Students to Install Exhibit on 1908 Springfield Race Riots on Friday, August 3

Date: Friday, August 3, 2 – 4 p.m.

Location: Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library, downtown Springfield

Description: Eighteen area high school students who have been participating in the Presidential Library and Museum’s Summer Scholars program will help install an exhibit on the 1908 Springfield Race Riots that they have researched and designed. The two-week Summer Scholars program involved meetings with historians, a photojournalism workshop, library research, field trips, job shadowing, and training in exhibit preparation.

Exhibit: The exhibit will be on public display at the Presidential Library through October 4.
