A Chicago native I really like this story about conservative thinker Shelby Steele. Pay attention to the part of this story where his swimming coach didn't invite him to a retreat because the coach was willing to accomdate his mother who didn't like Black people. There's a real history there that perhaps most may not know about since he's a conservative.

Also, it's simply amazing that he and his twin brother are polar opposites politically and work on the same university campus but yet pass by without speaking. They're not on speaking terms.
