I'm sharing this video from Ben Shapiro because I like the idea of bipartisanship. A Democrat defending a Republican Governor who appeared at a press conference regarding a shooting and there was about to be a protest. What this lady said with regards to bullets have no party I feel that.
Let's delve into it.
There was a shooting at a Dollar General store in Chicago Jacksonville, Florida the victims were Black and the alleged shooter was white. Was this incident racially motivated? I don't know.
What Ben Shapiro discusses here is that what this Jacksonville Councilwoman Ju'Coby Pittman did was a community thing. Gov. DeSantis at least showed up to the scene of a crime and at that a heavily covered crime. A crime that could possibly be motivated by race. A bullet knows no party and if a Republican has to work together for Democrats for more security or police or anything to ensure a safe community then that's a good thing.
And yeah DeSantis is running for President. He might not have a change against Trump, however, if something high profile like this comes up I do hope a Ron DeSantis shows up. He's governed Florida very well I do hope he can do the same for America.
I might also add there is a time and place for politics and a "prayer vigil" for the victims of this potentially racially motivated crime. We can debate that the State of Florida isn't keeping their citizens safe. For now at least we know that there is some attention devoted to this issue. And of course there is a time to let DeSantis know that in light of this event he still isn't doing the right thing.
So anyway as stated in the above video I felt the comments of Ms. Pittman and we need more of it from our public officials. Yeah there is time for political theater and then there is time to come together as a community.
