Helen Andrews on The Great Feminization

Helen Andrews is a freelance writer and author whose 2025 essay "The Great Feminization" (published in Compact Magazine) offers a provocative explanation for the rise of wokeness. In a roughly 35-minute UnHerd interview with Freddie Sayers, uploaded around the same time, Andrews lays out her case clearly and compellingly.

Andrews makes a direct connection with the unrest of summer 2020. When George Floyd’s death in May 2020 sparked a bystander video that went viral, those pre-existing dynamics met a national spark. The result was what Andrews calls “the eruption of insanity in 2020”: rapid nationwide protests (many peaceful but others turning into riots with widespread looting, arson, and roughly $1–2 billion in damage), corporate and institutional capitulations, accelerated DEI pledges, statue removals, speech codes, and a wave of cancellations. Institutions prioritized signaling care, avoiding internal conflict, and enforcing group cohesion—hallmarks of the feminized style—over rigorous debate about trade-offs, data on policing/crime, or long-term consequences.

In short, feminization didn’t cause Floyd’s death or the initial outrage, but it shaped the style and scale of the response: fast-moving empathy-driven solidarity, intolerance for dissent framed as harm, and symbolism over practical outcomes. Andrews sees 2020 not as the root but as a preview—“just a small taste”—of how these norms play out at scale once institutions are sufficiently feminized.

This framing helps explain why the unrest and institutional reactions felt so uniform and emotionally charged across elite sectors, even as core problems in places like Chicago’s South Side (crime, family breakdown, education) saw little real improvement from the performative wave. It’s a demographic and cultural lens rather than purely partisan or ideological.

Michael Franzese interviews Tommy Robinson

[VIDEO] Tommy Robinson is an activist making his rounds in conservative (right-wing) circles that has a lot to say about immigration and his thoughts on Islamic immigration. What he says seems infuriating, however, when you consider the whole idea of illegal immigration or unlimited immigration you might want to rethink what that entails.

Why does it seem like they want to fill up western nations with people who have little in common with the society? Could it be an invasion?

Tucker talks with Milo Yiannopoulos

[VIDEO] From a recent podcast Tucker Carlson discusses with Milo Yiannopoulos a question that's largely forbidden in the West. A question that was bluntly asked well over a decade ago on a Ugandan TV show, "Why are you gay?"

The ensuing discussion between the aforementioned two men in 2025 was interesting and very eye-opening.

Allow me to warn you that an epithet will be mentioned numerous times during this almost two and a half hour interview.

Well this has become a Tucker blog has it.

The last video on this blog was from Tucker Carlson who spoke with Vladimir Putin, President of Russia.

Recently Tucker speaks with Chinese ex-pat (actually is she an ex-patriate) Xi Van Fleet. She left China when she was younger to come to America. She witnessed the cultural revolution in China which proved to be a very bloody social upheaval and she fears something similar is happening in these United States. Give it a watch! [VIDEO]

Glenn Beck: Canada is PROOF the Great Reset is already

[VIDEO] Beck has always been out there since I started watching his old FOX News program to even the clips of him I share from YouTube. He's talking about the Great Reset and ESG scores or social credit. Connecting it with the emergency powers in Canada that seems financially comprehensive in some ways. Basically if you support in anyway groups that say a gov't or perhaps a corporation doesn't like then they can make life very difficult for you.

It can affect who you do business with, your livelihood, or even your personal relationships. A scary conspiration I'd say. One connection to make is this Great Reset all about social credit scores.

What is "Identity Socialism"

[VIDEO] There's a new wave of activism taking over American life and I just named it. Socialism was about the working class, right? Well when was the last time you really heard a socialist or a leftist or a progressive leftist actually talk about the working class?

You haven't unless they're concerned about the plight of the minimum wage worker and fighting to raise the minimum wage to $15/hr in most states where that has been successful or even federally. Then again they've supplanted the activism for the working class to divisions based on race, gender, or even sexual orientation. Identity socialism is more about division that is pitting differing groups of people against each other. Also to be inclusive, but also turn around and be exclusive.

Ever heard of Herbert Marcuse? He was a professor who came from Germany according to Dinesh D'Souza he left there before the rise of Adolf Hitler came to America to be a professor in San Diego, Calif. And the idea of identity socialism was his brain child.

He turned certain identities such as race, gender, or even college students into the categories of the righteous workers. While the evil capitalists were also grouped as far as race, gender, or even soldiers. I'm going to make you guess what races or genders are in each categories.

Unfortunately if you're concerned that college ideas are seeping into the real world, we're just about there now. How do we deprogram society into considering more realistic ideas.

John Anderson: Prof. Glenn Loury | Bullying and Structural Racism

[VIDEO] A clip of the video that I shared with you on Tuesday morning. Just over 8 mins of Prof. Glenn Loury talking about "systemic racism" and bullying. Another argument to be made here is how eliminating disparities between different identity groups can only lead to some form of totalitarianism. I would say this is the second half of this video.

I suppose if you want to be against "systemic racism" you have to be against those groups with their "inherent" advantages in the society.

Cook County Beverage Tax #tweetyoureciept

It seems here in Chicago our politicians have this great need to engage in some form of social engineering. I wish I had been paying attention to whatever debate took place at the county regarding this tax. Of course these things are never about encouraging people to change their behaviors it's about the revenue. It's about taking some of YOUR money!

Out of Cook County Chicago we have examples of a plastic bottle tax which is per bottle in the city, the idea is to discourage people from buying these plastic bottles that may or may not biodegrade. Just like these plastic grocery bags we'll talk about in a bit. Either way want a pack of bottle water however many there in too bad a tax per bottle. So far it appears the city has little interest in repealing that tax as far as I know. In stead my mother prefers to go outside of the city to buy a pack of bottle water.

Of course more recently is the bag tax. During the past year Chicago attempted to ban the simple grocery bags to discourage their use among city residents. Well that failed and around New Years a 7 cent tax was instituted on plastic and paper bags. The idea was to encourage people to bring their own bags to shop, although the reality is again for the city to further collect more revenue. One report has shown that the city actually has come short of their expected revenue forecasts. Irony one ordinance to discourage use of grocery bags was repealed and now a new ordinance to address this issue also hasn't lived up to expectiations.

And now the beverage tax and even our county board president who at first hides behind the idea that instituting this tax will promote public health admits this is about raising revenue:
"Raising revenue was never my first choice," Preckwinkle said in November. "This measure provides important revenue, not only to avoid damaging cuts for public health and public safety systems, but also to expand our community-based interventions in both arenas. It also puts us on a stable financial footing for the next three fiscal years, during which we will not have to approve any additional tax increases."

Cook County is depending on the tax revenue. It had been expecting the tax to bring in $67.5 million this year and $200.6 million in 2018.

The county lost about $20 million from not being able to collect the tax in July, said Frank Shuftan, a spokesman for Preckwinkle. It will have to make up that money in order to balance the budget, and that could mean layoffs. Shuftan said a small number of employees have already been laid off, but he couldn't provide an exact figure.
This article makes sure to note that this law was poorly written and it was made clear that no business people were at the table to help write this law and institute this tax. In fact a business group filed a lawsuit to block the tax back in June. There was an injunction that was recently lifted that allowed for the ultimate implementation of this tax which was originally supposed to start in July.

I was late to the party by the twitter account of the Tribune Editorial Board wanted citizens to post their reciepts to show the amount of the beverage tax. Hopefully to show some discontent and even though this was almost a day old by the time I learned of this, you can see my tweet below.

Also I see via the CBS Chicago link that there was at least one vote against this tax by Commissioner Boykin who's a Democrat. There are 17 members of the board of commissioners. I got to find out how many votes were in favor and who voted on it.

BTW, this is the only one that caught my interest there are other laws implemented by Chicago that may prove damaging to businesses, workers, and residents. I'd like to share my thoughts on them in the near future. And furthermore as much as these laws are well meaning my concern is that they could also result in the opposite effect.

BTW I forgot that the County is attempting to sue this anti-beverage tax business group for $17 million. The county wants the money they lost out on as the injunction prevented them from collecting on the taxes. My tweet upon hearing about this
