Well I'm for this as long as the US Space Force can have their own space missions. I don't think having Captains or Commanders will matter much if the Space Force can't go to space.
And I hope Congressman Dan Crenshaw - who is in fact a former Navy Seal - can get his amendment into the 2021 National Defense Authorization act. And it's amazing that the original Captain James T. Kirk was the one who proposed using naval ranks for the newest US Armed Service.
Just to give you a briefing and yet another change of pace, here are the ranks for Starfleet from the Star Trek universe. And also consider the Space Force's insignia almost resembles the insignia for the futuristic Starfleet from Star Trek.
