Is California a "failed state"?

We're going to dump on California in this post sharing this almost hour long video from The First featuring San Diego resident & host Mike Slater. One main takeaway news may travel from east to west, however, culture travels from west to east.

Hollywood used to care if something played in Peoria aka Middle America. Now that doesn't matter, in my own words if you're a cultural influencer you want to influence the rest of the nation to be as "woke" as you are. It doesn't matter if Peoria can't relate to it because you're so right and if they can't relate then they're bigots. IMHO that's how it goes.

Another point Slater made in his initial statement is how Texas celebrates bringing another California business within their borders, but he says slow down. What if brining a new company and new jobs into your part of the world means you're only importing failed values into your state. Slater refers to those failed values as San Francisco liberalism, yes the place where apps were created so you can avoid areas saturated with poop.

Slater also talked about considering leaving California and he asked a pastor who advised him not to leave. Why? Well one example cited was mega churches leave California and they're cultural influence decreases overnight. Slater says he doesn't know why, but if you leave the great cultural influence of California you don't have the reach you used to. Perhaps there is more to it than that.

I've yet to see the whole video, but I wanted to share this with you. Perhaps we'll get through this almost hour video together. [VIDEO]
