[VIDEO] Well Jason Siler takes a look at this. A tweet from Mayor Lori Lightfoot prioritizing interview requests from journalists of color. Mayor Lightfoot making comments decrying the lack of diversity in the press especially for her press availabilities. And then trying to deflect responsibility for the crime in Chicago.
Siler connects her "racism" with her inability to run Chicago. Basically he uses her "ham-handed rollout" to go after other big city Democratic mayors who as they decry "systemic racism" have seen their cities fall victims to high crime.
As I've stated since this story has broken, I don't see the Mayor's ploy as a means to really diversify the city's press. I really could see this as her attempting to seek out more favorable coverage. Perhaps its putting it very simply, but it seems to me she's going to seek out people who she believes will be soft.

It's plain to see that Lightfoot is running for cover from her own massive failures. Her latest statements show she's totally failed the City and its residents (except for the felons, rioters, looters, etc. that she supported with State's Attorney Kim "No prosecutions" Foxx, Chief Judge "let 'em all out on bond" Evans, Tommy "Electronic Monitoring works, except when it doesn't" Dart, and the Illinois legislature, who continue to pass laws that hobble police from legitimately enforcing the law. Now she wants only Wiffle-Ball level interviews so nobody asks her why her staffs are a revolving-door position, how her social justice policies have failed, why she won't fairly negotiate with the FOP, and how she plans to get her own race from constantly running around shooting people, besides blaming the guns, firearm dealers, law-abiding gun owners, the phase of the moon, the police, etc. And to top it off, there are black journalists/reporters on staff with major outlets TODAY. Her attempt to confuse the issue by insisting on making news coverage racist/racial is her playing the race card to a failed finish.
Hard to explain why your race is responsible for the downfall of a once great city...
