The Year of the Black Republican?

I suppose we'll have to see about that but thanks to Evan Coyne Maloney we see a take on the developments among three races around the nation this year. Ken Blackwell won his primary in Ohio for governor. Lynn Swann is struggling in Pennsylvania but hopefully he'll have time. Michael Steele in Maryland was said to be heavily recruited in the Washington Post article Maloney linked to.

Maloney goes to the traditional issues involved with a black running as the GOP standard bearer. I have always felt that this antipathy (if I can call it that) is unfair, but all I can say for these three gentleman is we will see if they will be able to break the hold of the Democratic Party on black voters. The other articles linked in Maloney's article are interesting as well.

Ken (doll) Blackwell is a crook and let's see if he can win farely..

Lynn Swann - I read he needs the black community vote, and he don't even like being around them.

In the end, we will see what happens...
