[VIDEO] Well I don't know about that. What's cited here on Liberal Hivemind is that a former congresswoman from Hawaii a moderate Democrat Tulsi Gabbard seems to be the only one calling on Chicago's mayor to resign. I'm not that disenchanted enough to call on Mayor Lightfoot to resign, I'm more apt to believe she will either choose not to run for a second term or she loses her re-election bid in 2023.
While it doesn't sound good that the police union - over 200 active and retired police - unanimously voted no confidence in the mayor and two top leadership of the Chicago Police. I don't know much weight that holds on the voting public. Thankfully unlike in New York or Los Angeles there doesn't seem like there is a lot of support for defunding police in the Windy City. Not that there hasn't been unfortunate police incidents over the past spring.
However, Lightfoot's time in office has been very rough. I thought with her work with the Chicago Police board would be something of an asset and it seems it wasn't. And with her attempt to prioritize journalists of color for media availability I wonder if she's sure who has her back.
I guess the next question to ask is who supports her? If you believe Hivemind even the woke aren't fully behind her. What group in Chicago will allow Mayor Lightfoot to hobble across the finish line in '23.
Well we have two years to go in her term. And I'm sure next year when it's time to vote for Governor of Illinois we'll know whether or not she's in or out for 2023?
