Gov. Pritzker the worst governor in U.S. history?

[VIDEO] Bill O'Reilly is looking at this legislation eliminating cash bail in Illinois. I'm not equipped to go word for word as far as the law that Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed into law earlier this week. However what I have heard about this law it's in line with the times we're in.

The law is primarily designed to address any inequity within the criminal justice system for low-income people who just so happen to be Black and hispanic. If you're low-income it's very hard to put up bail money to stay out of jail and if you have to put up some money to tay out of jail is an incentive to show up for court. With this legislation we're hearing things about being a danger to society or a flight risk another reason perhaps we require the accused to put up bail money.

Of course the narrative in the times we've been in for the past year is basically our criminal justice system is systemically racist and we just need to go easier on people of color. I'd be lying to you if unjust things have happened in our nation's history. I'd be lying to you if there were some racism in those unjust acts, however, to turn our criminal justice system into yet another toothless and impotent system in the name of fighting systemic racism would be a huge concern of mine.

I'm a long way from saying Pritzker is the worst governor in history. I think he's been very effective for Illinois even if I don't agree with all that he's done so far especially with this pandemic. And thankfully it'll be a few years before provisions of this bill will be in full effect.

Though, next year is an election year for Pritzker. Could this law hurt him or help him is the question. Time will tell of course.
