Defund police is a mistake

Today we're going back to what caused me to write daily updates to this blog for the first time in years. I was dismayed by this unrest over the past summer and we're already in a time of crisis with this pandemic, something I really haven't wrote much about here. Insanity is thinking that we don't need police and we need to abolish or defund them and have social workers come out instead.

Of course if anyone advocates for that IMHO I just see groups of people who themselves are lawless. They're vandalizing property - i.e. property that's not theirs - they're engaging in destruction. They're the ones who think looting is reparations and simple penance to insure they have clothes or food.

So let's state something, the moment you decided you can diminish police what happens, well crime goes up. What a surprise, there are always going to be people who don't respect the people around them and their property. Policing isn't perfect, but they're necessary for a society.

Let's look at Tim Pool talking about what's going on in Minneapolis. It seems for a while the leaders up there were trending back towards maybe they realized their folly and then it seems they're continuing their push to defund their police. Meanwhile carjackings are up 537%.... [VIDEO]

Minneapolis, Minnesota I hardly knew you. Been up to the Twin Cities only once in my life. What I do recall is that it was a nice place to visit. Probably colder than Chicago in the winter and it was a progressive paradise. And now we see what progressivism can lead to, and the results from the past summer is not good. I  hope the voters rise up and not buy into the narrative and be shamed into shutting up because of their "privilege".

Another video I want to share with you is from Bill O'Reilly at The First who comments on the defund the police narrative. He refers to my Gov. J.B. Pritzker as incompetent. I'll address those comments, however, here he takes on the defund the police narrative. He starts off with saying our former President Barack Obama taking on the narrative where he realizes a certain segment of society will run out the room at the suggestion.

President Obama isn't wrong, depending upon where you are in America this is politically dangerous. It seems to be working in places like Minneapolis, Seattle, or even New York City unfortunately. The voters probably know it's a bad idea especially if it results in higher crime in low-income neighborhoods. However, Obama the messiah the message of hope and change we see gets slammed for it. The radicals, the progressive liberals, the Squad of Congress, don't like the first Black president saying defund the police is a bad message [VIDEO]

OK, what do you want to say about Gov. Pritzker, Levois?

In the beginning I had lauded Pritzkers decisions as far as this pandemic. And certainly it was during a time when we just didn't understand the coronavirus. I took issue with his reasoning during his press conferences such as making statements as "we're actually going to hit our peak" at a time when the curve seemed to be trending downward. He especially said that when he decided to extend the stay-at-home order into May. Of course near the end of that month we had those riots and the looting and I just stated IMO that perhaps he kept people at home for too long.

May was when the weather warmed up and people just were restless. Understandable because nice weather who wants to be at home when we could be at a beach cooling off. This summer was weird because of this pandemic as the virus never burned out, while the numbers seemed very low people were still getting sick with this thing. People were still getting infected.

Anyway O'Reilly addressed Pritzker's comments - probably at one of his recent press conferences regarding Illinois' mitigation efforts. He made note of policing and fighting crime and said we have to create programs for workforce develop, education - hold on that's nothing new, and mental health services for example. O'Reilly is right criminality isn't going away. There are always going to be people who won't respect the law, and we need a police to combat that.

No social program is going to take care of this issue. It's kind of like we still need a military the world might be generally peaceful in 2020, however, what are the odds that some nation down the road might increasingly become belligerent. The same rules apply here, we can say there are disparities with some ethnicities in the criminal justice system but that doesn't mean we let a criminal off the hook after they stole or even assaulted?

I'm a long way from saying Pritzker is incompetent. I do think he's wrong on somethings. I wish he conducted his mitigation efforts different, but we're clearly not Florida. We're at a point where I think we understand coronavirus a lot better.

Another thing to add is I'm glad this state effectively defeated the fair tax. If this was a normal year I don't know if we'd have the same result, probably a good chance that perhaps it would've worked out who knows.

However, if Mancow Muller is serious about running for Governor in '22?
