I saw a little bit about the talk of Paris Hilton last night on The O'Reilly Factor and Hannity & Colmes. I got tired of all the talk about her and what they would have given her or how she found herself in the situation she's in now. They even debated whether or not she might have been on withdrawal or was really afraid of going back to jail.
I try not to take glee in anyone's misery but if anything she blew her various opportunities to stay out of jail. She couldn't stay away from that alcohol, she couldn't just get her license renewed, and she couldn't show up to court on time. And the LA county sheriff well he's in trouble now for releasing her.
Look who knows what happens if for whatever reason we're sent to jail. For some of us jail isn't a punishment, but it certainly was for Ms. Hilton judging by her reaction in court yesterday. You see I do believe she was given some breaks but she kept spitting in the face of the law and this just has to be a wake-up call for her.
You know, I wonder how many Americans dislike her. And why? Is it because of how she achieved her fame? Or is it that she's a spoiled rich young woman?
Now that she's in the public eye and fodder for the tabloids, this is going to be thrown back in her face for a while. I'm sure she's going to be embarrased by it, but then again who knows she might like this attention. She seems to thrive on it.
You know if you watch promos for Entertainment Tonight or Access Hollywood and other programs you might see a story about how much money Hilton might get for this ordeal. Oh lord will this even end? Will Hilton ever just serve her time and it's over?
This morning I was looking at a couple of blog posts. Both with interesting commentaries and both bearing pictures of Hilton crying over her situation. I would be harsh about it, but it's not very funny either. But you know these 45 or so days (maybe less for good behavior) will be over in no time for Ms. Hilton. She'd better make some friends unlike people out in the real world they might love her for it.

I wasn't engaged in the Paris Hilton jail story -- until she was let out after only 3 days. This bothered me because on that same day, I had to go to Traffic Court myself, and ran into a friend whose life has been ruined behind a situation similar to Paris's.
At that point, the differing standards and class inequities were too real for me to ignore.
Nice post! Hope you're enjoying the beautiful weather we have.
