115th & Michigan back in 1934...

And at this intersection the only building that remains is the one with the drugs sign on the northeast corner. That building is still there. I never thought I would see such an old picture from the Roseland neighborhood courtesy of Unknown Chicago. That other nice building on the southeast corner, well that building was torn down, the property is currently vacant.

All I can say is wow! As a long time residential of this area I'd know this intersection in any decade. That building with the Drugs sign is the Currency Exchange now....I believe

It is beautiful to see photographs of commercial building which held essential services for a the once vibrant business strip of South Michigan Avenue. I remember the building with the "Drugs" sign being a beauty or cosmetology school in the between 1976 until around 1980. According to Google Maps, it's now a currency exchange.
