From the Daily Southtown today.
Jesse Jackson Jr. talks about election day as his wife was WINNING the 7th ward aldermanic seat. He started his day going with his wife to vote, then he took a flight to Washington, because it was still a workday for him. Then he waited minutes on a plane to get back home in time for his wife's victory celebration.
Their home (the Congressman and his wife's) was a central command for this election. They celebrated at the South Shore Cultural Center. A very nice place, BTW.
Yeah the Congressman doesn't like to miss a vote. He's fanatical about that. He likes to be there for the roll call. This article mentions that in Springfield it's not uncommon for a legislator to have a friend press a button for them. You know it's too bad Jackson never served in Springfield. He would actually vote.
