Ten-year-old boy found hanged

Is this suicide or is this an accident? Do the parents really care about this boy? What is it with these young children killing themselves? From the Sun-Times today.

I only question this because I just can't imagine how a young child can concieve of suicide on their own.

A 10-year-old boy hanged himself at his South Side over the weekend.

Kemonta Mims, of the 6100 block of South King Drive, was pronounced dead Saturday, Dec. 8 at 1:22 p.m. at University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital. Mims died from the hanging and his death was determined to be a suicide, an autopsy performed Sunday determined, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Police responded to the boy’s home Saturday and he was found inside his bedroom closet. A belt was wrapped around his neck and hung on a nail, according to Grand Crossing District police.

I CAN'T BELEIVE THAT THE POLICE OR DCFS IS NOT INVESTIGATING THE DEATH OF THIS CHILD WHEN THIS IS THE SECOND CHILD OF THE SAME MOTHER FOUND THE SAME WAY AS HIS WOULD BE OLDER BROTHER. THIS IS THE REASON THAT CHILDREN ARE ABUSED FOR YEARS TO COME WITHOUT THE AUTHORITIES HAVING A CLUE OF WHATS GOING ON. LETS SAY THIS IS A SUICIDE, BUT WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN GOING ON IN THIS 10 YEAR OLD CHILDS LIFE THAT WAS SO VERY TERRIBLE THAT HE HAD NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO TAKE HIS LIFE AWAY. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE.
