CTA remembers 9/11

Took this photo last night at Roosevelt shown on the screen that not only has advertisements and news updates, but also shows train arrival and departure information.

Snapped this shot on the train today stickers on the side of Red Line trains to commemorate 9/11/2001.

The Chicago Transit Authority is remembering this day and I do remember after the events took place at New York City's WTC I was on the L that day keeping an eye on the Sears (now Willis) Tower. It was quite disconcerting, but certainly now I create this parallel.

I'm glad that the CTA remembers September 11, 2001, but I'm disappointed that they chose to knowledge it in this way.

In my opinion the money and labor that went to planning this campaign, (ordering and purchasing the stickers, applying them to every bus and train car, and eventually cleaning them off the buses and train cars when they become sun faded, dirty, and worn out) would be far better spent on security, repairs and maintenance, cleaning, or delaying the next fare increase. It seems like an empty gesture and a sad waste of limited government funds.
