Someone hit me with this idea recently. Will Joe Biden - the 46th P.O.T.U.S. - will be able to survive the midterms in 2022? I think this is the main prediction based on how things have been going right now in America. The economy, the war in Ukraine, the Afghanistan withdrawal (yeah that's being nice), gas prices, and perhaps even our President just isn't instilling confidence in the gov't.
I could compare this to a discussion I had election nite 2016. The person on the other end of the phone just was so upset that Donald Trump was elected the 45th P.O.T.U.S. and as he repeated the accusations against him you know he doesn't respect women and he's a racist (I'm being nice there too). He wanted the powers-that-be to insure that Hillary Clinton would be elected. I was really horrified at his assertions and thankfully he didn't get what he wanted.
However, I wonder under what circumstances could we dislodge President Biden from office? I doubt the Democrat Congress will impeach him though I can believe some pressure behind the scenes could be put onto him to leave office after the midterms.
And another thing to consider. Do the powers-that-be want the equally inept Vice President Kamala Harris to take the reigns?
Either way a President Harris won't help the Democrat brand and there isn't anyone who has a real chance to keep the Republicans from taking back the Presidency. And yes I'm not quite assuming Donald Trump will try again though he would be in a very strong position to do so.
I will hold to my prediction that barring any other weirdness, Biden will likely not run again. Surely someone in the Democrat party is trying to convince him that it's not in the best interest of the party for him to run again. At the same time who's to say someone in the party might be convincing him to step aside after the midterm elections this year?
Well all we can do is speculate as in the year plus he's been in office things have been incredibly rough and it happened in a very short period of time. He's quickly gone from being a popular president having 81 million votes cast in his favor to a very unpopular president who shown a real inability to communicate effectively.
