians is not that far away at this point!

Red Eagle Politics: Dems getting desperate Obama campaigns in Virginia and New Jersey

[VIDEO] Well Obama likes to campaign and he's out to help out as it turns out two Democrat imcumbents in two races that should've been safe. Of course Red Eagle shares a few Obama soundbites from his recent speeches. I'll leave it to you to as far as whether or not Obama helped Terry McAuliffe in Va. and Gov. Phil Murphy in N.J.

Hard to believe these two gubernatorial races will be decided next Tuesday. We're in the homestretch and it turns out both races have become competitive.

Youngkin wins applause from a former Virginia Governor who is a Democrat

Uhhhhhhhh I didn't realize former Virginia Gov. Douglas Wilder is still around. And he's not happy with what other Democrat Governor's of Virginia haven't done with that state's HBCUs.

One former Virginia Democratic governor is not happy with the Democrats who followed him in that office. But he has a kind word about Glenn Youngkin, the Republican hopeful now running for governor of the commonwealth.

“The inequities relative to Historically Black Colleges and Universities — HBCUs — in Virginia continue in 2021. Little, if anything, has ever been done by the state for Virginia Union, Hampton, and Virginia University of Lynchburg,” L. Douglas Wilder wrote in an essay published Saturday on his personal website.

Mr. Wilder, in office from 1990 to 1994, said he previously had contacted Rep. Bobby Scott, Virginia Democrat, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam and a bipartisan group of legislative leaders in Richmond. He requested they allocate $50 million to each of the HBCUs from funds the commonwealth received through the American Rescue Plan Act.

There was no response. The campuses did not receive any portion of the $4.3 billion available to Virginia.

“Not a penny,” Mr. Wilder wrote.
....
“When I watched Glenn Youngkin last evening commit to provide funding for all five of our HBCUs in any budget he submitted to the legislature if he were governor, it was historical. This is the first time any candidate for governor has made this public commitment,” Mr. Wilder wrote in his essay.

“Our HBCUs are subjected to disparate conditions and they deserve better. As I’ve stated, no Democrat can win a statewide election in Virginia without massive support from the black community; however, their needs continue to be ignored by those who purport to represent them,” the former governor said.

“The people are not stupid; they are voting on issues and for those who speak to the issues that impact their lives. Maybe Northam and McAuliffe will tell us why they have not supported our HBCUs. Stay tuned,” Mr. Wilder concluded.

Via Instapundit with another comment bipartisan support. And Youngkin has made the pledge why won't McAwful? Why did that governor who was caught in blackface never commit to that?

We're a lot closer to election day at this point. I don't know what the polls say.

2021: Virginia and New Jersey Governor's Races are competitive

[VIDEO] I wanted to share this video with you this evening. I have paid far more attention to the competitive election in the allegedly blue state of Virginia where the last time I checked polls the two major candidates in the race are in a dead heat.

But then who knew that a race coming up next month was very competitive in New Jersey. I say Virginia is allegedly a blue state because I'm led to believe its in fact a deep purple. And at that some issues have emerged that could keep a former governor seeking his old office after four years from ultimately regaining it. That includes the issues of coronavirus and parental issues with their local school boards.

Well the coronavirus mitigations at the local school district level had been discussed over time depending upon who you follow in the news. School want to stay closed while parents insist they must reopen. Far more recently a father was being harassed and recorded being tackled by police due to school board inaction to a sexual assault on his daughter. On FOX News especially this father has been interviewed and expressing his frustration with this process.

Aside from those issues now we go to New Jersey another solidly blue state that since the start of this pandemic also have been in the news for their mitigation policies. And it's shocking to find out that in a state that generally votes Democrat - even after two terms of a very vocal Republican governor - is willing to consider another Republican.

Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy is in a competitive race with Republican Jack Ciattarelli. The most recent poll from Emerson College shows it within 6% in favor of Murphy. While New Jersey is considered a solidly blue state federally it's amazing that a Republican can compete statewide. Murphy could well be re-elected as much as the Republican could very well lose in Virginia and were not that far away from election day at this point.

However, I'm sure the political class are keeping an eye on these two states and especially Virginia as we do have a midterm election next year. With the President's polling starting to go downwards losing both Virginia and New Jersey could be momentum for a Republican wave in Congress.

Time will tell on this as a lot could change but who knows find the right candidates run them in the races they can win. The Biden/Harris administration could continue to struggle which could be a drag on Democrats down the ballot. We shall see!

McAuliffe walks off from an interview

[VIDEO] I've been hearing about this interview former VA Gov. Terry McAuliffe (or is it McAwful) walked off on this interview with a local TV station in Virginia. I just fast forwarded to the end of this 11 minute video and saw him as the reporter Nick Minock. His final response before walking off was to attack his Republican opponent Glenn Youngkin who he says will ban abortion and compares him to Trump.

According to Politico a day ago a Monmouth University poll has the race at a tie 46-46:

The poll shows both men with 46 percent support among registered voters. McAuliffe has lost ground since the last poll from the university in September, in which he held a narrow, 5-point lead. Two percent of voters prefer another candidate, and 7 percent are undecided.

Various modeling of the potential electorate from the pollster found anywhere from a 3-point lead for the former governor to a 3-point lead for Youngkin, a first-time candidate and private equity executive, the first time he has had a lead in any of Monmouth’s modeling in the state.

The two men have seen their support flip among independent voters. Youngkin leads 48 percent to 39 percent in this month’s poll, compared to a 46 percent to 37 percent lead for McAuliffe in the September poll. Notably, McAuliffe’s lead among women has shrunk from a 14-point lead last month, down to a 4-point lead in the poll now.

“Suburban women, especially in Northern Virginia, have been crucial to the sizable victories Democrats have enjoyed in the commonwealth since 2017,” said Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmouth University Polling Institute, in a release accompanying the poll.

“However, their support is not registering at the same level this time around,” he continued. “This is due partly to a shift in key issues important to these voters and partly to dampened enthusiasm among the party faithful.”

Could this be a sign for the 2022 midterms?

And I think McAuliffe is running for his old office again after waiting out a four year term with the office being held by Gov. Ralph Northam he's been rattled by the dynamics of this race.

Larry Elder explains his run for Governor in the recall

[VIDEO] This is Larry Elder's first video in about a month. Last month Elder was a candidate in the recall election which failed to dislodge Gov. Gavin Newsom from power in California. He talks about what that recall election failed. And he starts off boiling it down to an SNL sketch which shows Jim Belushi pointing at someone in courtroom and yelling "WITCH!"

Noted was an attempted assault on Elder by some unhinged citizen wearing a pink haired gorilla mask, she was attempting to throw an egg at him - missed badly BTW. The video started off with him admonishing the LA Times editorial board for referring to him as a "blackface for white supremacy".

Now think about this in the last 20 years or longer California has gone increasingly Democrat. The witch quote I'm referring to is Elder's way of saying California Democrats just pointed to the fact that he was a right-wing Republican to convince the Democrat base to vote against recall. He noted that the abortion issue became a thing in this campaign.

O'Reilly: McAuliffe lies about CRT

[VIDEO] Well, I wanted to take the remainder of Indigenous People/Columbus Day off from this blog. However, it was also necessary to offer this further coverage of what happened with Terry McAuliffe (or is it McAwful?) trying to evade the question from a Black anchorwoman in Virgina with regards to critical race theory (CRT). As you saw below and as you see from Bill O'Reilly the question about defining CRT to McAuliffe - who was formerly Virginia's Governor from 2014 to 2018 - his response to is was to say it was racist to ask.

Hmmm this was his answer to a Black anchorwoman at a TV station in Virginia. McAuliffe didn't want to answer, he didn't want to touch this and you saw that in the earlier post today.

O'Reilly goes further to say that McAuliffe is going to lose in Virginia. Youngkin the Republican candidate is the likely victor. However I don't keep track of polling, but when I had been aware of polling the race is often portrayed as very close. Usually with McAuliffe with a very tight lead. Though we have less than a month to go before Virginians go to the polls.

Oh wait we're still in a pandemic so perhaps Virginia might be heaving on mail-in voting. And that's something we will need to reign in unless someone finds a way to pull out the negative racial component to that.

Another buzzword we've been hearing since Biden took office, this idea of equity? What's equity? Well if equity means defining people by their racial background or skin color and go no further then equity isn't that much of a good thing.

Ingraham Angle: Youngkin slams former Gov. McAuliffe over parental control comments

[VIDEO] Remember that recent post about this year's race for Virginia Governor between the Democrat former Gov. Terry McAuliffe and his opponent Republican Glenn Youngkin.

I was hoping to find a stand-alone clip and preferably not by either a campaign or even from a biased media source. Indeed if this was just a run of the mill YouTube channel like my own which you're free to subscribe probably would work regardless of their agenda.

Either way perhaps this is the moment where the governor's race there could turn. In that recent post I shared a video regarding a poll showing the race has tightened. And as far as schools as far as the pandemic or even critical race theory in some districts I hear Virginia is a hot bed for those issues.

From the comments I first saw on the Ingraham Angle Wednesday nite it's amazing. I think parents as tax paying citizens should be very concerned about what their children are being taught in school. We're not talking about prayer in schools or anything like that we want to make sure our children are being educated to the point where they can truly function in our society.

Of course if you believe that public schools are now "indoctrination centers" students are being trained to become social justice activists more concerned about their preferred pronouns than basic skills to go through life. It's a shame that it's up for debate now.

Last nite Laura Ingraham interviews Glenn Youngkin.... At this point another month before the elections for Governor not only in Virginia, but New Jersey as well. I guess nothing to see there, yet.

Red Eagle Politics: Can Virginia flip?

[VIDEO] In Virginia, the governor can't run for a second consecutive term. Basically governors of Virginia usually will only have one four year term and they must stand down to transition the office to a new governor. I believe this is the only state in the union where this is true as most states either allow a governor multiple terms with no limits or often a governor must stand down after two terms.

In 2021 in Virginia the matchup is Glenn Youngkin vs former VA Gov. Terry McAuliffe. Youngkin is a venture capitalist who was successful in securing the Republican nomination for VA Governor over the summer. Gov. McAuliffe who is known for his association with Bill & Hillary Clinton as well as being a one-time Chairman of the Democrat Nat'l Committee had formerly served as VA Governor from 2014 to 2018. As the Democrat nominee for Governor this year McAuliffe is seeking to regain his former office.

However, Red Eagle Politics discusses a poll from the University of Mary Washington that shows that this years VA Governor's race is beginning to tighten and potentially Youngkin could become the state 74th governor. Youngkin could become first Republican in eight years as the last one to hold the Governor's office there is Bob McDonnell.

However, the election is not until November so as we can expect things will change through election day. What's not lost upon me is that Viriginia is often portrayed as a state with a blue tint. Last year Virginians voted for Joe Biden for President and for Hillary Clinton in 2016. I've always thought of Virginia as a red state but they've shown that in national elections they will vote Democrat.

Instead of just declaring Virginia as a blue state I may well view them as more purple. All executive offices there are held by Democrats and that could change this year in the 2021 race, the Virginia state General Assembly is held by Democrats.

Part of the discussion you see above is even if Youngkin falls short in his race, could Republicans overcome the Democrat majority there. The edge for Democrats in the House of Delegates is 10 seats and the state Senate is 3 seats.

Well perhaps I shall revisit this race in November and see where the numbers lie in the Virginia General Assembly. We shall also see who might actually become Virginia's 74th Governor.

And let's not forget there is one more election this year in the state of New Jersey!

Larry Elder on Black families angry with public education

[VIDEO] As you know Larry Elder is running in the recall election for Governor of California. If Golden State voters recall Gov. Gavin Newsom, there is a strong possibility that Elder would be voted to replace Newsom.

As Elder rolls out his campaign for Governor, one issue he has discussed is public education. He discusses the systemic racism of public education in Los Angeles. The systemic racism being schools in low-income communities have the least qualified teachers. And the schools may have staff that look like the community - i.e. Black teachers and administrators - however that doesn't help the schools continue to perform.

Another focus of this video released after Elder declared his candidacy for Governor is that California plans to phase out a basic skills test that will help teachers attain their credentials. What is addressed here is racism - and the ones who like to talk about systemic racism is unable to adequately define it in their own words. You've heard the argument that the SAT is culturally biased, are the the tests that California teachers are expected to take for their credentials culturally biased?

Is the Golden State willfully setting the bar lower for aspiring teachers only to set them up to fail? We hear of teachers who can't spell or even seemingly confused at simple math problems. Meanwhile we hear 75% of Black boys are unable to read at their grade level. And there are frustrated parents out there who don't like what they see with their children and the people who are charged with educating them.

Can Larry Elder fix an education system that seems very set in its ways?

Kasim Reed is back

[VIDEO] Seems like an ego driven speech but then hey that's what you have in politics. And in this speech he gave at a birthday function for himself - his birthday has just passed - he made note of the issues going on in Atlanta, GA right now. For the past year I just have the idea that the ATL just isn't doing that great and we have to go no further than the unrest after George Floyd's death and Rayshard Brooks happened a bit after that.

I had the idea that the current Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms was very weak. I have to do some research but I've seen out there that she was nothing more than a "placeholder" for when Reed - who was Mayor of ATL from 2010-18 - would come back to run the city. If I recall correctly the last mayoral race pitted Bottoms who was a member of the ATL city council before she became mayor and a white member of the ATL city council. The question wasn't who was the best person for that role but whether or not the Mayor of ATL should still be black?

Yeah I got to find an article about that.

Either way Reed's comments that you see above seem to indicate that he's unhappy about the condition of the city he formerly led and is announcing to the world that he's back. Perhaps this is one mayoral race that would be interesting to look at. The question here probably doesn't matter for this year but an easy one is whether or not he'd have lead a city any differently under a pandemic or if he'd have control of ATL's streets during a period of unrest.

Then again I find myself wondering if Rahm Emanuel would've fared much better if he had a third term instead of a term under Lori Lightfoot here in Chicago.

Georgia runoff & January 6th, 2021

As I share this, the Georgia runoffs for their two US Senate seats appear to be too close to call. I'm willing to predict that one of those two seats will remain Republican. The pressure cooker of this is that well Georgia is one of those disputed states from last year's presidential election and course a recorded call of Trump attempting to convince GA's Secretary of State to look into voter fraud.

And tomorrow will be January 6th when the US Congress will meet to certify the electoral vote. And there are a sizeable number of Senators and Representatives who will object to the certification over allegations of voter fraud.

Well I want to share with you Illinois Republican congressional response. How many of them might choose to join the group of Congressmen & women who might join in the object. They only mention LaHood, Kinzinger, and Bost. Also noted at CapFax Rodney Davis who represents amongst other parts of his district the University of Illinois has not taken a position as of yet.

I also want to note that there is a protest being planned in Washington, DC just in time for this certification. I think if anything really weird happens with this election this might light a fuse under the more destructive elements of our society. Whether or not they were involved in the process all they need is an excuse to get fired up. Here's hoping things remain peaceful though I'm not sure the objections will really do anything to change the process.

Indeed we may well be in uncharted territory whatever happens tomorrow.

Conservatives turn on police

[VIDEO] To have watched this earlier this afternoon from Tim Pool is very shocking. Conservatives are turning against the police.

It's really about the pandemic and it's conduct and unfortunately police are called upon to enforce the many mandates in place for coronavirus. Wear a mask, social distancing, limiting numbers at a gathering, coming into homes to enforce mandates, etc. I could keep going.

In Salem, Oregon there was a protest against the mitigation measures there and unfortunately those who may be conservative are now saying fcuk the police. Now it's getting scary, and I see this as a case of the police have a job to do and unfortunately that means enforcing these mandates.

It was in the news that California will have an indefinite lockdown - actually two regions in California will have indefinite lockdowns. And increasingly I see Americans - and certainly citizens of other nations getting weary of these mitigation measures. We hear from our nation's public health officials that although we have a vaccine coming it'll be a minute before we get back to normal we still have to socially distance or wear masks or have other restrictions.

It seems our public officials are deadset on locking down the nation and deciding what work is essential or what travel is necessary. Continuing to control who goes where or how many for a holiday gathering. Even attempting to limit god-given rights of assembly or protest while allowing the more destructive amongst us to continue to destroy. Times are getting weird.

And then add that the Congress will certify with objections from both chambers the electoral votes of President-elect Joe Biden were in very uncharted territory due to this ongoing tragedy of the pandemic. Here's hoping 2021 emerges in a better state than we left behind 2020.
