I had to write a far more timely news-based post regarding President Trump's new Air Force One (the one donated by Qatar in May 2025) and why he had to use the older Air Force One planes.

Glenn Beck recently highlighted a revealing moment from President Trump’s trip abroad. In his segment, Beck played clips from a gaggle aboard Air Force One where reporters were unusually asked to lower their window shades on the return flight from Turkey. Beck used the exchange to explore the serious security threats the president faces and how Trump appears to be mentally preparing for them.

The New Plane vs. the Reliable Veteran
Trump had been proudly flying the sleek new Boeing 747 gifted by Qatar — a luxurious “flying palace” with striking red, white, blue, and gold trim. He showed it off with visible enthusiasm.
For the return leg, however, the team switched to the older, familiar blue-and-white Air Force One. The new jet’s rushed retrofit left it without the veteran plane’s full defensive capabilities: missile warning sensors, electronic countermeasures, hardened communications, and shielding designed for extreme threats.
The older aircraft, refined over decades, is purpose-built for high-risk missions — getting the president home safely through hostile airspace.
The Iran Context
The timing added real urgency. Turkey borders Iran, placing the departure area within range of Iranian missiles and drones. Iran had openly threatened Trump, especially after recent U.S. and Israeli actions. The new plane was sent ahead on a safer route, while the more secure older jet handled the riskier segment. Lowering the shades was a straightforward precaution.
Trump’s Candid Comment
Near the end of the discussion, Trump made a blunt remark to a reporter about the threats: “I’m number one on their list before you, but if I go, you go.” The line captured the shared danger — and Trump’s direct way of addressing it.

Beck tied the moment to broader themes of leadership, resilience, and making peace with risks in a dangerous world. It humanizes the intense pressures on the presidency today.
